GT5 is fantastic, the only problem is the lack of interior views...or just how they split cars into premium and standard. makes it looks lazy after the amount of time it took to produce ;/

Have both, but i must say i find tuning in forza more user friendly than in GT5, and for me thats what matters the most, Forza also sounds quite a bit better through a headset then GT5 in my opinion. I still play both though, I just play forza more often
The gameplay graphics between the 2 are very close, Keep in mind GT5 came out at least 2 years before Forza did, that plays a big role with graphics in games. Didn't like the sound test IGN pulled, it sounds diffferent but at the same time the cars weren't tested in the same speed / gear. I like driving as realistic as it gets, so i choose GT5. I guess people don't like the same thing though, they care about slightly better graphics and a story over realistic driving. except, GT5's crashes blow
I'd say Forza 4 is better then Gran Turismo 5. I self got an Gran Turismo. Forza got nice graphics and sounds, Gt5 only got many cars and nice graphics. My opinion choose Forza 4.

Because they developed an engine for scratch, 6 months with each car that has different animations with windshield wipers, high/low beams (light color varies), H pattern manual shifting animation, paddle shifting animations, fabric texture inside of cockpit, cockpit modeling for future proof, tracks like Nurburgring that's the most accurate in consoles, licensing, developing GTpsp at the same time with GT5, data logger development....
@MrEvol94 ...they're still providing updates/support, bug testing for their new engine, animated pit crews, better A.I, tire marks/skid mars (requested by fans), endurance races with save feature, getting the use of the SPE's for dynamic lighting, implement 3d engine, 2 years for each track with proper measurement etc. That's not even close to be considered sloppy developers. This is why it took them 5 years on a brand new platform.

@3:07 There's no way to record GT5's true sound when using it in anything about the standard 2 channel option. You guys are only recording the 2 channel Stereo that GT5 has. It sounds much different when using a home theater system which you can't replicate on here.
I personally play both series and I'm well aware how these games works, and looks.
So far FM4 is just getting boring because it does remind me too much from FM3, same Event List, Online gaming is still horrible due to rammers, painting wont interest you for long, driving gets boring because every car is a winning car, no matter whats the difficulty of the AI.
And the looks, geesh, like I've said many times, FM4 can draw only 1 car at time as fully modelled, other cars does become as "standard"

@lolf08 Shift 2 has alot better graphics than FM4, period. FM's nurburgring is 3 km too long compared to real life track, so I blame T10 for what have they done, ruined the whole track, period. Within 6 years FM4 is the first to have tire smokes added, and ehhh autovista ? You serious ? If I want to look at great cars, I'll go into outside world or I'll watch Top Gear rather than pointing virtual cars in Autovista mode which is complete waste. I could never play GT5 in third person, the view is so stiff. Makes the cars look like they have no suspension. But it looks pretty good apart from that. I havn't played it yet so idk how the physics go.
Opinions are opinions, GT5 is the best in my eyes because its a LEGEND! Not no little kids game. Don't get me wrong I also like Forza 4 because of what you can do to the cars and the market but I can't stand the people that play it. My copy of gt5 is collecting dust. Forza is the better of the 2. Its more accurate, the graphics are better, everything. I own a kia forte koup sx. The game drives the same way as my real car does. Same 0-60, same G's on a skid pad, it the same.

i have both games and i can say that GT5 in "MY" opinion is more entertaining to play for the fact that multiplayer games are much easier and funner, the game feels more realistic with the way cars handle differently, and their is more content like rally, night racing, dynamic weather effects and the best wheel on the market as of now "Logitech G27" i have more fun racing than admiring the graphics.. oh and btw what ever happened to the saying "Its not the graphics that makes a game good"???? :\

To me, I prefer GT5 over F4. I have both. F4 doesn't have that "special" feeling to it where you always want to come back and play it. In GT5, I'm always happy to go back and play it.

The sounds in GT5 are beyond pathetic and nothing reminiscent of the real thing. Contrary, the sounds in FM4 are simply incredible because they're so spot on with every vehicle. Take notes GT, better luck next time in that department. Theres nothing like cranking the volume on your surround sound setup in order to hear that famed boxer rumble mixed with the turbo spool, or the uneven chattery gargle of the '70 challengers camshaft when at idle, or like the V10 in the 560. All so good and more!

FM odditioes so far, in overall, FM3 cars are alot quicker than in FM2 or FM4 (same cars on same tracks) and I can remember how Forza 3 was being called realistic, even you can set a World Lap Records with almost any car within 2 laps. PI system really treats cars in odd ways, but in overall, most cars are alot faster on each FM than these are in real life (by many seconds) while I personally cant beat GT-R Nissan world record lap on Nurburgring in GT5, tho Forza's Nurburgring is nowhere near

How could this 'expert' not even mention the physics differential between the two games? One of the most important aspects of any car game? IGN baffles me sometimes. Its GT5 crowning achievement which almost makes up for the sloppiness of the overall product. Forza looks/sounds/set up is fantastic but as an overall driving experience? There is a reason GT5 took 5 years!

Forza 5 may be 100 times better than GT6 but it won't matter. PD has created an empire with their series. Proof of the fan base? GT5 and GT5 Prologue together have sold more copies than the entire Forza series, both GT games received average ratings while Forza was praised. Forza if you have a 360 GT5 if you have a PS3.
If the GT fankids hadnt been crying and screaming to get the game released and putting the pressure on Kaz and his team, the game would have been MUCH more complete and full on (like it is now), right from the very start.

Why are people saying Forza 4 is arcade? You know what, maybe it's because they play on ease or medium levels, when the REAL experience is in the professional level that forza 4 offers. Play that shit on the HARDEST level and I guarantee you that shit is realistic. I drive a 2008 ford mustang GT and race in it, and for a video game, it IS pretty dam realsitic. Than again, on the more realistic modes.

@trombone32123 I agree with the people saying Forza 4 is too arcade.. When I tried the Forza 4 demo I was very disappointed.. I turned all of the aids off, and played with the FF wheel.. It felt like NFS Shift or something. With woefully overblown physics, complete with way too easy to drift oversteer.. IMHO, Forza 2 felt more realistic..
When I watch the orange focus at 0:34. to me, that just doesn't look like a simulator. the attached to the ass cam is really, really bad. I like em both but I've discovered that FM4 cars doesnt sound or handle like real life cars these are supposed to virtually recreate there, what a shame. FM4 is great game, as a game, but it lost its fun just after when you have all the cars and you try to enter online, which is full of rammers and wannabe drivers without any sense about the racing or unwritten rules about it. AI is mediocre, Event list is B O R I N G to complete (did that in FM3 already)

To be onist the thing i dont like in forza that much is drifting its a racing game not a drifting game,another thing theres more funner cars in gt 5 not always the high end ones other good thing theres no drifting mode on it so i give it a 10 but forza only a 8 its just still got drifting in the game it would be better without it there would be less dirty racers and more clean ones
this is the fact forza may have won some prizes for the worlds most realistic driving game observe "game" gran turismo 5 is a driving SIMULATOR as it saids on the shelf the real driving simulator forza should be compared with need for speed dirt 3 and games like this which are normal games granturismo to example has the 24 hour race which is simulated to the real world as much as possible so im just saying. personally i like gt5 more cause you can add stearing wheels like g27 to it. cheers
My personal opinion, forza 4 is better by far. The patch made gt5 slightly better but still no competition. Forza 4 has so much more in depth to not only the game but the customization, the community, and especially the details of cars and tracks. Gt5 cars to me just screamed this is a video game due to poor design quality, where as watching replays of your races in forza seemed so life-like. A zr1 vette with a race exhaust sounded exactly as that, a zr1 with a race exhaust. A big f-ing v8. Not

@lolf08 Did you even read carefully of what Sampyla20plus said? GT5 built a brand new engine, which they dumped previous coding from GT4 to match the ps3's capabilities. T10 built FM2-FM4 from the same engine from the first title. Creating a new engine takes years to build from ground up. The only reason PD released the game because Sony forced them. That's why Kaz mentioned he'll bring in so many updates throughout the game. Many cars didn't make the cut in GT5.

@lolf08 Yes I do play in HD, and lately been doing some odd research about cars in each FM game for Xbox360, which means I did play same cars in each, and when I changed from FM3 into FM4, it didnt look much different at all, only on showroom, loading screen cars are from FM2 and so on. customizing is the best part of the Forza, that is very true, but honestly, if you play GT5 after FM4, you will get shocked how much better it looks (in HD) in motion, even the standard cars.

Have both, but i must say i find tuning in forza more user friendly than in GT5, and for me thats what matters the most, Forza also sounds quite a bit better through a headset then GT5 in my opinion. I still play both though, I just play forza more often

The gameplay graphics between the 2 are very close, Keep in mind GT5 came out at least 2 years before Forza did, that plays a big role with graphics in games. Didn't like the sound test IGN pulled, it sounds diffferent but at the same time the cars weren't tested in the same speed / gear. I like driving as realistic as it gets, so i choose GT5. I guess people don't like the same thing though, they care about slightly better graphics and a story over realistic driving. except, GT5's crashes blow

I don't like the 360, but people the crying PS3 fanboys and GT5 players have probably never played forza 4. Forza 4 is easily better than GT5, they are both good though.
+ GT5 was in development for more than TWICE as long, yet it only has 200 cars with decent cockpit view. Sloppy devs or what?

Because they developed an engine for scratch, 6 months with each car that has different animations with windshield wipers, high/low beams (light color varies), H pattern manual shifting animation, paddle shifting animations, fabric texture inside of cockpit, cockpit modeling for future proof, tracks like Nurburgring that's the most accurate in consoles, licensing, developing GTpsp at the same time with GT5, data logger development....

@MrEvol94 ...they're still providing updates/support, bug testing for their new engine, animated pit crews, better A.I, tire marks/skid mars (requested by fans), endurance races with save feature, getting the use of the SPE's for dynamic lighting, implement 3d engine, 2 years for each track with proper measurement etc. That's not even close to be considered sloppy developers. This is why it took them 5 years on a brand new platform.

@3:07 There's no way to record GT5's true sound when using it in anything about the standard 2 channel option. You guys are only recording the 2 channel Stereo that GT5 has. It sounds much different when using a home theater system which you can't replicate on here.

I personally play both series and I'm well aware how these games works, and looks.
So far FM4 is just getting boring because it does remind me too much from FM3, same Event List, Online gaming is still horrible due to rammers, painting wont interest you for long, driving gets boring because every car is a winning car, no matter whats the difficulty of the AI.
And the looks, geesh, like I've said many times, FM4 can draw only 1 car at time as fully modelled, other cars does become as "standard"

@lolf08 Shift 2 has alot better graphics than FM4, period. FM's nurburgring is 3 km too long compared to real life track, so I blame T10 for what have they done, ruined the whole track, period. Within 6 years FM4 is the first to have tire smokes added, and ehhh autovista ? You serious ? If I want to look at great cars, I'll go into outside world or I'll watch Top Gear rather than pointing virtual cars in Autovista mode which is complete waste. FM2 was T10 first xbox360 title, had NO interiors...

My copy of gt5 is collecting dust. Forza is the better of the 2. Its more accurate, the graphics are better, everything. I own a kia forte koup sx. The game drives the same way as my real car does. Same 0-60, same G's on a skid pad, it the same.

i have both games and i can say that GT5 in "MY" opinion is more entertaining to play for the fact that multiplayer games are much easier and funner, the game feels more realistic with the way cars handle differently, and their is more content like rally, night racing, dynamic weather effects and the best wheel on the market as of now "Logitech G27" i have more fun racing than admiring the graphics.. oh and btw what ever happened to the saying "Its not the graphics that makes a game good"???? :\

The sounds in GT5 are beyond pathetic and nothing reminiscent of the real thing. Contrary, the sounds in FM4 are simply incredible because they're so spot on with every vehicle. Take notes GT, better luck next time in that department. Theres nothing like cranking the volume on your surround sound setup in order to hear that famed boxer rumble mixed with the turbo spool, or the uneven chattery gargle of the '70 challengers camshaft when at idle, or like the V10 in the 560. All so good and more!

FM odditioes so far, in overall, FM3 cars are alot quicker than in FM2 or FM4 (same cars on same tracks) and I can remember how Forza 3 was being called realistic, even you can set a World Lap Records with almost any car within 2 laps. PI system really treats cars in odd ways, but in overall, most cars are alot faster on each FM than these are in real life (by many seconds) while I personally cant beat GT-R Nissan world record lap on Nurburgring in GT5, tho Forza's Nurburgring is nowhere near

How could this 'expert' not even mention the physics differential between the two games? One of the most important aspects of any car game? IGN baffles me sometimes. Forza 5 may be 100 times better than GT6 but it won't matter. PD has created an empire with their series. Proof of the fan base? GT5 and GT5 Prologue together have sold more copies than the entire Forza series, both GT games received average ratings while Forza was praised. Forza if you have a 360 GT5 if you have a PS3.

Gt 5 has more cars to choose from and well the career is very long it might take u two years depends how u play it, why do u hate it ? cos u cant tune some cars so fuckin what people on ps 3 might like to drive untuned cars its more exciting plus gt 5 has cars that are rare in the real world alls forza has is 500 cars and online players who carnt drive plus half of the cars automaticly drift when u reach the corner and my god the the handerling is so bad for xample every fwd car feels the same.

Why are people saying Forza 4 is arcade? You know what, maybe it's because they play on ease or medium levels, when the REAL experience is in the professional level that forza 4 offers. Play that shit on the HARDEST level and I guarantee you that shit is realistic. I drive a 2008 ford mustang GT and race in it, and for a video game, it IS pretty dam realsitic. Than again, on the more realistic modes.

@trombone32123 Honestly, either of the games are hardcore sims, and Forza 4 is less simulator than GT5 is, being tested by real car magazines / car journalists / pro drivers, no player can denie the opinion of real life professionals, period.

@trombone32123 I agree with the people saying Forza 4 is too arcade.. When I tried the Forza 4 demo I was very disappointed.. I turned all of the aids off, and played with the FF wheel.. It felt like NFS Shift or something. With woefully overblown physics, complete with way too easy to drift oversteer.. IMHO, Forza 2 felt more realistic..

When I watch the orange focus at 0:34. to me, that just doesn't look like a simulator. the attached to the ass cam is really, really bad. Idk why people say forza 4 is arcade, when the physics to me feel much more realistic. I own both, but hardly never play gt5 because imo it just was a horrible product.

I like em both but I've discovered that FM4 cars doesnt sound or handle like real life cars these are supposed to virtually recreate there, what a shame. FM4 is great game, as a game, but it lost its fun just after when you have all the cars and you try to enter online, which is full of rammers and wannabe drivers without any sense about the racing or unwritten rules about it. AI is mediocre, Event list is B O R I N G to complete (did that in FM3 already)
but still, a good game. GT5 just....Wins

To be onist the thing i dont like in forza that much is drifting its a racing game not a drifting game,another thing theres more funner cars in gt 5 not always the high end ones other good thing theres no drifting mode on it so i give it a 10 but forza only a 8 its just still got drifting in the game it would be better without it there would be less dirty racers and more clean ones

this is the fact forza may have won some prizes for the worlds most realistic driving game observe "game" gran turismo 5 is a driving SIMULATOR as it saids on the shelf the real driving simulator forza should be compared with need for speed dirt 3 and games like this which are normal games granturismo to example has the 24 hour race which is simulated to the real world as much as possible so im just saying. personally i like gt5 more cause you can add stearing wheels like g27 to it. cheers

My personal opinion, forza 4 is better by far. The patch made gt5 slightly better but still no competition. Forza 4 has so much more in depth to not only the game but the customization, the community, and especially the details of cars and tracks. Gt5 cars to me just screamed this is a video game due to poor design quality, where as watching replays of your races in forza seemed so life-like. A zr1 vette with a race exhaust sounded exactly as that, a zr1 with a race exhaust. A big f-ing v8. Not

@lolf08 I waited for Forza 4 for almost 6 years, they HAD to make and bill me with FM2 and FM3 which were nowehere near to that was supposed to !! FM4 is the final product, so it does equal with GT5 actually (T10 uses ALOT of copy & paste with their serie so no wonder they can release new version so often and taking 60$ from each product from brainwashed wannabe "sim" drivers) I am one of them, I have all 4 and GT5 is far more better than all FM's combined, reason ? GT5 is still PD's

@lolf08 PD had to start from scratch, while T10 used Forza 1 to make FM2, just in HD, while PD didnt use anything but mainly some data from cars from GT4, if you're SO damn good making games fast, why dont you recreate race sim with 1000 cars, 20-30 tracks, track editor, working online in less than 5 years. Let me see how well you do sir, calling another people as kids makes you as one, dear sir, I am sure I'm older than you are, if that does make any difference.

@lolf08 FM2 = 0, ZERO premium car :) Is that better ? GT5 atleast has 200+ of these in their FIRST big title for this gen console... FM4 has been in development for 6 years in total, and STILL has flaws, like shift animations, only 1 car at time is fully modelled during races, no matte colour palette, AI is horrible, so yea, it indeed is one heck of an game, but honestly, if you believe FM4 is a better game, then it is, but not in my view it's not :) Agree ? @lolf08 Did you even read carefully of what Sampyla20plus said? GT5 built a brand new engine, which they dumped previous coding from GT4 to match the ps3's capabilities. T10 built FM2-FM4 from the same engine from the first title. Creating a new engine takes years to build from ground up. The only reason PD released the game because Sony forced them. That's why Kaz mentioned he'll bring in so many updates throughout the game. Many cars didn't make the cut in GT5.

@whatnow1204 Most of the updates were pretty much useless except for spec 2.0.+ The quality of GT5 is acceptable if its a game that has been developed for 2-3 years.Right now we should have GT6 on PS3.Oh and I'm sure that Turn 10 made a huge progress with the Forza series on 360.F4 graphics is comparable to the GT5 and very different from F2 and F3.

Fm4 cars looks better than in FM3, true, but only in showroom / autovista mode, during races they look all the same, while the tracks itself are completely same, tho Nurburgring looks even worse than it was in FM3.

@lolf08 Yes I do play in HD, and lately been doing some odd research about cars in each FM game for Xbox360, which means I did play same cars in each, and when I changed from FM3 into FM4, it didnt look much different at all, only on showroom, loading screen cars are from FM2 and so on. customizing is the best part of the Forza, that is very true, but honestly, if you play GT5 after FM4, you will get shocked how much better it looks (in HD) in motion, even the standard cars.
