  • he's also a very very nice guy.

  • I know this is totally irrelevant, but I feel like Jesse's guitar is smaller than the other guitars XD It also seems a bit small on himself. He still makes brilliant music anyways. ^^ Very nice artist.

  • @animallover70 small guitar,,, big sound!!

  • jesse is a GOD!

  • All amazing guitar stuff aside, just grab a friend and try clapping alternating 16th notes like those two ladies were. It's about impossible. Really, musicians. Try it.

    ~Chic and Peter

  • outstanding ++++++

  • Nice Latin, not Flamenco though.

To quote Lorca: "The great artists of Southern Spain, Gypsy or flamenco, singers dancers, musicians, know that emotion is impossible without the arrival of the duende. They might deceive people into thinking they can communicate the sense of duende without possessing it...but we only have to attend a little, and not be full of indifference, to discover the fraud, and chase off that clumsy artifice."

  • nut shot! LOL

  • @Sythofin I love how your comment is so bland and to the point but it has the most likes lol unlike most videos where something lucrative is the best

    I really enjoyed this one.

Thanks so much for sharing it.

    5***** and more

  • wonderful guitarist ,a fantastic rythm thanks sofia for shared with me . have a great weekend, massimo 5******

  • Hello dearest Sofia

thanks for this wonderful share dear,so lovely, and if its not you,i wont know about this wonderful music, fantastic,i love Guitars so much.

    i truly love it.

  • Fantastic:)

  • Well, I think I should learn to play the guitar. Always wanted to. This seals it. Should I get steel strings or those plastic types? Yes. I am a noob.

  • Do lots of research first. I just bought a new guitar, with metal strings because the type of songs i like sound better with those (ex. classic rock and pop songs). If u like Jesse Cook, most Beatles songs I'd say, other folk music, then go for nylon. Ask some friends, look it up online and go to a store and try several guitars to see which one fits the best. The most important part of this is the fit.

    Good luck!

  • Jesse Cooke sure has interesting hair. But when it comes to real flamenco I'll take Paco de Lucia and Vincente Amigo everytime.

Not saying it isn't kind of fun but doesn't come close to what it's trying to imitate.

  • I love Jesse's hair, and wow I'm hooked....super job, love all of it.......

  • I prefer to let Jesse Cook be Jesse Cook & perform his own form of music. I get so much enjoyment from his music, it's sad to me that you don't appreciate it for what it is; it's own form of expression, perhaps modeled after flamenco & yet...... unique, not an imitation.

  • r u saying paco de lucia has better hair? lol. I think skill wise, paco might be better but when it comes to music itself (not just guitar, harmony with all other equipment and rythm and all), I like jesse cook better.

  • Comment removed

  • I respect Jesse Cook, but sorry, Paco de Lucía is a Maestro of the guitar and it's pointless to compare this guy with him. You can like Jesse Cook's music better, but that doesn't mean it is "better". In fact, this music is very simple in terms of harmony (rythm is good but simple as well). Just listen to some bulerias by Paco de Lucía.

  • I agree with that but I saw Cook last year on long Island and the woman danced all night to his music!! Do you think this would happen with De lucia or DeMeola? John Giambalvo

  • His music doesn't supposed to be flamenco at all, it's a mix of latin rhythms and "flamenco light" for the American taste. Besides quite a few people who listen to flamenco for the first time either love it or hate it.

  • You are an asshole. Why don't you pick up a guitar and try it...Shithead

  • I like his music but is not flamenco you pea brain!!! why don't you listen to Paco de Lucia or other flamenco players before you you open your big mouth?

  • he's not pure flamenco guitarist, he never claimed he was. its just ppl wanted to lable him as flamenco guitarist. flamenco effected him alot when he was young but now he travels around world and adobt their music as his. Ive seen some middle east music in his albums.

  • I agree... Jesse Cook. Govi, Armi, Oscar Lopez and more are " Nuevo Flamenco", in which I see flamenco and world beat.

BTW.. like acoustic guitar? check out Tommy Emmanuel on here.

  • Thank U

  • wow!

  • Bom-bom.... bomdabom. Love that Gypsy Kings style finish and those fabulous high-speed tinny runs. Fantastic***** and if you think you could do the counter-clapping, find a partner and try it!

  • love this song!!!

  • screw you man, I like the sound, Its music after all. I dont give a shit about his skills as long as I like the sound

  • can anyone tab this out ??? i wanna learn this song... badly...:(

  • It;s nothing we have better band in Dubai , they are from Azerbaijan , ALMA you can find them on youtube .Jesse Cook Sucks

  • Wow, too much free time on your hands. You won first place prize for Grand Village Idiot of World with a comment as stupid, naive, and downright pathetic as yours.

  • I and others are well aware of this person's short comings. There's no need to go and put down others who find joy and pleasure in simple things. Your behavior is arrogance, then again we are all flawed in many ways and we really shouldn't pick at such things.

  • sorry but what you are saying is Bull@#$!

first of all i believe that if you have anything to say open up your guitar and come up with this kinda music.....and excuse me what are you talking about mid? wow! ok dude i think you need to re check.....but a question...why are you so uptight about him =]? jealous are you?

  • Yes i am jealoys !!! Sorry ......guys .

    check that out on youtube

    Azeri guitar duo alma

  • haha one more thing how come is he famous already while you are still trying to promote those dudes?

  • great song

  • What a wonderful melody and performance! I really enjoyed it!

    Mark Salona

  • I prefer Niño M

  • Niño M IS THE BEST

  • I believe its mostly Spanish Jazz rather than being the flamenco that is played by the gypsies.

  • Don't forget to check out Tomatito, Vicente Amigo, and Paco De Lucia. These are the real Flamenco Guitarist. This is just bs. I don't understand your comment about gypsies playing Spanish Jazz and not flamenco. Al Di Meola is not a gypsy. And if you were trying to say this is Spanish Jazz thats BS to.

  • You should definitely check out Al DiMeola then.

  • why do the latin percussionists have to wear sleeveless shirts all the time! huh

  • awesome music!

  • Love his music!!

    Great talent!

  • Jesse's got a burning heart, that's why his music is so alive!

  • hes not bad fo a wite boh..

  • you just fucking around or what? How the hell does race dictate how good at guitar you are...?

  • Beautiful music! Who cares if he plays with his fingers or uses a pick? Music is from the heart and it belongs to all of us. A human being who is Canadian can be influenced by Flamenco. That is like saying that Carlos Santana shouldn't rock, or Eric Clapton shouldn't play the blues. btw, Flamenco is actually Spanish GYPSY music. We live in a world now where we all learn from and influence one another. Peace, luv.

  • Bro, I'm pretty sure Jesse could play almost any style of guitar you put in front of him, his fingers are nimble as fuck and he knows how to pick a song like a mad man

  • Jesse Cook is great and very original, but ..

¡Flamenco is a SPANISH music style played with fingers!

You should watch something of Vicente Amigo to understand.

  • A canadian playing flamenco, i think there is nothing left to see in this life!

  • dude hes of French descent, meaning hes LATIN. Latin europeans are teh BEST!

  • He's actually Canadian by descent..Both his parents were Canadian, therefore making him Canadian..not Latin

  • A canadian playing flamenco, i think there is nothing left to see!

  • i still remember when you guys played this song live at the virgin music store just when it had opened in robson st. vancouver, met you guys, thanks for signing the cd...i never get bored of this song...mi favorito!

  • damned good

  • Just today, thanks to a friend and 'youtube' -- for showing me around with links, I'm discovering that Canada has some great and brilliant musicians!!! And absolutely I'm becoming a fan of quite a bunch of the very best!!

  • I heard him for the first time at Canada Day Rock concert in London - I loved his music.

  • Thanks Mute for World of Roguecraft 2 and itroducing me to this great artist :D

  • LOVE him!!! xXx

  • i think the main person who has to be applauded is the guy at 3min 02 secs

    hahahaa

  • lol

  • Saw Jesse in NYC this spring, its all I play now..I have 125 Gigs of music...but nothing makes my blood flow like Jesse's music.

  • Best clappers in the world..

  • This guy beats Ottmar Liebert big time,..

Jesse Cook Numero Uno .... Bravo

  • I love to dance to this song : )

    Tks for posting .....

  • Huh, if I'm not mistaken that's the exact same audio track on the CD.

  • i cant find anything to teach me how to play this song!!! i love this song and i wanna learn it help if u can

  • OMG the quality is great...JesseCookGuitarist good job!

  • Wooohooo Jesse is coming to dubai on 28 feb till 1st -march 2008 !!! Waaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!!!!=D

  • I love how his finger picking is so elegant, but he uses a pick to shred through those solos. I'm sure that guy would be awesome playing metal if he tried!

  • if he tried!,but thank god no,if that happens will be so amazing and and i die of hapiness

  • Jesse please come to Mexico...!!!

  • hum

  • He is by far one of the best, h

  • Caught his show here in the U.S.A. For the most part it was quite monotnous and dull. Occasionally he would interject something refreshing and interesting. He can play without a doubt but he needs to break away from the same old thing.

  • Man ever since my friend showed me this guy in 9th grade I've been hooked ever since. He is fucking incredible. I wonder if they have the dance of spring from montreal on here; because, man he tears that shit up at the end.

  • Love love love Jesse Cook's music! We've seen him in concert here in Canada three times and each time has been fantastic! The audience can not sit...everybody up dancing, great atmosphere. His guitar playing is incredible.

  • what are chordes for this song, and is there a bm in it?

  • the girl in tempest is the one who claps her hand here right?

  • Freaking Amazing!

  • Great music.

  • As good as this video is, he is even better in concert! We saw him in a small old theater in Wilmington NC a few months ago. The theater had great accustics and was beautiful. Jesse Cook did not dissapoint either! It was as if his music was felt as well as heard! Love it Love it Love it!

  • is that fucking victor wooten in there playin bass?

    can anyone answer this?

  • Bobo,

Whil he does bear a resemblence to Victor, it is not him.

  • does he plays whit his fingers?

thats fucking fast and fucking good xD!

  • Yeah, its the style of his playing. Little of flamenco and some other influence, but to get that style and speed you need to play with all of your fingers.

  • PERVERT!!!!!!!!

  • he's great on that guitar

  • Paco is in another dimension of music, harder to listen at first glance, great speed and technique, and he can pull some feeling out of it to for sure, i like him very much. But comparing those 2 is prooving that you dont listen to music for the good reasons.

Anyway why does everybody on YouTube always compare the content of a vid with something they believe better ?

Go Jesse and go Paco !!!!

  • Jesse is great in concert, they did an accustic of fall at your feet in the Winspear center. I mean nothing was plugged in just singing and letting the accustics of the walls do the work. it was great good show.

  • Music is the feeling you get when you listen too it. It is not about speed or technique. Sure it help to have the aformentioned but it certainly does not mean that good music will be obtained. So Jesse might not be the fastest or greatest guitar player, but still he can throw out some good feeling. And i really like the music he play.

  • es muy bueno para ser un musico no latino,

    vamos cook!!

  • music its not for competition its for the soul and to enyoy it and jesse its good at that if music was competition de lucia its no God too and he can not be in the same category with de lucia cuz jesse plays ethnic fussion and de lucia its flamenco so ...you get the point

  • please! it's all smoke and mirrors ..cannot be mentioned inthe same breath as de lucia or anoyone of his sature

  • He is an amazing guy i saw him a few years ago live. worth every penny in fact made me LOVE him MORE!!!

    Go jesse!!! He's so

    fine !

  • Lucky you !

I discovered his music in 97 but have never seen him!

    Must be great.

    Cheers
