  • this was hilarious, holy shit hahahaha. so abstract, but it showed such a simple concept. simple is always a lot better in most cases, and it sure showed here! i liked this VFS film a lot!

  • what song is at 6:30?

  • that was awesome! :)

  • American money? in a video made in Canada! why!

  • hahaha awsome video, A ROUND OF DUCK!

  • what kind of camara was used to film this?

  • man they have good weed on vfs (just kiddig)

    good work bizarre and funny

  • brilliant! lol

  • Very good , sir.

  • LOL i love the his crazy clothes! XD

  • Everyone did an excellent job. I think everyone involved will have a long career doing feature films.

  • If you can't write dialogue, don't film it. Everything that comes out of the VFS has a decent visual style, but what are the writers smoking?

  • VFS isn't about writing =D

  • this is done in film production course, not writing. If you dont know your facts, dont post it.

  • If this were a music writing course, and the lyrics were terrible, I would have said that something similar: if the lyrics suck, then just write the music. If the dialogue sucks, then just film the action. The person who made this film might learn something from the animation guys.

I'm assuming this script didn't just fall out of the air, which means that someone wrote it, and that the people responsible for making this must have read it and found it acceptable.

  • even if that is the case, i find this script hilarious, and quality. karl marx in there? polishing russia on the globe? round of duck on the house for everyone? its not as random as you may think.

I take this video (more or less) as a tribute to young aspiring film makers who make random videos up on the spot that dont have to make complete sence to be funny.

  • huh, good technique but not very impressive content!

  • I like it, love the classic story telling methodology used in this short.

Its been a long time since i've done video work but i must say its inspired me to start thinking about it again.

    Well done.

I've just looked at doing a VFS course, hmmmm Canada looks arwsome but finding the time and finances it always difficult.

    Stars

  • very nice work. respect.

  • I think there is an episode of Sabrina The Teenage Witch with a similar plot structure, not including Karl Marx of course.

    Good stuff. I like.

  • The director must love Wes Anderson movies.

  • congratulations guys

    good acting

    solid direction

  • Brilliant...although I still wonder what the picture earlier from the old man was for??? Please help me out with what I missed...LOL

  • what song is that at the beginning?

  • He learned a lesson in karma for just 73 cents.

  • A round of duck for the house!

  • Hehehe, lol wut?

  • Why is a VANCOUVER Film School short film using American money as currency?

  • Perhaps the film is meant to take place in the states?

  • Why would that matter; it was never relevant? Besides, it would've been easier to do it with coins and coins of Loonies' anyway than with U.S. Dollars'.

  • True, but VFS have a few videos where you have to wonder where they were filmed, like the short The Shade.

  • that was awesome..

  • very good video!

  • Great video :D

  • Very, very good.

  • very clever

  • I love this short. One of my all time favorites.

  • very good, sir

    hhahhah

    amazing job :)

  • That was Laugh out loud goodness!

  • Is VFS just recycling old movies? Why are they posting films from a couple years ago.

  • We have had a number of comments requesting movies to be uploaded in high quality. This functionality was not available when these pieces were originally uploaded. We are updating only specific pieces. Thanks for the commnent

  • The money shrunk everytime he used it? So the size of the money represented our greed in wanting money? Pretty nifty storyline if that's the cause

  • Nah. It shrunk because the pants got wet..

  • well....i still like my storyline, lol

  • i swear i've seen this movie before on your channel.. like ages ago..

  • Fantastic, I love it. I should get a helmet like that.

  • why was his hand so big at the end?

  • his hand wasn't big, the money shrunk!

  • I guess I didn't get the whole helmet thing but other then that it was good.

  • sweet

  • kind of twilight zonish

  • maybe that man needs a space ship.

  • Well done! Nice cinematography, music, storyline. Just odd enough decent acting. The whole thing was a bit weird but loved the concept and idea.

  • That was a really good short film. The storyline was good, the cinematography, in fact there wasn't one thing that i disliked about that short. Really really good qualit film making

  • he should have used his money to make them waterproof

  • dude I want those pants (haha maybe not later though I haven't seen the ending yet)

  • "You'll get the other half when you return." Perfect

  • That was quite pleasant! I loved the ending.

  • haha that was awesome

  • Hilarious. I'm not even a huge fan of the ending...I just though the characters were so captivating.

  • great job Aaron, i guess one of the best from VFS, should try a romantic comedy..

  • I loved the ending, very Twilight Zone/ O'Henry!

  • he Homeless man is the bomb. "A round of duck for the house" and his smile, it was the best. He didn't get selfish or cocky.

  • He reminded me a bit of Graham Chapman in that scene.

  • where do you get the actors? for these film school films?

  • ha ha

    ironic
