  • This is one of my favorite songs of all time. I play it in my sets as well. You did a BEAUTIFUL job.

  • @jmylestoones Thank you, this was always one of my favorite songs as well. I had the album Hums of the Spoonful and this song just really got to me, even as a kid.... Rick

  • Great job, man! You've captured the feeling of this song without any artificiality! I'm 62 years old and I still play this song on my guitar!

  • Nice job man...good voice, nice recording...Keep up the good work....Pretty guitar there too...

  • Hey brother good stuff, I have been in love with this song since i was a child and everytime i hear another rendition of it i fall deeper in love. I love how much passion seems to be woven into the song yet it sounds so mellow, nearly brings me to tears anytime i sing it. Thank you for one more awesome version

  • @SamboStarscream Thank you! I've felt the same way about this song. We got album shortly after it came out and this song was always stuck in my head as a kid(I was 8 at the time). I think John Sebastian wrote the perfect song here. What a songwriter!

  • Very good and nice work!

    Thumbs up! Yessi

  • Just me again! Sure do love this one! Hope to hear another post soon?!! :-) Thanks Rick for your friendship! min :-)

  • GREAT job! amazing! Guitar is awesome!

  • Fantastic, very nice voice, Rick.

  • @Ginieczka Thank you very much!

  • Yeh, I remember this one! I usd to play it and "Butchie's tune".

  • @fanoguitar Yeah, I used to listen to all that stuff. Loved it then and still do.

  • I love this...like the tonal quality of your voice...great cover!

  • @MrSoftshoe Thank you!

  • The parts are spot on. But why didnt you plug the ej160e ? It has that nice bassy sound as on the record..

  • @Hebdula I did plug in, but it just seemed to electric for what I wanted. That was the only part in the Spoonful's version that I didn't care for. Kinda out of place for the feeling of the song. I wanted a more acoustic feel.

  • @4AbbeyRhododendron Well thank you! I was just messing around with it, and started adding guitar parts. I tried to add a little reverb, but it just changed the feel of the intimate sound I was looking for. I do have a slight amount of phasing on the vocal, but you can't really notice it except through headphones. Anyway, give a call when you can come up.

  • This is fantastic! Never heard of this song till now, what a lovely song, great cover yet again

  • @IsaacBassMaster Thank you! This song never had any airplay, at least in the states but I always thought this as one of the Spoonful's best. Thanks again for lookin'!

  • @IsaacBassMaster Oops, I replied under my sons account!

  • Love the Lovin' Spoonful. This cover and your playing is fantastic!!! WOW!! Humble you, how you questioned this one is incomprehensible! This is perfect. You have a wheelhouse for LS too! So relaxed, lazy, dreamy, just wow, Rick! Love it. Blessings, min :-)

  • @practicing4 Hey, thanks min! Yeah I've always liked the Spoonful. I have loved this song since I was a little kid. I was just doing the guitar thing, and was thinking how beautiful these four chords are. So I just built up the sound by adding three more variations of them. Vocals could be better, but I kinda like the feel of it.

    Thanks again min, Rick.

  • @practicing4 Oops, I replied on wrong account!
