hey guys im pretty sure halford isnt exactly ashamed of being gay so you can probably stop getting upset and jumping to his defense when i joke about him sucking penis.
I had all the posters of priest from about age 12. Leather bondage gay stuff, I didnt know it. i thought he were just fierce. My sisters told me he was gay, but at 13 I didnt give a shit. Tunes like this just floored me. Ive seen priest live around 7 times and Im 40 tomorrow.

Halford is a fucking god. As for the ol' Maiden vs Priest argument, i have always preferred Maiden but now if you ask me i just have to say Priest. Painkiller and Defenders are great but their 70's stuff is so underrated!
harrybigguy, I had the same book. It taught me more about guitar than the burned-out hippie I was taking lessons from. The Delievering The Goods note said something like "If you can play this solo, you don't need this book!" Too true. CLAPton's not god, TIPton is!
i would say yes this is the first sounds of heavy metal, one thing i did have a tabb book of priest with a mix of tunes up to British steel,..
it had the bands history in it it even had the gauge and make of the strings for Glenn and Ken,.....i remember they use to use Guild strings,..also i do remember KK bottom E string was a 0008 i thik the book was called,..The Early Years,...
i do remember after the lead tabb of delivering the goods there was a *,...at the end of the song it had the *
Anyone have access to the actual, offical lyrics? Tablature guitar books often have them. Most of them in this song are very intelligible, but certain other interperetations vary wildly.
@PDXCHawk I made the spike about nine o' clock on a saturday. All eyes hit me as I walked into the bar. Them steely leather guys were fooling with the denim dudes! A couple cards played rough stuff, New York, Fire Island. I cased the joint, straining at the scenes. I moseyed up to the counter and the tender came a-grinnin' I snapped the smile off his face and scowled "Give me a bourbon". Then the big boys saw me and knew that I had to much floating around.
@3HDXRKO Who cares about Rob's sexual orientation I mean really? It's like saying you don't like black people, just because he likes men doesn't mean he is a threat to society and actually there are a lot of gay people I don't like, but Halford is my man. And I am a straight man, but if Rob ever raped my ass, I tell you right now I might even be a whole new man.
And yes this song is perpetual, so if you mofos out there want to criticize his orientation and this song, you all are really the fucked up ones who need to get a blow job up your fucking ass! So don't go picking on the greatest metal music you've ever and ever will hear in your life!
And one thing I want to point out to defend the greatest metal band of all time, Judas Priest, all the bands today, such as Nickelback, Theory of a Deadman, Shinedown, and Breaking Benjamin all they do is whine about why they can't get enough or any pussy at all, really they are the queer ones because they seem so devulged in their sexual pleasures. Calling Judas Priest gay metal Gods, is an insult, because even though Rob is gay he don't go looking for it and he is the manliest man alive!
Laughin that he sang about fire island, damn thats gay....but he is the metal god so who gives a fuck, people that judge him cause he's a fag should kill themselfs
Back in the 70s out here in San Antonio, all the kids new Rob was gay. We knew because we had a badass DJ, Joe Anthony "the Godfather of Rock-n-Roll." And this Dj was gay. This DJ owned a restaraunt named "Mr. Pizza." And every time the Priest would blow in to town (pun intended) they would stop by Mr. Pizza after their shows. And it was rumored that Rob would go to the Back with Joe and they would have their own little party. SO yeah we knew way back then. Its cool though, cuz JP ROCKS!!!!!!!
fag or no fag you cant deny they are one of the most heaviest bands of all time i wouldn't have cared if they were singing about fucking chickens hails to priesttttttttt
I made, despite the crowd, nine 0 clock on a saturday. All eyes hit me as I walked into the bar. This steed and other guys were fooling with the denim dudes. I got the cards played. Rough stuff. New York Fire Island. I cased the joint. Straining at the seams. I mosied up to counter and the tender came a grinin. I slapped the smile off his faces. Now, Give me a bourbon!. The mirror on the wall was collectin and reflectin all the heavy bodies that were stealin, eager for some action.
@GregERobertson I had no idea back then what they were either but I knew the published lyrics were lies so I tried translate them the best I could from this video.
This scene screwed me up,our souls had contact, and there he was. Saw me and knew that, I had too much. Floating down low. Sites alive. Seconds are high. Sex like a hurricane ravaged and shattered. I was barely holding on to this fine body symphony. I used to dream in pictures, not colors. True free expression now demands human rights, right? I came alive I am immortal! I'm knowing , No law. Life ends. This Life is now a bunch of bullshit, burning ,spinning ,raw deal!
never listened to the lyrics, just loved the music of Priest. ignorance was bliss. it's ok now to know the deal, kinda thought so anyway from the lyrics I could understand. won't change my love of the great music we call Judas Priest! Sing on my brother
these are original lyrics -listen closely and you will hear them. Rob Halford changed them (he even changed them on Judas Priest website)due to there homosexual tones. For instance the 1st verse goes-I made the Spike(gay bar) about 9 o'clock on a staurday. All eyes hit me as I walked into the bar. The suede and leather guys were foolin' with the denim dudes. ....It is a song about gay nitelife...I'm straight yet I love this song
I would say this any metal head who hasn't listened to Priest, listen to the
70's catalogue.Remember this is how HM sounded back then. They're all good I think,I have the 'Rocka Rolla' album tattooed on my arm cuz it looks so fuckin'
@norsmetal The crecendo guitar & vocals made the song I never could hear the lyrics but when I listen to a song I put my own spin on it anyways so anyone with a brain could care less that Rob is in to dudes As long as he keeps sounding like a god thats all that matters... less competition for the women so Glenn gets all the chicks
the lyrics from the 70s are much deeper. I wish they had stayed with that kind of stuff. although there are still the occasional gems in terms of lyrical content british steel was turning point where they turned to dumbed down content.
