she is so calm because her body is flooded with endorphins or some such junk. when I cut the tip of my thumb off in the meat slicer I went into shock pretty quickly and was actually pretty calm.
Yeah, so, when you're talking injuries and the term FLAP comes up, you know it's a bad one. It's a shame -- she seemed like a nice coworker. But you know what you have to do, right? For ol' Flapfinger? Gotta take her behind the barn. Tough, but it's the humane thing to do.
flip it off? that's pretty badass. one time I had a similar cut and I thought the flap would become like "foreign tissue" that the body would try to fight off (since it was almost not connected to it), but it healed nicely.. a couple of weeks of band aids and squirting that dark red/brown disinfectant all over it (because that's what I saw them do on ER)
haha. antigerm! yeah, he cleaned it. he rinsed it under the faucet and then put alcohol on it ... i really wanted to film the rinsing, but i was too slow. he had the water shooting right in between the flap of skin and her finger, so the flap was ... well ... flapping and bloodless ... it was so gross
i can so relate. i took a glass blowing glass and cut myself so many times. damn cold glass.

You don't realize how close I came to wetting the bed from reading this and laughing. I should never read on a full bladder.

I had that happen to my pinky in a very unfortunate accident involving play fencing and an umbrella.
Did you clean it first? I buy rubbing alcohol by the liter. It burns, but I love the clean *^^*

OH geeze! I almost threw up...not really, but make sure you do an update of how her finger looks healed.

That'll teach her not to circumcise her finger.

she was using an exacto knife to cut something, and it slipped ... easiest way to take off a fingertip!

I'm gagging. The worst thing about a cut like this is when it's half-healed and you catch it on something.
