  • He is more wheelchair than man...

  • Captain Pike is great.

  • it was brilliant to seen Bruce Greenwood as captain pike we never saw what captain pike was really like in the pilot episode "the cage" when pike was played by Jeffrey Hunter but it was a real treat when the first captain of the u.s.s enterprise was back and in the new star trek and i think that Bruce Greenwood would have done Jeffrey Hunter proud .

  • Jeffrey Hunter was great, but Bruce Greenwood was fantastic. I hope they'll bring him back for the next movie(s) and get him out of the wheelchair. Even find a way to bring Vina into it and hopefully they will have a better life.

  • Just cant reiterate enough how this is my absolute favorite video!! It really showcases Jeffrey-Pike in all his glory. I certainly wish both Jeff and Chris Pike had met happier endings.

  • Yeah Monlofmagnesia...I often wonder what if Jeffrey Hunter had stayed on as Piks...he was offered the part after theCage/Menagerie...I am certain im biased but I think Jeffrey Hunter(Hank Mckinnes) would have made a better captain of the enterprise than hammy over-acting Shatner!! And, like I said, NO ONE is sexy enough to do him justice in these remakes...not Bruce Greenwood..no one. THAT is my OPINION and im sticking to it.

  • Actuall, I take back what I said earlier...to borrow a line from number 1. in the menagerie..."shall we do a little time computation?" If it was the end of Pike's reign as captain of the enterprise, he would be 13 years older than we saw him at in the managerie...so a man of Bruce Greenwood's age is about right. I guess I just dont think ANY man is handsome enough to play Jeffrey Hunter's role and do it justice...Jeffrey was a tough act to follow...may he rest in peace.

  • Where would Shatner be now had NBC bought Roddenbury's original pilot, and had Hunter stayed on?

  • Thank You. I LOVED Bruce Greenwood as Pike in the 2009 Star Trek movie and hopefully he'll be there in the sequel.

  • Jeffrey Hunter was one of the hottest men ever, but Bruce greenwood was an insult as Pike...since he was old and gross looking. Starlog magazine states Gene Rodenbery thought Hunter was TOO good looking for the part, but wanted him for it of course.

  • god damn Romualins...sorry Star Trek nerds if i spelled that wrong!

  • i liked it better when, chris got paralyzed and whent into the planet were he lived in dreams. not when he died in the middle of the movie.

  • @88pie88 Did you even watch the movie? He didn't die, he was rescued from Nero's ship and was seen at the end of the movie.

  • About time we got a good Captain Pike tribute. Despite being featured so prominently in the Star Trek novels and comic books, too few people understand just how great a character Pike was. That's one reason I'm very grateful to the 2009 film - it helped to give Pike the attention he deserves, especially since he was portrayed as a sympathetic, strong, proactive leader with a soldier's snarky sense of humor.

  • Thats awesome mate, thanks for makin it.

PS. Thanks also for turning me onto a fucking awesome band.

  • A shame they couldn't get Ray Liotta to play Pike in the movie. He looks so much like Jeffrey Hunter!

  • @cdbutler1204 That is very true. But Bruce Greenwood is too awesome for words. And Ray Liotta probably can't whistle as well. XD

  • @cdbutler1204 I was just thinking this!!!!
