@33andahalf hey they did it thats all that matters and simple is so much better whats the point in playing a complacated piece and messing it up?? it dosnt matter if hes tapping his feet he can do whatever he pleases just cause hes in a different kilt dosnt mean a different band it could just be to show that hes the lead piper or pipe major in the band
I don't play for Rosie's. I simply felt the quality of play was not very good. I hope they continue to play and improve. Every journey starts with a single step. Judges should be fair and judge on quality whether for fun or competition, otherwise how do bands learn? I do know piping as I learned in the 60's from Clan MacFarlane pipers who were North American Champions Supreme for several consecutive years at that time. As I said, no disrespect to the band but more so to the judging. Peace.
You must play for rosie's. its a grade 5 mini band competition, it didnt count towards anything they just went out there for fun. The placements of the judges was the solely the judges choice. its not how difficult the tune is but how well you play it "if you are a piper then you should know that"
I understand this band had never competed before and they just wanted to try it. Hats off to them for doing it.... This mini band comp didn't count towards EUSPBA points.
Also yes it was our first competition o:

This mini band competition was not a grade 5 competition. It was an open competition.
