Without Unions this world would be better. They make people stand out in front of places and trow shit and don't pay you for standing there. and all they do is come in companies and steal other peoples jobs.
Someone messes with, "f's" with, screws with, or attempts to ridicule any of my past union brothers or sisters, I don't care if it leads to Armageddon, God will cover us in battle with Corporate America much like He did the Israelites.
Do you dip shits even know why they got locked out? do some research before ya go ranting. The teamsters have have these poor workers believing that WM is out to get them and only the Teamsters can protect them. It's sad these guys can't think for themselves. Oh Well... Pay your dues and keep on truckin... I guess!!!
Eh? Whom are your angry at here? WM or the Teamsters or us locals discussing the event? Just curious who the "d.s.'s" you were referring to? For clarity sake ;)
The Teamsters!! I feel bad for these workers being locked out. I was asked to go help do the routes while they were out of work. They didn't seem to understand we were there to protect the company and the workers jobs. If they understand it or not even though we go to pick up the trash at these strikes it doesn't lower the effect of striking by much. Ya we pick up the trash but it costs WM a fortune to have the "Green Team" Come work. The Oakland strike cost us over$30Mil forjustfiveweeks.
Ah, I see the perspective. Very interesting. I, for one, am very thankful for your efforts. Everyone worked hard to keep a semblance of normalcy and it sounds like a lot of that was owed to good people like you. You have my thanks.
hehehe... I have been in business a long time myself. One thing I have learned is never to say never ;) I am pretty happy with the WM overall service myself actually. I think, with a little more proactive focus on their union relations, they will do just fine.
Sadly due to corporate and shareholder greed. Unions are still needed. The bad thing is that they look out for the scumsucker workers way more then they do the average rank and file. Also a good portion of the dues they collect go to far left political candidates that the average rank and file worker would never support.
I want to be proactive and punish this company for being non-union friendly. But, would taking it out of the market ( and costing those jobs ) hurt more than help?
Ps. I live in C.V. and I plan to be right there when the contract comes due for this garbage company. I will be voting to revoke their license renewal. Primarily because of they way they handled this strike and locked out their workers.
Having said that, however, would having the license revoked hurt the very same union brothers too? Maybe someone out there, related to the union, could chime in and let me know how you would vote.
Eh. I understand the sentiment. If I were on the line, I would not be happy with a scab taking my spot either. But, shooting at him? Nah, I would save it for the line and direct my anger at management. Not some poor shmuck that just happens to need a job as bad as I do.
You have to be real mad to shoot something like that with a little pellet gun. That thing is built like a tank. I am just glad no one got hurt. There were a lot of hot tempers around that time though.

@Italaingod30 I get paid to stand there. That's where some of your union dues go.

So... how would you vote once the companies contract is up? To keep them here or for a new company?
