NOTICE: No dislikes on this one! And for good reason! KILLER all the way around. "Handsupman" has said it all here! An' "teletekman" is right on - the only thing better than twin fiddles is triple fiddles, esp. if ya got Ernie Reed, Don Rich & Charlie Justice drawin' the bows! WOW on this clip.
Loved bucks Band with Don Rich ~he was sooo awesome and such a great loss ~Buck Owens was never the same after Dons death ~He was jsut a great player and Picker We sure lost a lot when we lost soo many of the great ones~ And Liek all of you I cant stand todays Country at all ~It ReallY SUCKS ~Ty all for these Videos I Love them~Steve
No doubt about it, that is "Dashing Doyle Holly on bass"! And Don Rich on fiddle (Middle). Remember the buckaroos were "house musicians" in the beginning of Hee-Haw. Also Buck and Farren were long time buddies.
That's what's great about youtube..you have a choice of the young Faron or the older Faron. I prefer the older, funnier version! Watch "Winter Wonderland" on mrronniea post..his ballet ending is priceless!
Was watching Hee Haw on RFD-TV the other night and this song came on.
The first year of that show they had Faron Young, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Waylon Jennings and, of course, Buck and Roy. Ladies and gentlemen--it does not get any better than that. Today's "country" performers couldn't carry these guys' jock straps....
One of my all time favorite songs by one of my all time favorite singers!! Thanks for post.

The guy on steel guitar is the great Doug Jernigan!

I think the pedal steel man is Ben Keith who also spent 4 decades as Neil Young's pedal steel man

A passionate good hearted country boy; but don`t mess with his wife or friends. Then you end up in a Big fight

How old is Doug Jernigan (steel guitar) in this video? Doesn't look much older than 15, but it's a bit blurry.

Faron was a very picky man some say very hard to work with at times, you think he would had fixed his tie before the camera rolled
JoeBarcus 2 years ago
I didn't know the man personally, but his tie or his demeanor does not take anything away from his talent which is undisputable.

Truely one of the best. A guy could never go wrong with Doug Jernigan on the steel and Ernie Reed and Don Rich on the fiddles.

this by far is in my opinion, the best film clip of Faron Young on You Tube, Faron Young at his best, as a singer, and a showman, Mac
