@jmylestoones Thank you, this was always one of my favorite songs as well. I had the album Hums of the Spoonful and this song just really got to me, even as a kid.... Rick
Hey brother good stuff, I have been in love with this song since i was a child and everytime i hear another rendition of it i fall deeper in love. I love how much passion seems to be woven into the song yet it sounds so mellow, nearly brings me to tears anytime i sing it. Thank you for one more awesome version
@SamboStarscream Thank you! I've felt the same way about this song. We got album shortly after it came out and this song was always stuck in my head as a kid(I was 8 at the time). I think John Sebastian wrote the perfect song here. What a songwriter!
@Hebdula I did plug in, but it just seemed to electric for what I wanted. That was the only part in the Spoonful's version that I didn't care for. Kinda out of place for the feeling of the song. I wanted a more acoustic feel.
@4AbbeyRhododendron Well thank you! I was just messing around with it, and started adding guitar parts. I tried to add a little reverb, but it just changed the feel of the intimate sound I was looking for. I do have a slight amount of phasing on the vocal, but you can't really notice it except through headphones. Anyway, give a call when you can come up.
@IsaacBassMaster Thank you! This song never had any airplay, at least in the states but I always thought this as one of the Spoonful's best. Thanks again for lookin'!
Love the Lovin' Spoonful. This cover and your playing is fantastic!!! WOW!! Humble you, how you questioned this one is incomprehensible! This is perfect. You have a wheelhouse for LS too! So relaxed, lazy, dreamy, just wow, Rick! Love it. Blessings, min :-)
@practicing4 Hey, thanks min! Yeah I've always liked the Spoonful. I have loved this song since I was a little kid. I was just doing the guitar thing, and was thinking how beautiful these four chords are. So I just built up the sound by adding three more variations of them. Vocals could be better, but I kinda like the feel of it.
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. I play it in my sets as well. You did a BEAUTIFUL job.
