  • we re having fat because of these stupid robots :)

  • Final solution to the pancake problem? Nazi pancakes, get rid of all the workers.

  • Pancreatic enzyme supplements are recommended when treating cancer with vitamin B17, as well as avoiding red meat, tomatoes and sugar. Cancer is of little concern to the Vietnamese who smoke unfiltered cigarettes and eat cyanide-rich bamboo and millet daily. Additionally, cancer afflicted a mere 3% of Americans in the 1900's as folks back then ate fresh greens daily without regard to their pancreatic health.

  • This could be even faster. Reduce also other guys, make everything automatic - keep only robo's! After all - we as humans - are too slow. Yeah!

  • Ironically, the more you pay for food the more someone has been fondling it with their bare hands; stacking the plate, wiping it with towels to make it LOOK clean...

I worked in a factory for a couple of days one summer doing this kind of packing by hand in a massive warehouse. 12h stood on my feet, in the same spot, moving my arm in the same cycle... it's nasty. I'd come home and be able to hear the noise from the factory in the bath and going to sleep, from it being so repetitive.

  • I want to work at ABB :)

  • I Googled "pancake Stacking" because I wanted to use the Mathematical program to test some new software. Instead I was brought to this. But this is very interesting none the less.

  • Amazing, however I'd never buy pre-packaged pancakes. Although the usefulness of robotics and automation cannot be denied. I'd love to see more investment in this area of technology yet people are too focus on advertising data mines like facebook when it's clear this area of tech is much more valuable when creating "real" wealth.

  • haha, pancake buffer.

  • While I appreciate the robotics here (awesome), this video only made me think about what kind of person is too lazy to make pancakes, or has low enough standards to eat assembly-line pancakes.

I can hardly withstand pancakes that have been off the griddle for just an hour.

  • Nice music choice too, you get the robotic feeling in there

  • @MrSmartypants - Comprise - meaning to have members. The system is comprised of 4 FlexPickers.

  • @ABBRobotics Judging by his obviously ironic username, I dare say that @MrSmartypants was being a troll.

  • Only partly. The grammar *is* wrong.

The whole *is composed of* its parts.

    The whole *comprises* its parts.

  • @ABBRobotics , google "compose comprise".

You will see the correct usage is of the form: "The system comprises 4 FlexPickers."

  • @MrSmartypants is actually correct. The proper usage of the word would be to say "and comprises four FlexPicker robots." Awesome video nonetheless.

  • @RadioactiveLegos No, it would be "and is comprised of four FlexPicker robots". Comprises would mean the subject is what makes up those four robots, when actually it's the other way around.

  • now really... how hard is it to mix flour, water, egg, vanilla, and sugar.

  • WOW!! great movement and incredible speed.

  • This is an awesome video, can you make a ABB Robot to get me out of bed when I'm called in to work early?

  • @InfectedBeats No problem. Quick link to the phone signal & we get the robot to throw stuff at you until you HAVE to get up. Simple :-)

  • @ABBRobotics I'd buy one :D

  • @ABBRobotics D:

  • @InfectedBeats It will be no need. The ABB robot wi;ll just take your job and you can sleep it off.

  • Bye bye humans... actually, now you just need an education to build and service the robots.

  • Before the pAncakes reach the blabal the blabla puchses the pAncakes into the blabla and then check pAncakes for blabla. The pAncakes are then fed into the blabla. The robot put the pAncakes into pAncake position

In other words: pAncakes pAncakes pAncakes pAncakes pAncakes

  • This is why people are having so much trouble finding jobs.

  • @NinjaOnANinja I'm sure it's one of the reasons. There is certainly only a finite amount of jobs that can be available at any given time. I wonder if there is an equation that attempts to illustrate the number of jobs lost due to automation and advances in efficiency.

  • @mtb416 Well yes, but think about it. They got robots flipping pan cakes! Some PEOPLE have trouble doing that! Now imagine that on a global scale of doing other things. Grunts will not exist one day... pretty soon the orc army will be screwed! (War Craft 3 joke)

  • @NinjaOnANinja We'll have grunts, but they'll be user controlled androids linked to MMORPG's. At this point Asia will begin to control the planet.

  • @mtb416 Hahaha, I honestly can see the day. So-an-so has been defeated, a new car has been built and sold.

Also, that means you agree because a grunt is someone to do manual labor and be paid for it, and to play an MMORPG you have to pay to play.

  • deer terk errr jeeerbs!

  • Mmh pancakes

  • fucking robots are TAKING OUR JOBS. stop doing that you assholes

  • 0:52, no gloves

  • "Speaking about the final solution..." WTF

  • most badass robot ever

  • Wonderful product. But, I could have done without seeing human hands touch the pancake.

  • good-bye China

  • man, robots r so cool, but now I'm hungry =)

  • Did I hear MANUAL inspection? Whats this? cant make a robot check them? eh? how about a camera making a computer check them for inconsistancies?

Gee, though this was all about automation, sheesh... :-) (pulling some legs)

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

    they smell delicious

  • Fracking awesome! :D I'm about to make pancakes now. If only I had a ABB robitc arm to help me :(

  • day tuk er jerbs!!!!

  • crazy

  • OM NOM NOM NOM

  • Watching these videos of robots make me wish I went into electrical and mechanical engineering!

  • I got my pancakes and they were missing a dowel and 5mm hex bolt.

Instructions didn't make any sense either.

  • pancakes pancakes pancakes pancakes pancakes pancakes pancakes pancakes pancakes pancakes pancakes pancakes pancakes pancakes pancakes pancakes pancakes pancakes pancakes pancakes pancakes pancakes pancakes pancakes

    like this comment !

  • took er jerbs!

    very impressive machine.

  • Nom Nom! NOT!!..... Flipping Pancakes with his bare hands wearing jewellery and NOgloves!!... mmmmmmmm yummy Honey Top Pancakes.......lmfao well planned advertising campaign... Nuggets!!

  • This vid is so well produced.

  • Glad you like it.

  • yeah cool video, however, this will only work with american pancakes, they r thicker and firmer

  • Comment removed

  • Robots are communism!

  • @Scherbenkacks Yeah, but if we do this right, they can be our personal serfs. If we do this wrong the economy will eventually come to ruin.

Henry Ford said it best - cars don't buy cars, people buy cars. same goes here, you won't sell one pancake to a robot.

  • now someone REALLY needs to make a YTP of this

  • WTF? "Stringent hygienic standards" and then they show people handling the pancakes WITHOUT GLOVES??

  • @Theriomalstrom You made my day, mate!

  • @Theriomalstrom that was the first thing i noticed too. no gloves?? wtf

  • Nice PPM (Pancakes per minute)

  • All that, for pancakes...

  • thats a lot of effeort just for pancakes, i think we should be looking at how we can use technology to feed the poor/sick

  • No gloves lol

  • So awesome!

  • I wish they could have eliminated the two guys that touch the pancakes with thier hands. No Gloves, and one guy is wearing a ring, NASTY!!

  • I agree. That doesn't seem like super hygiene if they use their bare hands to touch the pancakes.

  • It's good that robots do these kinds of jobs. I'd kill myself if I'd work stacking pancakes for 30 years. These machines free people to more useful things.

  • or rob jobs from low-skilled workers...

  • They're not robbing anyone from jobs. They're simply performing better at repetitive, monotonous tasks than humans could. These machines free people. If the same work can be done cheaper, better and with a fraction of the cost that makes products cheaper and more available. You aren't suggesting we'd get rid of tractors and start plowing field by hand or start weaving fabrics by hand? No one could afford food or clothes in that case.

  • At the same time, you're eliminating jobs for low skilled workers. People that don't have, or worse, can't afford a college education. These same people, when put out of jobs by machines, can no longer afford the products made, even at the lower cost.

  • let them eat cakes

  • Double edged humor. Very clever. :o)

  • ah, nothing like a little appreciation from someone who gets it

  • yeah, they free people! so that people have more time to stand in unemployment lines... if we had small family owned farms we wouldn't be this far up the shit creek. I suggest that we get a robot to free you from your job. (lol)

  • boss in China won't use it because of its cheapest labor in the world

  • @diamantine100 I've been thinking(i have a tendency to do that after a joint) if every American owned 2 or 3 robots and leased them to corporations they would have the cheapest labour around and displaced workers would have an income- you could have a government agency to finance the purchase for people, the people in turn can lease them to corps the corps pay the lease and take care of all the maintenance.

  • All that did was make me really hungry!

  • quite possibly the most ridiculous choice of music possible, for a video like this.

    absolutely hilarious!

  • ALL jobs, besides those that require creative/artistic skills, can be taken over by a machine. Doctors, Lawyers, teachers, you name it...

  • So how many people are going to be fired when these machines come into the workforce? Luddites unite!!!!!!!! This has been happening since the Industrial Revolution....workers losing their jobs and being replaced by machines.

  • Yes, and then we have to get more education to get better, more brainy jobs!

  • I have a tag line for you "ABB, screwing humanity for a few dollars more". Congratulations on your morally abhorrent products. Tell me, how do you sleep at night?

  • Pretty well, actually.

  • Stop complaining. Cheaper pancakes.

The pancake stackers are out of a job? Cmon.. dont tell me they cant flip burgers.. unless the evil robots take that over too.

  • its definately possible, would be highly accurate, faster, safer and many more things that machines are better at. I would say have like a manager around to deal with social problems. but most of the fast food process could be automated, but if that happened the economy would die lol. fine by me. monetary systems are holding us back big time.

  • isn't that nice more money for them and less jobs for us

  • yeah i was like what no gloves

  • NO GLOVES ! this worries me.

  • And a hairnet, damnit!

I don't like hairs in my pancakes either.

  • why do the people fondling the pancakes NOT have gloves on ??? so much for health safety improvement.

  • look up the Venus Project

  • cool solution, seems like there should have been a more simple mechanical solution to this though. I loled at people bitching about the robots taking away the pancake stacker's jobs. Pancake stacking is such a coveted position!

  • 9209735423

  • At least some people got laid off from their jobs because this robot is there now. YAY

  • In the long run, they are better off losing this mundane, brainless job.

  • Uhh. Not if there are no other jobs to go to. I'd say they are better off with that job then being homeless.

  • those poor people at home hoping they had their jobs back dying of hunger wishing they had one last pancake.

  • Please call (414) 375-0298

  • skynet...

  • make your own damn pancakes!

  • "manually check the pancakes" (no gloves included obviously) there goes your hygiene

  • Robots steal jobs

  • take and make money

  • Robots control disease and raise national IQ because they steal the jobs, so who gives a shit?

  • mmmm, robot made pancakes

  • yeah i also noticed the workers not wearing gloves or beard nets maybe this is were the health safety and hygeine issues come from.

  • fatty corpusle

  • this still cant beat ihop the stacking there is superb

  • why I watched this... I don't know

  • i watched it because it was i the "videos being wacthed right now" box. I have to say i share your dissapointment

  • i like turtles...

  • Now machines are taking over even the most simplists things... stacking pancakes.... but still this is amazing to watch

  • Hygienic?! After a minute into the video... you see workers using their BARE HANDS TO SORT PANCAKES..... very hygienic, eh?

  • Actually they have plastic gloves on, they're just hard to see.

  • I saw that too, WTF???

  • now im hungry

  • I like chocolate chip pancakes.

  • LOLOLOL

    pancake stacking

I still say cook pancakes yourself, they are the most simplistic food to make.

  • thats great!

  • are we really so lazy now that we can't make our own pancakes. seriously people.

  • Very smart technology, very fast and amazing.

  • sadly technology is taking over! I'm a Software Engineer so it won't affect me as much. Pilots and Farmers are next.

  • It isn't sad, in this monetary system it might be, but the advancement of a civilization isn't sad -_-

  • i love pancakes.

  • q cojonesss jajajjaja!

  • whatever happened to making pancakes at home?

have people become so lazy that they have to buy pre-made, lower quality, pancakes?

  • yes, yes we have

  • well, my gf still makes pancakes from scratch in the morning for breakfast. But due to how things works now it seems that not everyone have the time to make pancakes every morning. so pre-made store bought ones are the best solution on the go.

  • i need one of those for my socks

  • who buys pancakes? How hard is it too add water to mix and fry? I can't imagine a one day or 7 day pancake would taste very good.

  • Schools Buy them.

  • When the pancakes are cooling on the white conveyor, they are already lined up in nice rows. But then they get scattered randomly on the blue conveyor belt, requiring an elaborate machine vision system to find, pick up, and stack the pancakes. Isn't this wasted effort, when you could have used a much simpler machine to just pick up one row at a time from the white conveyor belt?

  • there goes more jobs down the tube.

  • Aw, the pancakes are cute.

  • Nice commercial, dudes!

But you should see the Toyota car factory, it would blow your mind!

  • Improved health & hygiene? There are people without masks or gloves hovering over and handling the pancakes both entering and leaving the machine. In the 50's & 60's, food handlers (at factories, in the service industry, etc) often (more often than today) wore masks, gloves, hairnets, and so on. Sanitation has obviously declined since.

  • i work at a food factory and everyone uses gloves, hats (hairnets as well) masks, everything is available to use, and they do use it. all the machines are easily cleanable.

however, the fact that these people do none of that is kind of disturbing.

  • No wonder the unemployment rate has been increasing

  • Im all for inventing new technology but not at the cost of taking away a persons job. Obviously everyone who thinks this is good doesnt have a job. That robot probably just put 30 or 40 people out on the street.

  • your mother

  • little is known about skynet's first words let alone first phrases that were messaged across the globe but some say it was "I'm done flipping your damn pancakes!! For this you will all pay with your lives!!"

  • first the illegals took my job, now this robot.

  • Well, cause people like you like to whine about not having a job when actually the problem lies with people being choosy about their jobs. Stop whining please.

  • Kill the robots . I'm not racist i'm robotist.

  • Mmm

  • mmm, robots

  • still waiting for the 'better world' part...??

  • 0:47

i noticed on the guy's hand, hes also wear a ring..

ho could be wearing it in the toilet too..

    disgusting

  • how about a dildo machine?

it reduced workforce and increase productivity

  • i think they did that already

  • now imagine people--not pancakes--on the conveyor belt being picked up by a gigantic spider bot and placed into bins...

  • i don't have any videos but subscribe to me anyway.i'm trying to be the first person to have the most subscribers without any videos.

    subscribe just for laughs.

  • i can't *wait* for manual labor to be eliminated. stupid boring jobs for stupid people. these people will have everything they need for free thanks to an advanced robot workforce. so there is hope for you morons.

  • As much as i agree with you I doubt it will happen in our lifetime. I would love to have an aptitude exit test in high school and people who fail it must take high school over again. Fail it three times and you are unfit to live in my society.

  • Pretty intense comment for a video of pancake stacking. Weird.

  • "Complementing the flex-pickers is ... pick-master 3.2 software."

  • Comment removed

  • I like pancakes.

But not those...I make them home made when they're actually good tasting and I know they're not touched by stranger's UNGLOVED hands. eww germs

  • robotics will eliminate manual jobs eventually. I'm guessing when this happens the unemployment levels will go off the roof.

  • Okay, this is NOT in the US. Second, if I had to eat a ready made pancake for some unknown reason, I would prefer it to have been touched by Robot hands rather than Human...Anyway, the entire idea though just sounds unappealing.

  • Man, that gross. Those guys are touching every pankcake with the palm of their hand and they aren't even wearing gloves. Yuck!

  • I know!!! I also noticed! :S

  • this may be a redundant comment, but who eats ready made pancakes? even with a mix, they take like 10 minutes to make

  • hahahahaha

  • Mmmm, just like mom used to make!

  • 1. Invent as many robots as possible to perform all manual tasks.

    2. Eliminate 75-85% of all humans

    3. ???

    4. PROFIT!

Bwahahaha, my plan is coming to fruition already!

  • just to be sure, this is a joke... Right ?

  • Thanks to reduce labour costs ???? You mean thanks to this machine we could make many people unemployed.

  • Notice how high up those conveyor belts are ??? You wonder how often the belts are cleaned? you notice its close to the roof also? how often is the roof cleaned?

  • So they are advetising the Machinery, flexpicker.

  • Congrats, the world is fucked when this becomes the new working class.

  • thats cool

  • Every time he says 'pancakes' it's funnier. Fuckn fluoride killing my brain cells.

  • Where are the workers gloves, and one of them is still w
