  • If you chill the smaller tank it will increase the gas density and allow you to get a full charge.

  • Awesome vidoe and thanks you all for showing us how to do this at home! This will save the headache.May God Bless you all with love happiness and peace!

  • so basically ur buying the air in bulk? or that large canister is refillable somehow?

(i dont know much about this substance but yeah

  • @ssips720 The larger Co2 tank is refillable at any welding supply company for about $20.

  • what we do for seltzer lol

  • Where do u buy that tank

  • Awesome vid. I sent it to my dad. lol Btw I'm sure there is a way to make your own flavoring syrups for soda as well.

  • I warmed up my donor tank to about 67 degrees. I was able to get 9 ounces in it. A 3 ounce gain with just a extra 4 degrees!! It sounds like I need to freeze the small tank overnight and the donor tank needs to be at least 70 degrees. Amazing how 2 simple things make such a large difference.

  • I purchased the same setup as you from co2 doctor including the replacement carbanator valve. I only get 6 ounces in the tank. I put the small tank in the freezer for 1 hour and had it completly empty. The room wher I store my 20 pound tank is 63 degrees. Why am I not able to get at least 11 ounces of co2 in the little tank?

  • @bigbadbob143 Hmmmmmmm. I'm not sure. I haven't had that problem. I usually freeze the recipient tank over night so that may make a difference. Are you sure that your donor tank is a siphon tank with a dip tube to get the liquid off the bottom of the tank? Did you make sure your recipient tank was completely empty? My only other idea would be to email the co2 doctor guys and see if they have any helpful info.

  • haha we ha our own air compressor and we just bought 2 soda stream tanks and we can easily refill it for maybe just a few cents(cost of electricity) buy a small compressor... cheaper in the long run

  • @rane998 Uhhhhhh...I'm not sure if this was a serious post, but....your plan is not going to work. The tanks need to be filled with liquid Co2. An air compressor will just output pressurized air. Although there is Co2 in air, it's mostly nitrogen.

  • @rane998

lol I laughed when i read this. You're not gonna get any carbonation if you're just going to shoot air (which is like what? 75% nitrogen ?) into sugar water. Carbonated water is carbonated because of CO2 silly. ;-)

  • I found some tanks with dip/Siphon tubes on ebay for about 140 or so but where can you get this filled. Not many do this. One of the local welding places will do exchanges for$37 for a 20 lbs tank and a local beer brew shop said $44 and a fire extingquisher place said $50. I have seen 2 videos like this and both mention between 14 and 20 for refills.

  • @mblandable I purchased my 20lb. tank at a local welding supply company (forgotten the price) and they refill the tank for me as well for right around $20. I wouldn't buy one on ebay because it would be really expensive to ship. I would assume that any welding supply shop can do this for you.

  • if you put 2-3oz in the little tank your feeding, then vent it out, you will get a fuller fill. This is called chilling the tank and allows more air to fill. I have been filling c02 tanks for paintball guns for over 15 years, its no different.

  • Where did you get the adaptor, can't find them anywhere

  • If you raise your large co2 tank slightly you may get even more into the small tank. Mabey set it on top of a couple of thick books.

  • @akaMyTvAdiction dude co2 is co2 makes no difference whats its used for

  • Where can I get the CO2 canister you have there and is it easy to refill the Sodastream canisters.. what about using the paintball shops to refill the can is that possible? or is it possible to use a Paintball CO2 canister instead. :D

  • Good video. I've been refilling SodaClub/SodaStream for about 5 years now. I still have 3 original large tanks. SodaStream is awfully greedy about their CO2 pricing and now they've stuck people with the small tanks. I have a composite vending CO2 without the dip tube. As a result, I need to invert my tank to do a fill. I need to have the area extinguisher place take the valve off and add a tube to it but I've never got around to it. @akaMyTvAdiction paintball CO2 is no different thank any other.

  • how much soda do you go through that makes you need to go and buy that big of a co2 tank?

    Just wondering.

  • @funshipM174 My family drinks more sparkling water than soda. We do go through a lot of it though. I would guess 4 liters a day? We just carbonate straight tap water. My wife is crazy enough that she drinks carbonated water even when she's working out.

  • I have a 20LB CO2 tank and a 36 inch High Pressure hose with a CGA320 connector. What else do I need to get to fill my sodastream tank. I think I only need to replace the valve on the sodastream tank? Who has them?

  • is the sodastream tank a GCA320?

  • @bigbadbob143 no its regular paintball tank, cga320 is standard co2 tanks and its better if you use a tank with a dip tube. i fill my 9 0z tanks for .75 cents

  • ...plus the cost of the digital scale which needs to measure ounces. That's about another 70 bucks.

  • @FlyBoyBigBlue Nahhhh. My scale was cheap. $20? Check out ebay. It doesn't need to be digital either.

  • @FlyBoyBigBlue 20 bucks at walmart buddy lol

  • PLEASE RESPOND!! Where did you get your 20lb tank? The only one ive seen was $129! How did you get it for $20?

  • @Exzesion I think the 20 lb tank itself cost me over $200 used. $129 is a better deal than I got. The $20 I mentioned was to refill the tank with Co2.

  • Great video ! I may sound redundant but I am asking the same question as Jeremia013 on where do I get that adapter that you are using and how big of a scale are you using ?

Would you please email me your answer to cruisin_682002@yahoo.com ? ! Thank You very much !

  • I hear a lot about SodaStream tanks being Booby-Trapped. Did you have to modify the SodaStream valve before filling the tank?

  • @Mr5thwheeler

Details available in my video description above.

  • @Mr5thwheeler people are retarded they overfill them and when the tanks come to temp they break the burst valve. fill to 9 oz by weight (using a good scale) no more in fact less is better it uses less co2 due to no purging the tank to accept more co2

  • @Jfrashure90 I've been filling frozen tanks to 14 or 15 oz (factory specs) for a year for myself and others and never had a single problem with a valve.

  • Looks like an adapter from co2doctor

  • @jaymartintube

Yes. Details about how to refill your tanks are available on their website. I gave their name and web address in my video description above.

  • you sir, are a genius. Sodastream charges way to much for each CO2 tank

  • Can you tell us which adapter you are using, where to get it and what to ask for? thanks

  • What kind of tank do you have? I live in the middle of nowhere and it's hard to get it filled locally, I'd really like to do it myself. I looked on craigslist and found some tanks, but the seller doesn't know if they are liquid co2 or gas. Do you know which one you got (siphon or non siphon?) One adapter site I've looked at says I need siphon style. I would be forever thankful if you could answer, you can private message me if that's easier. Great vid, you make it look easy!

  • nice markup for you there...

    15oz / 20lbs = ~20 fillups

    20 * 7$ = $140

    $140 - $20 = $120.

Took you less than a minute to fill the bottle, so you could be making like $500 an hour there. Nice!

  • @spokehedz Yes if he had 3 tanks. The tanks are not free you know. And he charges less than half the price that sodastream does.

  • Great device! Could tell me where you got the adapter (or the components if you built it)?

I am looking to try to refill my tank.

    Thanks!
