The girl has talent. She has a nice tone. She has good volume. That's where it ends. To me, great singers don't constantly try to hit and sustain notes they know they can't like Xtina does. Great singers don't waste their talent by oversouling a song to death by doing repetitive, musically nonsensical riffs. When you learn what a great singer is you'll see all the ways that Xtina isn't one, and then you can get back to me.

Christina Aguilera is a rank amateur. Every note she sings is either flat, sharp, or in a different key. Her intonation is awful. Shoshana Bean is perfection.

No one's perfect, but Shoshana is a hell of a lot better when it comes to staying in tune, even if you take Xtina's performances as a whole. Xtina's sustained notes are usually messy, when they're actually on key they're not close to the center of the pitch.

All this Shoshana Bean vs. Christina stuff can be really annoying. They both sang the song really well and they both brought something different to it. Christina brought her raspy soulful vocals and her beautiful head voice, and Shoshana brought her clean pure vocals and powerful whistle register! They both did AMAZING jobs! No need to compare! Every artist has there strengths and weakness. And Every artist is different. By comparing them, you are setting yourself up for an endless debate!

Oh yes, she gets rough, but at no point sounds like her larynx is between her eyebrows and choking on her tongue as always happens with Christina, also Shoshana has better intonation than Christina.
That's really up to personal taste, some may like Christina's timbre more...but the objective reality is that Shoshana's intonation is 10 times better than Christina's, and her transition between registers is much smoothly and well coordinated. Overall a better singer from a technical point.

ok everyone i shall settle all argumentos about shos voice. technique wise, she has perfect control rdiculous breath support phenominal tone and pretty amazing diction. emotion wise, the emotion and truth that shimmers through in her voice makes up for all (if any) flaws there are. the roughness in parts of the song (which you'd better believe she wants to be there) covers all her supposedly "iffy" vowels. bottom line, no matter how you criticize her, shos the best. and HOT DAMN!that high note!!

ok everyone i shall settle all argumentos about shos voice. technique wise, she has perfect control rdiculous breath support phenominal tone and pretty amazing diction. emotion wise, the emotion and truth that shimmers through in her voice makes up for all (if any) flaws there are. the roughness in parts of the song (which you'd better believe she wants to be there) covers all her supposedly "iffy" vowels. bottom line, no matter how you criticize her, shos the best. and HOT DAMN!that high note!!

Douchebags!!! This song was written in 1973, before christina was even born. Like Shoshanna said, it was written by Aretha Franklin's sister. Impossible was written by Alicia Keys and is a blatantly shitty rip-off of "aint no way". Its pathetic that Christina and Mariah are the "voices" of this generation!
