Valse Melancolique from Tchaikovsky's Suite No. 3 in G Major is very ghost-like and haunting. I love it! The NY Philharmonic performed this in Chicago a few weeks ago with Lorin Mazel.
I heard this piece for the first time last week,performed with NY Philharmonic under Lorine Mazel in Philadelphia. I was really touched. Anybody knows if Mazel has recorded this?
Wonderful music. Strange sounds coming from the oboes, though.
