We purchased an oven liner, for holiday cooking, had no warnings of teflon,or toxic crap that could emit. well 1st time we used it, my bird fell over dead within hours after cooking in the house. at 1st we thought maybe it was his time, what hurt more to fill his void,I got another. once again we fire up oven, he to fell over. we then put 2 and 2, and sadly knew the cause.

Strong winds came and knocked the cage over and the roof fell off, so all the birds just flew out except about 3 or 4. I gave those to my neighbor because I felt too guilty and didn't think I deserved birds for being irresponsible. Well, his mini doberman climbed in their cage and killed them. Sigh...

Wow, I'm so sorry you lost your cockatiel! I just got one the day before yesterday, and I love her to bits!!! She is so cute, she is a Lutino cockatiel, but she is VERY young, only a few weeks old, and she's really shy. I've been trying to give her as many food options as possible, but she doesn't like the Cockatiel bird food Pellets. My mom and I made our own toys for her, little, shiny, dangly things and she loves them, too!!! I love her with all my heart and I know she is amazing. <3

If you do want a bird, know that birds are first & foremost the worlds most performing shitting machines. Every 5-10 minutes it shits.

If you can deal with that, you would probably like a cockatiel. The part I like most about our bird is that it actually tries to clean our hair and expects us to pet her behind the neck afterwards.
