  • Totally sounds like a Disney song. The Prince, The Princess and the Kitty Litter.

  • As far as Mike, he was definitely one of the better contestants especially in the early seasons and was a big reason the show took off, but Mike became bitter in the later seasons it seemed and lost some of his "mojo" so to speak. McShane is a good singer and is versatile, but he's not really the best at anything. Josie and Wayne have more raw singing ability than Mike easily. I happen to think that Wayne has better versatility than Mike, but I enjoy Mike more if that makes sense.

  • Just to be fair, Slattery had a nervous breakdown and hid in his house alone for two years starting in 1995 I believe. He was doing drugs and had lost it, big time. He cracked like an egg. You can find Tony being interviewed (google Tony Slattery Admiration) about this part of his life online. It's quite interesting. I'm proud of the guy and I don't even know him, but it's not a surprise that he was considered unreliable at that time.

  • After you listen to this a few times it's actually a very pretty song.

  • what else has Josie done? other tv or movies?

  • My absolute favorite Whose Line moment!

  • MIKE IS THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Mike had the best voice on the show, even Wayne Brady is bested by him. He did a gospel once, plus that paperweight song was perfect too!

  • haha mike mcshane is a ledge

  • I was the audience member who suggested the subject of a cat litter tray. Without any justification whatsoever, I still misguidedly believe I played a small but crucial part in the comic gold Mike and Josie created.

  • @SirLesterMarwood We got a fantastic song out of it, so thanks! I think the zanier, less obvious suggestions are best, because they require more creativity. There's a greater risk of flopping, but a much higher pay-off. Give this song a proper score and the way people don't pay attention to lyrics these days anyway it'd be an instant hit. Well done, SirLester. :)

  • That was amazing, my face hurts! ^o^

  • The best song ever improvised on Whose Line imo.

  • this duet has some of the best wl lyrics ever. "Whoever thought that our love would glitter standing her looking at shit and cat litter." You can't make this stuff up, wait, they did!

    uncensored. great stuff

  • "and who ever thought that our love would glitter,

just standing here looking at sh*t in cat litter"

    Fantastic!

  • It's hard to believe it's an improvised song, it's better than anything new playing on the radio today

  • This clip is a great example of why the UK show at it's peak was unbeatable- a joyous combination of the best in UK and American performers with Josie and Mike both at the top of their game.

(And also proving that Whose Line was never just about Ryan and Colin.) :)

  • Wow, you can tell how old a video is when you see the Short Play acronym appear in the corner! lol

  • I remember the first time I saw this, as nerdy as it sounds. I was hooked to this show ever since the first time I watched whose line.

  • this is genius. period.

  • I don't think I can ever get tired of this one. Josie and Mike are just to fun to watch. I really enjoy how Josie makes me believe she is actually in love with Mike.

  • Best Duet Ever, Hands Down!

  • I was crying with laughter, one of the best songs ever on whose line!

  • What a beautiful song!

  • I know Mike was on a lot for someone not named Ryan or Colin, but he should have been on a lot more. He was the best mix of singing and comedic ability the show ever had, and he gave 110% in every show.

  • I totally agree about Mike. He was easily one of the funniest and most versatile Whose line performers ever. It's just so sad that the American Whose Line never let him perform on their version of the show after an angry bust-up from when he found out his old friend Tony Slattery had been dropped from the Uk show for supposedly being "unreliable".

Don't get me wrong - Wayne Brady was good - but he was no Mike McShane.

    .

  • you know what i totally agree too.

you can tell hes giving his all by the amount that he sweats in each show.

  • @droog69

Im sorry, i disagree. Wayne can't be beaten by anyone.

  • @happymonkey39 I like both Mike and Wayne on these shows! :)

  • <3 Mike McShane

  • Whenever I'm depressed I just have to watch this clip and I feel better.

  • a love song about cat litter.....THATS talent!

  • "Who ever thought that feline defication could be such a swell and singular sensation!" Brilliantly ryhmed line there from Mike. lol

  • which episode is this from?

  • s*** and cat litter lol

    in he top ten duets

    no.1 is beached whale

  • Yeah that was pretty good - I've got that one as well, but I don't like Caroline Quentin in it.

  • really? i like caroline.

  • The fact that those two could get through that entire song without laughing so hard that THEY had to use the litter box...is remarkable to say the least! XD

  • I wouldn't say the best, but it's deffinently on my top ten best songs about cat litter.

  • This is brilliant!I love this one! x

  • I LOVE this! I watch it on 'Dave' and whenever this particular one comes on I'm in stiches every time!

  • Same here!!!

  • I love the way Ryan does that cat thing at the end... I've noticed him an Josie do just a TINY bit of flirting, also when they do theatre styles together

  • "Tiny"?

  • OK OK.. A LOT! )))))))))))

  • Very Correct.

I am more inclined to believe however that Josie Lawrence has this very rare acting ability (which I hardly ever see) - she can create chemistry.

  • That's true--she has chemistry with Mike, Tony, Ryan...pretty much everyone she works with on the show.

  • Is it just me , or does Josie look a dead ringer for Meg White of The White Stripes in this clip? (sigh) 2 of my all-time crushes combined! mmmm...

  • Man, I'll never understand fashion of the 90's.

  • just like they won't understand the fashion we have at the moment 20 years from now.

  • It's the *only* song that Clive Anderson has heard about Cat Litter!

  • Yes, I'm pretty sure that's the point of the joke he was making. :)

  • You know I remember this. Fantastic song.

  • Hahaha!

  • love the end where Josie pets Ryan!

  • Tee hee me too ^^

  • that was beautiful in a weird way lol !

josie lawrence rocks ! as does mike !

  • ditto, that was completely brilliant.... I've only seen a few times where the songs on the American version are as clever as these!

  • One of the best Song Styles
