  • She said "never thought you'd say you got to much head" Freaking hilarious !!! You two are great !!!

  • Who the fuck are you? ron paul 2012

  • thats contaminated ,

  • Runaway carbonation usually means an infected batch.

  • too much primer man

  • Why are you drinking a BL...

  • yeah I used to clean my bottles in the dishwasher with ONLY hot water. Although my dish washer had some food particles and contaminated half my batch.

  • haha he fucked up!!

  • infected or overcarbinated

  • sucks that the bottle didn't come out like you wanted it, but the woman is pretty hot.

  • A few things can cause this, one is too much priming sugar. Also, it can be that there wasn't enough time fermenting because the beer continued fermenting in the bottle creating more and more carbination.

  • way over carbonated you should of tested one in a week or you risk over carbonating

  • That was one of the last you bottled? Perhaps you did not mix in the priming sugar in the bottling bucket very well. Helps to rack the beer over the priming sugar and give it some soft stirs to be sure the priming sugar is distributed evenly

  • uhhh.. How stoned are you people? Be more careful with the priming sugar. Or put it in the freezer to knock down carbonation.

  • pour it in the glass!!!!!!!!aagggghhhh all that hard work on the table.

  • HOLY SHIT YOU GUYS MAKE ME LAUGH ..... hahahaha you guys are cool. can you send me the recipe... should be called double head Ipa.

  • You bottled it before the fermantation was complete. The sediment helped that last bottle out to create the extra foam.

  • whats the recipe?

  • @glitch777 PM me your email and I'll send it to you.

  • Im about to try homebrewing a small batch of ale or something this winter.I dont know much about brewing but ive been into fermenting lately kombucha kefir and sourdough.and i would say you just over fermented or if it only happened on your last bottle it just had alot of yest/sugarars left over and is perfectly ok?Just concentrated beer.Is this what you came to conclusion?

  • @jmoh... you could be right. The last bottle sucked up the last bit of beer from the bottom of the bottling jug. Maybe some left over heavy syrupy mix was there. Or, possible that bottle was contaminated. I took it from my friends stash since I ran out.

  • Everybodys saying you used too much priming sugar... anyways my question is how much priming sugar did you actually use? just curious

  • @07Bolla If I could remember I'd tell you. But it was the amount suggested in the recipie. I think the problem was a contaminated bottle. All the other bottles came out fine... perfect. It's a shame the one we chose to do our tasting on was bad. But that's reality for you!

  • That is not good you used to much priming suger. The good thing is that the bottle did not explode. Some times when you use to much priming suger the bottles explodes and it is very messy and dangerous.

  • I'm glad I was able to taste this beer and currently the only beertuber on the internet to review it!

  • Hi,

i'm not a homebrewer but it looks almost like the beer isn't 'finished' yet... (lack of taste...) or maybe the bottles somehow had too much bacteria in it... (no offense!)

doesn't mean the beer is 'bad' but you probably have to drink it very quickly...

    that shouldn't be a problem.. ;-)

    Joe from Germany

  • Hey y'all!!! It is River. I'm glad the other bottles turned out well!! We just bottled some hard cider, so we'll see how that turns out!

  • I get occasional bottles like this when the rest of the batch is fine.

I can only assume that the bottle is not perfectly sterile when bottling or the cap is not

    100% clean.

Don't stress about it, it happens to all of us.

Keep brewing! It's all part of the fun!

  • LOL at the gushing

  • looks a little overcarbed not too bad, way better to be slightly over carbed than under!

  • I got more foam from one of my old malt liquor puke videos, so don't feel bad, lol! You guys are cool, I subbed!

  • Wow, that was quite the "bottle bomb"! I've had that happen to me several times and like others have said it could be from over-priming. If the other bottles were OK that's what's important. Glad it tasted good.

  • Great flick. Glad it's coming around w/ the later bottles. My own IPA is just getting better with time. Tell the Mrs she won't need a bud light when downing home made IPA. Trust me I know. Got to show this to River! She will love it!

  • sweet glad it all came out good in the end you guys should get a hydrometer. keep the home brewing vids coming imasofats.

  • I'm sorry, I cannot support this. This is just not up to my skill set.

  • @nige4958 Once again, Nige the asshole, brings encouraging words to the brewing community. If you don't have anything nice to say....

    Goddamned troll.

  • when beerichituba made his homebrew,i asked him to package one in a metal container and throw it in the ocean in the direction of osaka.to my surprise,i received it 3 weeks later!.

i don't know if it will work through the atlantic ocean & i am now in hong kong, but if u want to do the same thing and address it to jeff...i would love to try it!

    cheers.

  • Naw gushing usually happens because pressure hasn't built up enough to force the CO2 into solution yet. I can almost guarantee that it's just not done priming, give it another week or two. Three weeks is usually plenty of priming time though, so it's possible that it was infected but usually if it's infected you'd know right away - it would not taste like beer.

  • Imasohappy tried by the lady that looks like she should be named imasosad.

  • Gushing can happen from time to time. Alot of the comments I've read can all have happened. Don't let it discourage any future brewing. Good luck in the future.

  • Glad the rest of the beer is ok, congrats on a successful batch.

  • how can I buy one of these from you guys?

  • NOT GOOD

  • what's your pay pal address? I'll order a bottle - From the looks of it it will be the best head [of beer] I'll ever get!.

  • I know how you can improve on this. Go to the store and buy a 6 of Sierra Nevada . Leave the brewing to the experts, like Jim Koch, Garrett Oliver etc.

  • You only had one fizz up and gush out of 48 ? How many did you open?

  • very nice job guys so abv ?? have fun drinking

  • @BigKingBacon heheh... Melissa is a babe :)

  • Forgot to ask : WHAT did you use to prime, and more importantly- how much did you use either in the batch or the bottle?...cheers guys... Beware of the dreaded - BOTTLE BOMBS!!

  • Overprimed,could of been worst,bottle bombs.

  • @Aubreytrike Touche'

  • Hey guys, this is what I found out online about "gushing" : (not in my words) Most cases of gushing homebrew are due to overpriming or microbial spoilage in the bottle. Avoid these problems by carefully measuring priming sugar and practicing good sanitation. Technically, malt made from Fusarium (mold) infested barley makes beer that gushes. live and learn... If anyone tells you they never had a problem somewhere during making a beer is lying or FOS or both ;) Cheers guys!

  • @ACTeslaMachineDC Several comments suggested the bottle may have had something in it they could have infected it. And the more I think about it, that is probably what it was. I cleaned and sterilized 48 bottles for the batch. I realized I needed one more, and my buddies had an extra. I assumed it was sterilized, but now I'm thinking I was wrong to assure! Thanks!

  • TSA would say GREAT HEAD!! ...but he's a moron so..lol

  • Never saw a married man get so much head before in me life.

  • This is my goal for 2011....start homebrewing....

  • "maybe we should just leave it at jeffs " lmfao !!!!!

  • @BigKingBacon lol !!

  • You hot a gusher! That happens every now and then with my homebrews, did you chill it quickly in the freezer? I find that sometimes causes the gushers... Put a few bottles in the fridge and give them a couple hours, be gentle and hopefully it won't happen again!

  • How do you stop it?! YOU DRINK IT!!! I think you are on to something. Youv'e figured out how to bottle head. Congradulations on your first run. Your'e not vergins anymore.

  • The same thing happened with Chad's homebrew that time.

    Nice TakeSomeAdvice impression there ;)

I would definitely like to get a bottle of Imasohoppy!

  • @ChadzBeerReviews

    And it was CAUSED by.....?

  • The way the head formed it looked as though you didn't pour it into the glass right but I could see you did, interesting I've never seen that before. Good review.

  • Oh, I didn't know it was a double IPA.

So the excess head is either because of excess sugar, or there were other things (possibly) in the bottle, or just because it was from the bottom of the carboy.

You should try the very first bottle and see how it is.

I'm glad it tastes good! Hope to see more from you guys.

  • Where can i get a imasohoppy

  • Yesterday I opened a 22oz bottle of the IPA I brewed and it also foamed like crazy. The other bottles I've opened poured nicely though. I'll make a video of me tasting it ASAP.

Should be posting my Dogfish Brewery footage either today or tomorrow.

  • 50 cents a beer?.... I'll take 6 lol. Another awesome vid

  • Glad you like the taste! Great to hear that none of the other bottles are doing this and congrats on your homebrew. Whatcha brewing' up next?

  • I wouldn't write off the whole batch as being over carbonated. Did you batch prime or did you put sugar in each individual bottle ? If the latter there is a good chance that one bottle was just over primed, it's hard to be consistent that way. If you batch primed there could have been a piece of crud in the bottom of the bottle causing infection. Infection will cause a beer to be over carbonated usually leading to the stories of exploding bottles. Finally if the whole batch is over carbonated

  • and it continues to taste good then it most likely was bottled too early and hadn't finished fermenting. In any event I recommend drinking up and enjoying. you should try a few more just to see if it was the one bottle though :)..Drinkz da Beeah..

  • You didn't fail at making a good beer, you succeeded in making the best volcano I've ever seen.

May the love of God be with you and your family.

  • Heh, adventures in home brewing! As it's been said before, looks like over-priming. Other than that, it sounds like you guys did a good job with it. Nobody makes a perfect batch their first time in. Stick with it! If the beer is smelling and tasting good, you're already ahead of the game.

  • You may have used to much priming sugar or the 49th beer may have had more yeast sediment, that may have contributed to the over carbing. We've all had them. It still looked good. Cheers.

  • I'm on the IPA big lately. I went to Maine recently so I've been enjoying Shipyard IPA.

  • I love the imasohoppy beer . Best beer i ever had . Keep them coming .

  • excellent, glad it came out well, congrats!!

  • awesome!

  • WOW ON THE FORM! Honestly I have no idea what that means (chemically and taste bud wise). Great review as always. I know you stated you didn't know the ABV, but if both of you had to guess (even a rough guess) what would you say?

  • @MidnightSundowns Whoops! I meant "WOW ON THE FOAM" :)

  • @MidnightSundowns Eu- I'm thinking the Imasohoppy would come in at around a 7 or 8 ABV judging by the taste and the affects!

  • Over primed, or it could be an infection. How did you prime the batch?

  • @PeiHomeBrewer what do you know beer? you douche

  • @wkawk2416 Go away troll, your not welcome here with civilized people.

  • @PeiHomeBrewer Have you checked out my Partial Vids yet PEI?...gave you a shout out in one of the vids.

  • @ACTeslaMachineDC Not yet. Which ones are they?

  • @PeiHomeBrewer My newest ones about Partials

  • Comment removed

  • @PeiHomeBrewer Need a map to find them? lol

  • "We can always snort it." - LOL

  • Joe Ds mind would of just exploded with all that "SMOKE"... ahahaha that is all I could think off the second it got opened... "We can always snort it" best line ever ! Im happy it tuned out better after the first bottle... A+

  • over primed!

  • @mattsarg Ditto.

  • Congratulations. A real proper beer. Like champagne. Good head. Well it's all about learning from brew to brew. Great vid. Cheers, Tim

  • Awesome video, i'm happy to hear it was a success!! who knows why that bottle was so overly carbonated, my guess is since it was the last bottle you filled, it got the butt end of the yeast sediment and carbonated reaaaly aggressively. I'm not a homebrewer though, but that's my guess!

Im so glad to see you two back with a video, Keep em comin!

  • Rename it to Imasofoamy :D I'm glad you enjoy the taste and smell, looks good too when the head goes down. It's all a learning experience for you guys so the next attempt should be excellent.

  • Nice! Glad it worked out for you guys!

"we can always snort it" that made me LOL haha.

when u guys tried the other bottles, did any malt characters come through or was it the same?

  • Beercano FTW!
