A half of the game is in your head - I've tried this ball and the Penta and good as they might well be (in the hands of the pros) I get a mental block if I don't have a Pro V1x on the tee! Crazy I know but if you think you're going to duff the thing because of what ever's on your mind at the time of address/swing then duff it you will - my scew up happens to be the stupid ball on the tee. I have 2 dozen brand new Pentas sitting collecting dust! Potty or what? <|:-)=;

@tkenni - you can only shank an iron (ball is stuck in the small curve where the club head and shaft are connected) usually caused because you're standing too close to the ball - and the shank sends the ball out at about 30 degrees away from you - off target. Nearly always followed up by a few choice words from said shanker!

I played with the platinum version for a few months. Not the softest (compared to ProV1 or Callaway's iTour) but definitely spins a lot. My driver also carried 10-15 yards shorter.

the only thing is that you usually trade distance for less ball spin therefore its harder to check it up around the greens using a ball thats meant to be hit far.

don't think that really matters. you are absolutely right that the sacrifice of spin is a price to pay for a ball that is meant for distance. but it looks to me like stewart cink is playing loads better with the new nike one black. he hits down on the ball to so if he used the platinum and was playing like he was in round three of the accenture match play, he would be spinning shots off the fucking green.

I KNOW THAT!!!!!!! but he doesn't like when that happens. again like i have said in the SQ Intro video... if he is gonna advertise something he should either put it in his bag. yes he has put the new platinum ball in the bag, but he should use his driver for this commercial for these reasons

1. it sounds better.

2. it will be an honest advertisement.

3. the commercial would just be better!!
