  • so im a black male with an afro and its always dry(but soft) and hurts to pick out, would this help me? or should I do something else?

  • Thank you for info. Very helpful. Can't wait to try it. I just did my BC and the hardest part is keeping this hair moisturized. Thanks again. You hair looks great.

  • @HolyDiva73 : You're so welcome! Thank you for watching and remember that it's okay to change the oils I used if your hair does not react well to any of the oils I used.

  • Great info. Thanks!

  • @dwhite952009 you're welcome!

  • Does aloe vera gel go bad easily? im trying to decide on whether im going to use aloe vera gel or aloe vera juice but im hearing that aloe vera tends to go bad.

  • @blugtar87: Yes, aloe does go bad, but you can use a preservative to get a longer "shelf life" Grapefruitseed Extract is one, but feel free to do research on others. Also, feel free to do a video response to this one (whether you like it or not) if you don't like my version and decide to tweak the recipe leaving a video response with your version may help someone else trying to find a product to moisturize their hair. Good luck & thanks for watching!

  • I have been trying all kinds of products. By the end of the day, my hair is super dry & crunchy. I will try your recipe. Thank you so much for the vid.

  • @marie2214 : You're welcome and thank you for watching!!

  • I have just recently started to go natural, and I have been moisturizing my hair with many other remedies similar to this one.I can already tell the difference in growth and everything! It's amazing! I plan on trying this as soon as I get some aloe vera gel. Thanks for all of the info! :)

  • @Aquaphina99: You're welcome! Thank you for watching.

  • Your curl pattern is BEAUTIFUL! Are you a 4a?

  • @jessypooh24: Thank you! I don't really go by hair typing, but if I were I would consider my hair a mix of 4a/4b and 4c

  • Could one use aloe vera juice instead of the gel?

  • @quifree03 : Yes. Some containers may say Aloe Vera Juice, but others may say Aloe vera gel, but it's pretty much the same thing. Just be sure to ALWAYS look at the ingredients list on the back of the bottle and the only thing that should be listed is "Aloe Vera"

  • I use this method also 2x a day morning and night. I use EVOO, coconut oil and water and put them inside of a spray bottle and spritz my hair and wrap a silk scarf around my head before I go to bed.

  • @sheenadavids: it's good to hear that you moisturize twice a day. I think it's REALLY important for us naturals to moisturize our hair day and night. Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • Wow, your curls are popping. I will have to try this mixture out. Thanks for sharing.

  • @saywhatsaywhat : Thank you for watching! If you try this out and feel that your hair is still not moisturized, then let me know and I will try and help you tweak the recipe! Good luck!

  • how often do you wash your hair?

  • @caramelhoney01: With my current regimen (which does not include wash n gos) I wash 2x per week. During the time I made this video I was washing 1x per week & if during the middle of the week I felt as though my hair was a bit frizzy OR if it was a really humid day and I wanted to go out with my hair wet I would place my hair under the stream of water for a quick minute then shake and add more of the homemade hairspray and go! Feel free to tweak the recipie to your liking. Thnx for watching!

  • your curls r pop-n very nice i will try your mixer, but i am not to sure about the veggie-gyl, n the winter, it makes my hair kinda dry.. thanks 4 tha video.

  • @braidsbombshell : Thank you! Yes, you can definitely tweak the ingredients.. I hope it works for you!

  • Great video! I use all the ingredients you listed except aloe Vera gel. Off to add it now! :)

  • @SPARKWISDOM : I hope this works for you! Either way, please keep me updated. Good Luck!

  • I tried this mix for the first time yesterday morning and I absolutely love it! I lightly sprayed my hair once in the morning and by night my hair was still very moist and my curls still looked like new! I wanted to wait until today to leave a comment. I wanted to see if my hair would stay moist overnight. It did! My hair was still moist when I got up this morning! I am soooo happy! No other moisturizer has worked for me until now! Thank you so much for sharing your recipe!

  • @addsend1: I am SO GLAD that this worked for you!! Happy Holidays and thanks for watching!

  • Thanks for sharing . I will try this out.

  • @st2675: I hope this works for you. Either way, let me know. Happy Holidays and thanks for watching!

  • Tried your recipe today for the first time and "oh boy" am I excited!!! My hair feels wonderful. I sprayed it this morning and kept touching it waiting for my hair to dry out and get crunchy (as it always does with my other glycerine mix). It never did! Right now (8+ hours later) my hair is still soft and my curls look brand new!!! Thanks so much for sharing your recipe! For me, it is definitely a keeper!!!

  • I tried this moisturizer hairspray recipe, but i used a different oil w/a little dove conditioner in it. It made my hair really soft for combing, this will be a staple product 4 me. Thanks 4 sharing those ingredients with us.

  • @HoneyBee277 : I am so glad I was able to help in some way. Thanks for watching!

  • Love this leave in mixture! My hair feels soo soft. I did my big chop 11Oct2010 and this has helped a great deal.

  • @Annieprn67 : I am so glad this worked for you. Congratulations on your big chop and thanks for watching!!

  • could i use shea butter and olive oil mix on my texterized hair

  • @Leavesbelowknees : I don't see why you couldn't. Do a test run (some people don't like the way certain oils work on their hair) if you like shea butter and olive oil, then I don't see a reason why you wouldn't be able to use it.

  • yOU ARE SO WELCOME

  • Your video was very helpful. I did my big chop on Sept 7 and my curls are just now popping out. I tried this recipe and it really works thank you so much!!!!!!

  • @niteterrors2 : I'm so glad it worked for you! Thank you for giving the recipe a try and for watching!

  • Thank you so much for this recipe! I need a good moisturizer recipe

  • @ThickVixen: You're welcome! thanks for watching

  • can i use this on relaxed hair?

  • @Patterson0399 : This hairspray was meant to be used on natural/curly hair. I don't think it would work well on relaxed hair.

  • thanks so much for posting recipe

  • @OkufuWarriors : You're welcome! Thank you for watching. I hope it works for you.

  • @OkufuWarriors : You're Welcome! Thank YOU for watching!

  • What is your hair type?

  • @LadyZ1913: I believe I am a mix of 4b and 4c

  • Do you live on the East coast I was told that Glycerin and Honey are better in the summer as the air is Humid. These draw mositre from the air and do the opposite in the winter.

  • @SimplyZeal: I think I read the same thing about Glycerine and Honey, but for some reason this mixture works for me year round. whether it's cold (which it is) or not. Maybe it's becuase I don't spray much of it on my hair? I'm not really sure

  • wll dis work on thick hair

  • aalicha1: Yes, this will work on thick hair.

  • Thank you! I am going to try to make this today for myself and my daughter. I only have one question. Is this spray very perishable? How long does it last before it may "go bad"? Thanks again. Your hair looks luscious, and I hope ours will too.

  • Redeemed2bfree - You're welcome. I hope it works for you. As far as it being perishable...The amount that I make (which isn't much) usually lasts me a little over a week with no problem. You can put Grapefruit Seed Extract in it if you'd like it is a natural preservative.

  • Great vid girl! I bet the honey kinda puts a hold on your curls...I'm going to try that!

  • slyknik21 - Yes, the honey does hold on the curl and it keeps the hair moisturized. just be sure to style your hair first. I suggest you use a little water like I do to kind of wake up your curls then once your hair is styled the way you want use the spray on it then leave your hair alone just let it dry. It will dry pretty quickly. Thank you so much for watching and I hope this works for you.
