totally agree with lesfarrington. drums, horns, and strings' balance is very zimmer-like. if it were a little longer, i might've even mistaken it for his haha

again...find some high woodwinds like flutes and get them flittering about every once in a while.

go listen to GUSTAV HOLST the planets....EVERYONE including ZImmer and WIlliams stole from Holst.

listen to his Interplay between different instrument groups.

and listen to how its BIG AND BRASH then suddenly soft and subtle. its THAT kind of composing that will cinch the deals in hollywood.

Could happen to every composer... I'm a film composer myself too, and sometimes when you think you've written something original and then it seems someone else also did something which is reminiscent to something else what you've never heard.

I am a film composer too, and I have the exact same damn problem as you arnevr. I hate it when you have a really good idea and then you realize it was already taken! Another problem is I go through phases, so none of my music is similar. I was going through a hard core classical phase, and now I just wrote an awesome ORIGINAL jazz piece. My band's going to perform it and then I'll post it for you to listen.

No I have no idea how to write music I do 3d animation and for that I just make tunes on a mixer/sound studio. I would love to be able to write music. Have you thought of sending your music to studios? pref movie music ones?
