  • katrina was a train we could all see it was larger than the guff and yet all

thes people stayed bush even said on tv get out of its way but thay stayed

if a person stands on train tracks and sees the train and has time to move

and didnt thay need to hit and and have to sit on top of there

house and should have to wait the next time they might leave its not the gov place to make sure you get

to safty from a storm thay knew was going to hit for 6days stay out of the rain stay dry

  • i am ashamed to say that he is the governor of my state. what a hillbilly.

  • um because of the storm surge--the "brunt"-- a great deal of the coast was under water, then sucked with the water back out to sea.

  • I guess dissent is not allowed here

  • I agree. This is comparing apples to oranges. The brunt of the storm hit Lousiana. Bilouxi got hit, but New Orleans had the levees blow.

  • Boy,is this video disgusting! Leave it to the Republicans to divide America into "us" vs. "them" in a time of tragedy. Well, if we are going to play that game Mr. Barbour, how come Louisiana is doing so much better than Mississippi now?

  • Wait a minute. They vs them? This was all started by folks in New Orleans saying Bush was racist. Then the blame was on the Feds and so on and so forth. I will never forget what a LA national guardsman told me when he was in N.O. He said here were hundreds of people walking up wanting food and water. So MREs were provided and some peoples response to the MREs..We dont eat this shit! Pity,

So Doc, where is the empirical for the "doing much better" statement?

  • My 80 year old mother lives a block frm the beach in Pass Christian, MS. It is called being an eye witness. I knew New Orleans would survive April 2008. I knew Pass Christian would survive this last May.

  • Have no idea what you mean, but OK.

  • McCain voted against Katrina relief several times!! LOL

  • BTW Louisiana Republican Congressman Richard Baker of Baton Rouge, had a very comprehensive "Baker Plan" for our recovery that would have paid the Federal Government back for every dime spent to help in our recovery. Pres. Bush & Don Powell rejected their fellow Republicans plan. WHY? Now we're stuck w/ The No Road Home. Vital infrastructure has yet to be repaired. No Sewage for 2 yrs!!!

  • The Royal Canadian Mountees were in our Parish providing valuable search & rescue, aid, food, water, etc. days before our USA (Strongest Country in the World) showed up. I don't care how much Bush disliked our government officials. He has abandoned American Citizens & made a speech full of empty promises. I guess he'll make good on those promises when Bobby Jindal becomes governor. Whatever respect I had for Bush as our President has turned into utter disrespect!!

  • I never knew about the mounties...

  • You can read about it on St. Bernard Parish

    Government link.

  • Thanks for the info. I'll deinitely read it...

  • As a resident who lost everything in St. Bernard Parish, LA, I'm appauled by your comments. While we were all devasted, the circumstances were vastly different. The water stayed in our homes for more than 3 weeks because of Katrina & Rita. We were responsible but our so called Federal government failed LA w/ bias political agendas.

  • People in Mississippi don't like Haley Barbour anymore. John Arthur Eaves is going to mop up this mess.

  • Pearlington, Waveland -- 19 feet of water, MORON! Piss and moan about New Orleans all you want ... just ask yourself, 'Why did these people stay?' and 'Why didn't New Orleans use the hundreds of buses (that flooded) to move the people only 27 miles north to dry land and security?'

  • New Orleans is located where it is for a reason. Ships could enter the lake, travel down Bayou St. John, and only a short portage to the city was required after this. Katrina proved the importance of MR traffic. New Orleans did not flood on the natural levees where settlement prevaled until the early 20th century when screw pumps began to empty the swamp. Flooding in New Orleans did not occur until after the storm when the stress on the half-assed Army Corps levees came to its breaking point.

  • N'awlins is and has always been 3+ feet below sea level. The indians told the French not to build there for this reason. Until they relocate, N.O. is jacked.

  • Wake up people... it was the RWCD that were to blame, the "Republican Weather Control Devices" they caused Katrina, and they caused anything bad that has happened in history.

  • and im not saying mississippi got it worse than louisiana, you do need to realize that it is not all the federal government to blame, it is way more state than federal

  • New Orleans had a bad problem after the hurricane, but i will say i am from the mississippi gulf coast and my city didnt have 15 feet of water, it only had 31 feet my friend.. and stop saying it was because they were black, the federal and state governments could have never been prepared for anything of that magnitude.. people not from here have no idea how bad it was for louisiana and mississippi

  • Plus Louisiana don't have a million casino's either!!!

Also, the water rolls in & out everywhere except Louisiana.

  • I agree with you. Bush didn't give a damn about Louisiana since the areas hardest hit were predominately black/African-American neighborhoods.
