It's a very good series, but since Fry's celebrity status sky-rocketed it's hard to watch him as a character actor now. He's always 'that bloke from Q.I.', the guy from twitter..the famous mac user, etc. It seems like a long time ago that he was Jeeves or Oscar Wilde, or all the characters from ABOFAL. He's now like a Cary Grant, a John Wayne..he plays a version himself. Tony Slattery plays a more convincing role.
I love this show as much as I love Doc Martin and wish him and Martin Clunes could do another show together with Hugh Laurie well I can dream can't I?
@rileyandstella Hahah they did one such show together. Some of the Jeeves & Wooster episodes that some kind soul has uploaded to YouTube already. In some such episodes, Jeeves is, of course, played by Stephen Fry. Bertie Wooster is played by Hugh Laurie. And Barmy Fotheringay-Phipps is played by Martin Clunes.
@trixwiz7 Yes I know that but now that they are older and more well known it would be fun to see a new show with them together. I know most of their fans would agree.
Posted that too soon, also wanted to say thankyou so much @ivorykisses for posting these videos, I will be addicted to your channel for the forseeable future! :o)
Why did they cancel this? It was bloody brilliant.
ITV give shows a chance for goodness sake. Bring this back, and cancel the waste of airtime Dancing on Ice, Biggest Loser and all the other tosh. I did all that without swearing.......(That's good for me)
@EastendersBlog Making something with quality costs too much for ITV. Far cheaper to make another series of the XFactor or just show imported US trash.
In the opening he wears a suit from the little clips between the sketches, on a bit of fry and laurie. The one that the passionate Englishman wore, if you know the clip...It's alarming that i noticed...xD
Have just found this wonderful series, better late that never, it is being broadcast on italian tv, so is dubbed and loses alot. Its lovely to have a programme that has drama commedy and the wonderful views of Norfolk, and of course anything that Stephen Fry does can not be bad.

What I like about British tv programs is that in the US we have to have sex and violence at all times. Everses the UK has some of it but there is more interesting story lines and plus they use the historical events of say WW II era to create a modern series. Great actors aand plots
Here Here! I love "Kingdom" but Doc Martin really is top notch. I've been going to Port Issac since I was tiny, so It was just lovely to see it as "Portwen".
What a wonderful, humane, series! I wish it would go on for decades. So unlike the sensational TV all about crime, evil and bad stereotypes - on all American TV and films. Instead, Kingdom is about compassion, going the extra mile for other people, and helping people with their problems to make a better society - ideas that American TV would never, ever consider. Plus actors who can really act and have some range. Writing which is character driven. Fry and Co are a class act!
I just told someone at work - a customer about Stephen Fry's Kingdom and also his weight loss. It's inspiring I think. She is going to watch the show. She didn't know he did comedy with Hugh Laurie who is huge over here in USA as House.
The title of the shows on youtube are Kingdom; Behind the Scenes the one for the dog is 5/6, but you should really see all of them. They explain alot about the show.
Thank you so very, very much for uploading these! I can't wait for series 3 (and series F of QI)! My grandmother's from King's Lynn and I've been to many of the places they film and it just warms my heart to see them again. I wish we could get this in the US. The opening music is great too!
Thank you, ivorykisses for giving us this wonderful series! You Tube is the only place I can see them so far. I hear they will be coming to PBS in the near future. A bit of trivia: I didn't know that Peter's aunt played by Phyllida Law, is Emma Thompson's mother.
i really like this, however, as its set in norfolk, and filmed in norfolk, why do the locals have a wierd "country" accent made up of west country, yorkshire and all sorts. it would be lovely if they had recreated the endearing "narfuk aaaxsunt"
Oh wow, thank you so much for uploading this show. I managed to catch a small portion of one episode and really liked it, sadly we don't get this show where I'm from.
just find a clip if not this one that showcases the song, and go into start menu, programs, applications, entertainment, and use the sound recorder to record the song.
Nooo. I know exactly! *throwing my chest with pride*. I myself was allowed to mesure him with a ruler...*sigh* Well,no. But it was written so on his official site! :PPP
The real Market Shipborough Is A Town Called Swaffham In Norfolk i Live about 20 Mins away in Thetford i have been up there when filming has been going on its quite funny seeing cars follow sign's of BEACH THIS WAY when there isn't a beach there at all most of the beach shots are filmed at Wells On Sea and Cromer & Yarmouth

Plus when there is sex and violence, it (to me) feels more natural, because they don't have to censor it in the same way as they do in the US
