  • IMO metroid prime 1 and 2 kick ass

  • This is, without a doubt, the best of the three.

  • Best game ever?

    mybe

  • This song is better than sex

  • @spiritandthehollows Clearly, you're still a virgin...

  • Whenever I enter Phendrana Drifts, I always turn off all sound but the music. It's so freakin' cool.

  • @ramzawilliamson hah, cool. i see what you did there.

  • The atmosphere of this game was great, though it made you feel a bit lonely since there was never anyone to talk to. It made me cherish what little remnants I found of the chozo's civilization all the more.

  • @seeibe Super Metroid does atmosphere better IMO, but I agree regardless!

  • I go through the phendrana drifts just to listen to this song. my god, such a great game.

  • I like Metroid but I can't take the backtracking. Especially when I think I need to go back to one place, and it turns out it's another. Ugh... wasted time.

  • For a second I thought you put the same song as Best VGM 02. XD

  • ESGENIAL

  • :')

  • The only things I didnt like in Metroid prime 1 and 2 was searching for Artifacts and Sky temple Keys

  • I remember having this on the Gamecube thinking how no game will ever look as spectacular as this.

And you know what? Years later and that still holds true.

  • @THEBIGONE4444 So true. Great comment.

  • @THEBIGONE4444 When you think about it, the GameCube had quite a few games that still hold up well today even in the graphics department. This game and The Wind Waker are what comes to mind first thing, and games like Resident Evil 4 and Twilight Princess still look gorgeous too.

  • @THEBIGONE4444

    Nope.avi

  • I never beat Flahgraa. I have no clue what to do, so I never got anywhere near this great song., T.T.

  • Oh, God, there's nostalgia everywhere.

  • This reminds me of hit man blood money and metal gear solid 4

  • IMO this version is WAY better than the Ice Valley music for the area.

  • yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!

  • by far my all time favourite and most memorable piece from any game, when i first played the original, an ice landscape so well realised as this one was with this music really had me in aw (it got better and better as the game/s went on aswell :P

  • metroid prime 3 sucked!! was too easy for me

  • When my older brother told me to buy this game, I thought he was nuts but when I began playing, I couldn't believe my eyes. The graphics were so beautiful, the atmosphere was perfect, the music wrapped around my heart and squeezed out my emotions. Metroid Prime 1, in my opinion, the best Metriod Prime out of the trilogy

  • Prime 1 was awesome. Prime 2 was freaking HARD, but still good. Prime 3 had alot of new things i like but also some i didnt, but all and all was a little better than prime 2. I've noticed however that all the games had their own distinct style to them, i didn't think of them so much as a trilogy as i did them as their own seperate adventures, with a few similarities.

  • one of the only first person shooters that was actually GOOD. All the FPS games nowadays are short and focus on killing a bunch of enemies on one set linear path. I like how this one was more of an adventure game. We need more FPS like this. Getting power-ups is rad.

  • @TheTKC

Well, Nintendo did classify this as a First Person Adventure, not a shooter. Listening to these tunes really makes me want to start playing all over again. :)

  • I tried recreating,= this song, I don't think it can be done. It's too good, and the people on charge of this games music had a sense of genuis when it came to music.

  • Never in my life have I played such a masterpiece. Halo can go suck one.

  • the build up is the best part of this song. the climax of it on its own isn't that great, but when it is paired with a peaceful, subtle buildup, the climax of the song is absolutely incredible. the best part is that if the climax were any stronger, it would detract from the song because it just wouldn't fit the buildup.

  • What a brilliant track...... Calms me down a little, and that's a big thing for me :P

  • Majora's Mask does kick ass, though.

  • Dude you really should do the main theme for this game, I LOVE IT!!!!!

  • This has to be one of my favorite VGM tracks

  • I hope other M has a track similar to this.

  • dayum 8 years old?

yet i still remember the some maps clearly >.>

  • i used to leave the game still just to listen to this track for a while. good times.

    thanks for uploading this.

  • This sound a lot like it was stolen from a Donkey Kong Country game.

  • MP comes pretty darn close to perfection for me, and I also love Echoes. MP3 is also a fantastic game, but it took some weird turns that don't appeal to all fans of the series.

  • *sigh* kinda makes me sad cuz i only got about 3/4 through this first one on the gamecube and never played the others...

    was GREAT while it lasted

  • 1:36 love this

  • Love this song. Never played the Prime games, but I always liked the OSTs

  • In retrospect, I didn't enjoy Echoes until I got to the Sanctuary Fortress. It had great music and a my favorite boss battle in the series (Quadraxis). Not to mention the Screw Attack. >_>

  • Epic game, epic song

  • This is one of the best songs in the metroid series and it always got me into the mood and i loved killing the two flying Space Pirate Troopers via fire in this area. This music is just so freaking epic that i sometimes just sat in the Fendrana drifts just to listen to this music!

  • YES! You have no idea how long I have waited for this to appear on the list. There is no doubt that Phendrana Drifts was the most magical area of the game to explore, and this was helped out hugely by the stellar music.

  • oh yeah this song depressed me

  • Awesome game, music and art, couldn't ask for more. Too bad some of the eye candy was removed in Trilogy... (you know what i mean, right?)

  • I prefer the tallon overworld music.

  • 100% Awesome, check out Metroid Metal.

  • It fits perfectly with the ambiance of the level...Just by listening to the music we're really feeling into an ice cavern!...

  • Uploaded on my birthday!!!

  • It took you 605 songs to get to another Metroid Prime one? For shame. You gotta do Magmoor Caverns next for this.

  • This game is perfect in every way.

Hyperbole? No, this is my favourite game of all time, and the Wii version is even better than when i played it first on GC.

  • Yes. Metroid Prime was a fantastic game, easily one of the greatest ever made. Not even its own sequels could live up to the standard it set for immersive, deep adventures.

  • I am disappointed by that. Metroid Prime's 2 and 3 are to Metroid Prime 1 what Majora's Mask is to Ocarina of time. They compliment each other, filling in the gaps that the others didn't. Prime 1 had the history and the openness, Prime 2 had the atmosphere and the puzzles, and Prime 3 had the action and the story. Don't go saying any of them are inferior to one another, because they all kick ass.

    ...Ok, I'm done.

  • Don't get me wrong, they're all great games by any objective standard, but the first game set the bar incredibly high, and I was severely disappointed by Echoes. It just felt like an uninspired retread of Prime 1. Everything - the level design, the monsters, the power-ups, the story, the tired "parallel worlds" gimmick - felt uninspired. Only the graphics were better. I haven't played Corruption yet so I can't comment on that, but from what I've heard it's a different experience altogether.

  • @gatotsu911 Metroid Prime really is perhaps one of the most amazing gaming experiences anyone can ever have.

I really need to play echoes just so I can see where the story goes.

  • @sesstreets That's the main reason I'm playing through it. It's good in and of itself, but it's vastly inferior compared to Prime - it's outright boring. I just want to read all the log entries and experience the story before playing Corruption.

  • @gatotsu911 Maybe thats just because Prime was such a breath of cold fresh air. At least I'd like to think so =)

  • I agree; it took me a while to really be interested in plodding through echoes. Nothing really jumped out as new and imaginative in contrast. Never completed it or the first though... I shall at some point.

  • If you have a Wii, I recommend getting Corruption. I haven't played very far into MP2 so I can't really input my thoughts on it but Corruption is just as great as MP1. Such fun games. :)

  • I have the Trilogy and I'm playing through Echoes right now. I just want to be sure I go into Corruption without lacking any crucial story or world bits.

  • hey gatotsu. jus a favor i wanna ask lol ^_^' hey dude, plz tell me if Echoes is worth going through even tho i hear ppl say MP1 and Corruption r much better...wat i mean to say is, if it's still really worth playing even after MP1 and Corruption, because omfg do i love those games...and i say Echoes at my local Gamestop. again, plz reply bak, thx =D

  • if you have a wii just get the mp trilogy it has all 3 games on it revamped with corruption style controls

  • @DaLooseGoose11

My name is not gatotsu, but I loved Echoes. It's also very challenging.

  • @IntuitionJo Metroid is amazing. I was rather disappointed in 2 and 3 though, as 2 was like a maze and it was too hard to get around. 3 was mostly because there was only 1 beam... You've gotta have 4, it's tradition!

  • @IntuitionJo

I must disagree. Prime 1 had the history, openness, atmosphere, puzzles, action and story; Prime 2, while not nearly as good as the first, had good puzzles and an odd appeal unlike that of any game I've ever played; and Prime 3 was a steaming pile of shit with not a single redeeming quality. 1 > 2 > 3

  • @bsznm

You're disappointing, you're worse, and you're fucking embarrassing. There.

  • @Charmolution that is all true, but the prime games are still garbage

  • @IntuitionJo I preferred the 2D Metroid games, personally. That being said, I still found the Prime games to be amazing - it says a lot for a game when it can grab you in even through your own skepticism. They may not be on Super Metroid's level (at least not in my opinion), but they dwarfed every other type of action/exploration game of the past console generation by far!

  • @IntuitionJo Wow, I know this comment is old, but you nailed it. People need to look at series as matched sets when applicable, and which the prime trilogy absolutely was.

  • @IntuitionJo

Metroid Prime had Atmosphere, action and story coming out of every oriface, it most certainly didn't need anything to compliment it, and nothing did.

  • @IntuitionJo i agree to that, they all were epic and none dissapointed me

  • @IntuitionJo I liked the first Prime game the most. I hated the second, but only in comparison with the first and the third game was good, but not as good as the first.

My favorite Metroid game by far is still super metroid on the SNES though :)

  • @IntuitionJo Nah, each of them have great quality put in to them.

They're immerse and have intense detail.

  • @IntuitionJo No, sorry. MM > OoT.

  • @IntuitionJo Prime 1 also had the best music so it wins.

  • @IntuitionJo Amen brother.

  • This song is beautiful an mysterious. A great song and an amazing game.

  • I just posted the first couple of parts of my gc collection enjoy!

  • Metroid Prime 1 was the best, then MP 2 was confusing and hard to find the artifacts, and MP 3 was good, it was way bettar than MP 2 but not as great as Metroid Prime 1

  • @shadowg3 I haven't played MP 2, but I agree with you. The first MP was the best and MP3 was also pretty good

  • My #1 favorite single-player game of the entire Cube/PS2/Xbox generation. Too bad neither of the sequels really measured up in my opinion.

  • i never beat this game, but i loved the gameplay

  • It's not the best from Metroid Prime. The most that i prefer is the Tallon's surface music after getting the wave beam. That is so funky!

But I approve that this song is one of the best of this game, followed by the Chozo room's

  • hey darky how about torvus bog from mp2?

  • This is such an epic song.

  • one of my all time fav game songs of all time

  • Metroid Prime is 50% FPS, 50% adventure, and 100% mastery of art and sound.

  • @TheGoldenMushroom One thing I noticed is that although Xbox and PS3 games may have better gameplay, graphics, and effects. Nintendo will always be the master of emerging you into the game's universe with the aesthetic music, environments, and deep story. Metroid Prime and the Legend of Zelda games do this very well.

  • @Lrdvltr gameplay? Nintendo have better gameplay IMO

  • @TheGoldenMushroom Adding up all together for 200% of fucking win

  • @TheGoldenMushroom thats 100% better then most games =D

  • Wow, a 605 entry gap? Is that some sort of record?

  • I've got to play this sometime...it's been sitting on my shelf for a while. More good games than I have time for...any other college people feel the same way?

  • @diamondlancer I may not be in college, but I definitely feel the same way. This past year, I bought a ton of games that I had been missing out on over the years, and right now I have about 40-50 to beat...by the end of 2010 that will be at least 65 or so, seeing as 2010 has at least 15 great titles that I'll be looking to get.

  • @MassivCarnage

40-50 games to beat? I thought I was the only one! Yeah, my list is probably around 50 as well.

  • Oh yeah. I've recently picked up THREE collections that I haven't even touched, such as the Metroid Prime Trilogy, MGS Collection, and the Devil May Cry Collection. I also picked up the God of War Collection and RE: Archives, so yeah, I'm pretty caved in with games. D:

  • That's it?

My backloggeery confirms I have about 150 games thhat I haven't beaten @_@

I'm happy to say that no Metroid games are on that list 8D

  • @GarlyleWilds lol why metroid is a good game. start with snes version :>

  • No, you misunderstood. Of the 150+ games I haven't finished, Metroid games aren't part of them - they're on the 200+ I own and -have- finished.

  • @GarlyleWilds Ah ok then. Gj :D

  • I personally can't belive you have uploaded only now this master piece :D

  • It's just that he can't upload every awesome VGM once at a time :p

  • A truly amazing VGM.

  • yeeee he puted it in my birthday :D xD

  • Christmas special YAY.

  • 605 days has passed since Supra's second VGM from the same game.

And 8 years already indeed. Feeling almost sad, but there's been plenty of new VGM that has came into our mind from new games as well. :)

  • he doesn't upload every day

  • Still remember my first time playing through this game when I was 13. I got it on 12/26/2003 (right after I got a GameCube for Christmas)

    Metroid Prime for life

  • Love this track and this game. I'm hoping to pick up the Trilogy pack soon and play through all 3 games again.

  • Metroid Prime continues to be one of the best games I've ever played and it still looks great today. Can't believe the amazing job that Retro did on this. :)

  • I personally can't believe this game is almost 8 years old. Rarely has a game aged so well.

  • It's like a fine wine, it only gets better with time.

  • Doesn't wine do that to?

  • @SupraDarky Being someone who recently played the game for the first time, I to have to consitently remind me of that fact. It easyly stands up to and surpasses any current generation game, despite the fact that it will soon be a decade old, which goes without saying, is quite something...

  • @SupraDarky Prime is 8 already?! Good God, I feel old...

  • @MetalSonicEX So what :D , being young is so overrated.

  • @SupraDarky Yeah ...Damn right.. But super metroid and zelda games age very well as well :D

  • @SupraDarky Jeez...8 years? Really, eight? I'm dead serious when I say that I'm...surprised. I can still remember the Hanukka night that I got this game, and it certainly doesn't feel like it was 8 years ago. My, how time flies...

  • @SupraDarky Like a fine wine! Everything about it is still hugely impressive; graphics, sound (obviously!), controls, the lot. A true classic! Fantastic job, by the way, uploading all these great tunes. Keep up the good work, sir!

  • @SupraDarky Go play Resident Evil 4, same thing, that game still looks awesome years later.

  • love it!

  • This and the Underwater Frigate Reactor Core music are two of the most relaxing pieces of VGM ever.

  • this is one of my fav vgms of all time its my fav ice level and ice song =3 good pick

  • Teh calming song
