My sister was at university back in 1991 and was a massive Runrig fan so was always playing their records. Even though I loved their music too, hearing their songs always take me back to a period of my life when I was very, very ill.
@andrew8833 - Haven't been to Skye (yet!) but my brother spent a week there last June in a cottage in the middle of nowhere & loved the peace & tranquility of it all. He was fortunate in that he had a week of glorious weather & said the scenery was just wonderful. He also went over to Harris which has some really beautiful beaches. The drive up to Oban & Fort William has some spectacular scenery with the rugged mountains, forests and lochs but maybe I'm a little biaised as that's what I like.
Can anyone please tell me....did Runrig write their own music. I am Assuming they did....but am just curious. There songs are all just soooo beautiful. Thank you:)
@erlmort Maybe it's for the best that he sings his own songs he has recorded with Runrig, with exception of a few classics of course! They both have their own accents ...
i am in love with this song too, i meant to hit thumbs up by your comment but i must have hit thumbs down by accident, & now I can't change it. sorry - you should have at least 2 thumbs up! and many more.
Thank you for posting this vid--my daughter first "introduced" me to Runrig last year and we're both huge fans of their music. First time I've heard this particular song--beautiful!

Yes, Calum and Rory Macdonald usually writes the music. They have recorded a few covers and re-arranged some traditional songs too.

Best Runrig song IMO, Superb. Working away from home just now and a little bit of Scotland makes Hogmanay seem real. Thanks
