  • unbelievable sexy tune! Just Gorgeous °___°

  • Even if we are on the brink of anhilation, and as Buddha pointed out in his first noble truth "existence is suffering" there will always be pain in life and a vast number "unknown's" but to me there is enough joy in the act of drawing breath or communication with somebody even if they don't understand or care what I have to say, that I percieve life as a beautiful gift. If we were to be wiped out by nuclear holocaust tommorow I still say we'd have been exceptionally lucky to ever have existed.

  • @nickcarveth

have you ever thought of writing a book? seems like you're a deep well of information on this particular subject....i'm sure it'd sell; lol, just remember to give me half in royalties for the idea, haha

  • @chewynickerson thanks so much man, that's quite flattering of you to say. I have actually had a number of freinds urge me to start working on a book but mostly right now I just write alot of essays for academic purposes some of which deal with topics such as this. Although you're absolutely right I would love to publish some work of my own work on this subject one day and I certainly credit you amongst a few others for adding to the clarity of my arguments through healthy debate. :)

  • I think that all persons have a suffiecient level of awareness to be expanded and besides the wit of the common person is good enough for me. I hold no ambitions towards elitism. Moreover I made the comment mostly for the purpose of my own edification and enjoyement through the miracles of expression and electronic communication.

  • this is an wonderful piece of music!!!!!

brilliant and wonderful, its touch the soul & Heart!!!! *___*

  • All fans of this music should look up Immanuel Kants concept of "the noumenon" or plurally "noumina" which refers to a posited object or event that is independent of the senses. See also Carl Jungs understanding of "the numinous" as an archetypal expereince of divine forms which arise from the collective unconcious in the psyche of humankind.

  • @nickcarveth

lol....you seem to be forgetting that 95% of youtube's core audience barely has enough IQ to breath and surf the 'net, let alone get into deep, serious profound things such as psychology, Jung, etc. etc. and so-forth

  • @chewynickerson ahh, alas you may be right freind... fair enough... just throwing the suggestion out there in the hopes that somebody might benifit in some small way... (sidenote) I was pretty high on acid when I wrote that haha.

  • @nickcarveth

i think i'm right, unfortunately....as a species, i'm pretty sure humanity is fucked (to use that word rather loosely).... i think you'd have an easier time attempting to talk with alien life forms than to try to reason with humans....

  • @chewynickerson but aren't we reasoning with eachother right now as we speak? I'm not so nihilistic as that. Is there no approximation towards truth through science and rational dialouge & discourse? Human beings posess symbolic consciousness and (some of us) develope the abillity to perform "formal operations" or in other words the ability to think critically about our own reasoning. Perhaps I'm being optimistic but I think also that in general my point of view could be defined as rationalism.

  • @nickcarveth

yes, we are as a matter of fact; but that's only really because we are, how do i put this?, two "like-minded" people, in a sense; but either you've lived a very sheltered life or you're just blind and don't want to see the truth.....lol, no offense... would give anything to think like you do, but realistically (being a nihilist or misanthrope or not) i don't believe humanity has too much longer on this planet....either nuclear holocaust or "religious" wars will be the end of earth

  • @chewynickerson While I certainly agree with you that humanity is a largely irrational animal and that we do seem to be launching ourselves headfirst into self destruction. I have not been very sheltered I'm actually an addictions therapist and social worker because I myself used to have a severe drug addiction to stimulants such as crack cocaine... My experiences being helped by such kind people at the centre for addiction and mental health during my recovery inspired me to want to help others.

  • @nickcarveth

oh, i see...well you seem to have adjusted well; most people aren't really that fortunate....congrats. it's good to see a success story such as this; very few and far between

  • @chewynickerson Thank you so much for the kind words freind, I really do apreciate the sentiment. I'm actually thankful for all the bad stuff that happened to me in the past because i woulden't have ever chosen this career otherwise... Martin Heideggar once said "An organism is not a thing nor a process but an opportunity opening on to the infinite." Chewynickerson it has certainly been a pleasure engaging in this intruiging and good natured debate with you! My salutations good sir!

  • @nickcarveth

sure thing, man....no problem....the easy part was getting off the stuff, right? staying clean is the hard part, so i've been told.... just remember to keep a cool head and persevere, but it looks like you're already doing a good enough job of that already, right? lol..... btw, do you know of any other bands/groups/artists such as Numina? have gotten into the atmospheric/ambient/dark ambient music as of late...any help/info is greatly appreciated, sir

  • @chewynickerson To answer your questions with getting off drugs withdrawls are difficult and painful, but staying clean gets easier as time goes on (atleast thats how it was for me, I recognize everyones experience is unique)... It seems like the more distance and time you put between yourself and the substances the easier and happier everything becomes. As for other darkambient composers, I pretty much love everything on Drakulady's channel, I highly reccomend subscribing to it.

  • @chewynickerson I private message'd you some bands cause the list was too long to make it fit here haha! :)

  • @chewynickerson you might also enjoy the music of another dark ambient project called "Inner Vision Laboratory", their track "after all" is probably my favourite but they have some other really good ones as well, their sound is very simmilar to Numina in some ways.

  • @chewynickerson It was my experiences with hitting "rock bottom" as an addict and then getting sober surviving to assist others in the same way that I was helped by kind social workers and therapists that inspired me to choose the life path that I have. I am certainly aware of the immense ammount of gratuitous suffering that goes on in the word but the fact that there is atleast any small number of people with compassion enough to do something about it fills my heart with joy.

  • @nickcarveth

...then you must be the reincarnation of Buddha then, lol; i find it hard enough just trying to tolerate people without just being annoyed by being in the prescence of people (i,e movie theater, resturant, etc.), let alone being joyful about the minute percentage of people that actually give a shit about others

  • @chewynickerson Although I don't really believe that I was adressing youtube's 'core audience', I was adressing Numina's & Drakulady's audiences who generally I take to be rather an intellectual group of people. As well as people such as yourself who might share an interest in what inspires wonderful music such as this. Not to mention that as a student of Social & Humanistic psychology, I would probably say that the emphasis and value placed IQ scores with regards to intelligence are overdrawn..

  • @nickcarveth

lol....it's ok, man; breath in...i was only joking; but in all seriousness, i also believe that too much value is placed into high IQ's and the supposed correlation to higher intelligence.... i know alot of "smart" people who are, for all intents and purposes, pretty much mentally retarded....sad, but true

  • @chewynickerson Hey no worries dude, no hard feelings at all. I just wanted to clarify my points... I thought perhaps I had been too vauge in my previous posts... glad to see we are basically in agreement. :)

  • @nickcarveth

    no problem, man

  • i love this ambient music with a creepy element which makes you feel the need to philosophise about the universe

  • Ethereal and beautiful.
