While it sounds like a good idea on principle, the Balanced Budget Amendment is in fact a very bad idea. A lot of states have Balanced Budget Amendments, and they can work on the state level but not the federal level. Reason being is to help offset the cost of the BBA, states get a lot of money from the federal government to help make their budget balanced. The federal government doesn't have a federal government to help subsidize it, so to balance it they would need to raise taxes.
The only person that has the experience to fix the BIG problems this country now faces, the only one with the track record of fixing big problems and finally a candidate with the right moral compass to stand up for American ideals and principles! ROMNEY 2012!!!!

I live in New Hampshire at the Massachusetts boarder. I watched this tool almost single handed destroy the tech sector in MA. He was one of the biggest factors to the state seeing jobs leave, buildings like factories get plowed over, and then parking lots get made out of the land where the factories once stood. He was involved with Molten Metal Technologies bilking the state and Federal Government for millions as well. He is a scumbag. Vote Ron Paul 2012!

I vote for Ron Paul because he does NOT have executive experience to criticize. His ENTIRE political life has been spent criticizing those who have to make the decisions. Vote for RP, criticizers make the best Presidents.
I don't like Romney because he is going to fix the economy, and he was top 5% in the law department at Harvard. I know that my vote for Ron, will only help Newt, but I will still waste my vote anyways :)

@BIueberryPeace I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you honestly don't know what Reagan's economic playbook has to do w/ Romney's proposals. Most of Romney's 59 economic points are taken directly from Reagan's reforms during the early 80's. Not all, but most. Not everyone is a misinformed voter my friend (though I'm sure you and I would agree there are many out there).

@phillip84109 The problem with Romney is he is too status quo. He is not offering a balanced budget.. he wants to cap spending at $3 trillion, while incoming receipts are only $2 trillion. There is still a $1 trillion deficit there. Romney wants to continue and create more oversea wars that will cost even more money and will run up deficits.
Actually I know more than you about what Romney is doing. I read most of his 138 page plan.

The question isn't who can win the Conservatives' votes. All of the GOP candidates should be able to accomplish that, even screwball Paul. Obviously, Newt can win Conservatives' votes; BUT...
Conservatives' votes, alone, won't be enough to win BOTH, the White House and the Congress. For that, Conservatives must rely on votes from Independents and Moderates to secure those congressional victories, too.
A Romney-Gingrich ticket will produce a 'landslide' effect. Imagine a Newt vs. Joe debate...

While it sounds like a good idea on principle, the Balanced Budget Amendment is in fact a very bad idea. A lot of states have Balanced Budget Amendments, and they can work on the state level but not the federal level. Reason being is to help offset the cost of the BBA, states get a lot of money from the federal government to help make their budget balanced. The federal government doesn't have a federal government to help subsidize it, so to balance it they would need to raise taxes.
