Another thing is that it is futile to compare Christmas and Easter with Valentines Day. Both Easter and Christmas has a religious and family based and deeper rooting meaning to the term holiday. Chivalry can only come from a position of strength. It evolved as a concept hundreds of years ago, during an age when men (specifically noble men) had vast advantages over women. Because of this, men created chivalry-they acknowledged female disadvantage by trying to give them some perks and advantages just because they were women(ex. man always pays for dinner).
When you have equality (as feminism has enforced), you can't have chivalry. There isn't a way around this.

Another thing is that it is futile to compare Christmas and Easter with Valentines Day. Both Easter and Christmas has a religious and family based and deeper rooting meaning to the term holiday. Valentine Day is only about you cherishing your relationship between your woman and yourself which should be always expressed especially in a moment of surprise. Heck Valentines Day is not even religious. It´s roots in the Catholic Church are contextual and were made from a non-BIBLICAL source.

Chivalry can only come from a position of strength. It evolved as a concept hundreds of years ago, during an age when men (specifically noble men) had vast advantages over women. Because of this, men created chivalry-they acknowledged female disadvantage by trying to give them some perks and advantages just because they were women(ex. man always pays for dinner).
When you have equality (as feminism has enforced), you can't have chivalry. There isn't a way around this.

I hate this stupid holiday. It was so much fun in Elementary school/middle school then in high school it flat out SUCKED. It made me feel so rotten because almost everybody had a lover and arms full of gifts and I had zip. In college it wasn't too bad because it was mostly on the weekend and I could stay home. I can't wait for tomorrow when it's over. And yes I feel much more confident now than I did years ago.

I reacently found a study the news show HLN listed.
They say women are expected to spend an average 75$ worth on their male partner.
While men are expected to spend an average of 175$ on their female partner.
Men are much more expected to buy gifts for their girlfriends/wives then the other way around.
I think anything that gives one group special treatment over the other should be boycotted.
Things like Ladies nighs at bars also fits in that category.

Feminism + chivalry = hypocrisy. Chivalry IS sexist. It essentially means women should be protected and sheltered (and assisted) because they can't do that for themselves. Try opening the door for a man now and then instead, if you want equality.
I dislike holidays that tell you that you MUST give stuff. I stopped wanting to celebrate b-days and xmas when I was 11. I give friends things because I WANT to, not because someone else says I should want to, and I don't need a special day to do so.
