Crazy at it is, this song was supposedly based on a true meeting Fogelberg had with his high school sweetheart at a convenience store. The city of Peoria renamed the street Fogelberg Parkway and the store is still there, most people probably have no idea of its musical importance! RIP Dan!
I had this happen to me recently, sort of. My wife & I were at a concert & at the intermission I walked around to stretch my legs. I saw a woman who looked familiar. I walked over & said her name softly. She turned around & instantly recognized me & gave me a big hug. We talked for a bit. She was my first steady girlfriend, 40 years ago. I followed my career and we divorced I remember this song playing in Harrod's as we were shopping for her Mum.
I recently discovered she passed away and the song this year will have a bittersweet memory like London does with me every Christmas.

had this just happen to me the other afternoon, I needed to hear this song just so i could feel 20 again. It's funny how certain songs can stick a knife through your heart and make you feel good all at the same time. god bless you all!
