  • i heard a blue whale call at the aquarium in altlanta, ga, and i don't think it was sped up any, i believe they had special subwoofers and increased volume so we could hear it, and it was the lowest tone i've ever heard

  • Interesting. Great for my project :D

  • All I know about blues whales is that they are the largest mammals in the world, and they need to breathe near a surface and if we go near a blue whale and it makes a noise it will be so loud for us they would probably bust our ears, they are loud!!!

  • Is it true that we humans can't actually hear their sound underwater? I always thought that the octave was way too low for our ears to pick up...

  • Why is everyone talking about being scared? Sure I wouldn't want to swim with one because of it's sheer size it's kinda scary but I'd be more scared to be in the water with a shark. It's nature gentle giant; it's not gonna eat or kill you!! It's a highly intelligent creature. I find them incredible. 100 ft long that's just mind boggling!! I'd love to see on someday whilst in a boat or something. They're rare its sad. I think that sound is so trippy as well!!

  • @gingerisevil02 thats right. i will just be scare of her opening her mouth while im in front of her

    or him

  • @gingerisevil02 You're right, the whale wouldn't be the least bit interested in a human but I'm sure that's not the first thing that would be going through someone's head the instant they see a 100 foot long blue whale swimming at them, coming out of murky blue water, that you can't see more than 10 feet in front of you, LOL

  • I am imagining hearing that under water....looking behind me and seeing a blue whale heading in my direction. As beautiful as blue whales are....I don't want to get too close and personal with one...

  • My first though would be to 'GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE WATER' before I get swallowed by something 100 times larger than me, after being mistaken for a school of fish or something.

  • If I heard that in the water my first thought would be there's a mothafuckin ghost in the water :|

  • BASs

  • The deep blue color of deep ocean is scary enough and come with that sound...........I'll shit myself to death

  • Oh my god, I would be so f'cking scared! And I would also be afraid of seeing such a whale who can be 30 metres long... :x

  • I would cry if i heard that in the water. I went swimming with dolphins and the echolocation was terrifying, not to mention i couldnt see them under the water.

  • that call almost killed me in the ocean i was so freaked out man

  • that call almost killed me in the ocean i was so freaked out man

  • yeah.. imagine you're underwater all by yourself. It's dark and murky, you can barely see anything, then you hear this.. you're scared shitless then all of a sudden the biggest fucking whale you've ever seen come outta nowhere and swims right over your head...

    *faints*

  • @sadface0 fag

  • @sadface0 I would die of fear. I have somewhat of a phobia of whales.

  • I heard you can hear them from about 30km

  • Id Teleport home if i heard that

  • NATURE RULES!

  • Sounds like a big daddy...

  • Holla!

  • One of my friends is a scuba-diver. He went into a huge part of the Atlantic Ocean, where it was all empty, and he heard this whale call.

I showed this to him, he said it kind of sounded like this, only slower, and A LOT louder, as he said.

    O_O Creepy.

  • This is actually sped up 10x...and made a lot quieter...

  • whales freak the hell outta me lol

  • Thank you for posting! This sound speaks to my soul.....it is quite wonderful!!!!

It is said that the song of the Blue Whale can travel around the Earth.....I believe it!!

  • i would have a fucking seizure hearing this underwater

  • the ocean is gigantic! i wouldnt wanna hear that.... just becuz i would have no idea where and what its coming from

  • I'd rather hear that then see a silent great white!!

  • i dont no y they sound like that it looks like sum1 is farting

    or fucken takinga dumb

  • The blue whale can drop so low in frequency that you can barely hear it calling

  • the darkness of the ocean and you just see an enourmous blue whale with nothing else. I hate seeing videos of them on the surface they are so much cooler underwater

  • i just got an erection

  • freaky sounds...

  • aliens now heard the message and are coming to kidnap you soon.

  • Guys, you would go deaf if you heard that in the ocean. That call is 188 decibals. Thats more than enough to get your ear drums blown out lol!

  • We've gotten it all wrong for so many years. Whales are the kings of the waters! Sharks stay near the shore to stay out of the whales way. Their attacks are pleas for help.

  • Think I might just fart into a microphone and label it "Conversations with a whale."

  • That is sooooooo creepy.

We should kill all the whales before they get to us!

  • Fuck whales are scary as hell IDK way I just watched that.

  • Sounds like the Bloop.

  • then you listen to the bloop and go holy shit... mind blown

  • it sounds kinda sad

  • HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAH

  • @fresca9990211 FUCKA YOU DARPHINNN

  • And the blue whale is way huger than a fragillimus

  • lol the bluw whale is the biggest creature that lived on the earth of all time thats what stands on my guiness record book 2010

  • did u u know that the blue whale is the loudest as animal in the world??

  • lol this dumb fuck thinks it`s funny to laugh at whales

  • how big is a blue whale?

  • It's about 100 feet long and weighs more than 200 tons.

    So it's fucking huge ;D

  • It's the biggest animal that's ever lived.

  • Comment removed

  • No, obviously you don't. Because it's true. No dinosaur was even that big. It is argued that a fragillimus is longer than a Blue Whale, but not as heavy as one. So it's got nothing on the Blue Whale.

  • @Exclamation

That we know of on Earth.

  • i aint gonna lie if i was in the water and my stomache growled this is exzactly how it would sound... lmfao... hope i dont mate some massive female whale haha...anyways this is awsome this whale's are near to exstinction amazing to hear somthing like this

  • she said ,, i am hungry .. !! :D

  • For some reason, I find that hysterical! I cannot stop laughing. Ha, ha, ha.

  • wow

  • Ive never touched or seen a whale... but I dont know why they scare the crap out of me... I cant even look a picture of a whale... or a video. depending on the image I almost faint. WHY??

  • did a sibling or friend maybe hurt you with a toy whale when you were a baby? ....

  • I find whales to be scary aswell... its probably cause they live in the water and are bigger than me

  • i would...fucking shit .... myself if i heard that in the water...

  • You never will :P

the blue whale can't be heard by human ears, we can't hear that octave. But, they create the loudest animal call on earth, they are even louder than jet planes!

  • @fell9383 Funny part is you don't realize how loud that really is. I went diving with my cousin who studies them. He gave me these under water type earmuffs (no idea what they're called). After seeing a hearing one I asked, "Why do we need these?" He said, "Take them off and go back in. You'll hear why." I learned my lesson lol. They aren't in the Guinness world record book for loudest animal for nothing haha.

  • @Suckmykiss20 that's odd. I'm pretty sure you can't hear the sounds the blue whale makes because the frequency of their moans is below human hearing.

  • @branahawk Yea this is the California coast. And that's the b call you can't hear. Have you heard them in the Atlantic? Exactly so back the fuck off.

  • @Suckmykiss20 why so aggresive? just making an observation based on what I know about the subject. It might surprise you about what I heard or not. This particular recording is sped up 10 times by the way. So even if one DID hear a blue whale call, it would be difficult to recognize it in the background. But hey, you know better, because supposedly you heard them in the Atlantic. Right.

  • @Suckmykiss20 and before you reply in a typical troll manner, I will give you the benefit of the doubt and believe you swam around blue whales; while it is highly improbable that you *heard* them, you no doubt must have *felt* the calls, as they are, after all, EXTREMELY loud like you said, and it would likely make you feel the vibrations of the sound in your body.

  • I love blue whales. They have always fascinated and amazed me. How many are there in the ocean by the way?

  • They were like 200k before. Now because of whaling, there are groups of 2000 whales in the North-East Pacific, Antarctic, and Indian Ocean .

    What a waste..

  • absolutely brilliant =)

  • This is the lowest pitched thing I have ever heard!

  • oh my

  • Eep! That sounds a little scary! But, oh well. It's cool. Imagine what it would be like to be into the ocean and actually HEAR that.

  • that would freak me out so much, lol

  • @TheStemi4ever u cant hear that it is like 1215165180525181086512815 Hz

  • @TheStemi4ever You just would NOT hear it! What you're hearing here is a whale song played 20x faster.

  • @TheStemi4ever Or to swim right past one.

  • dis scary!..im bout 2 cry

  • thay can be heard from hundreds of miles across the ocean!!

  • WOW

i wanna see one in real life

  • Loudest animal on the planet.

  • @NinetiesYouth nope not anymore th pistol shrimp is
