  • I just can't believe your singing...and in tune while getting tattooed. You're just leaning there like 'yep i'm getting my tattoo and i'm singing along not even flinching'. I like that. Kudos, Hopefully when i get some traditonal work done (if i find the right tattooist) i'll be as relaxed as you are and just take the pain in my stride.

  • get um girl.

  • damn ya'll look pretty as hell .

  • Talofa e, si loomatua! Nice support system there. Reminds me of my grandma! Malo faamalosi...

  • Malo lava faa malosi, way to hold dat key n getting work put on...Are you the same Te'is from Fagatogo?

  • no outsiders can't and shouldn't have a pe'a.its only for samoan people, but now a days, the culture and the custom only for samoan people and certain family members now I see any young girls have them but don't know the meaning of the pe'a or malu.and most people make money of it thats not cool.......if you had a pe'a or malu know and understand the culture.

  • Nice voice. :)

  • you have a beautiful voice! :)

  • love it

  • Hi what's the true meaning of the Malu ?

  • @80Leota

The malu actually originated after Samoa received the Soga'imiti . The story goes that two women wanted to prove that they too were tough and strong just like men so that is the meaning behind the malu . But the patterns and the Malu and the Tali Malu have a special meaning . Unfortunaly i do not know the meaning of the malu (the diamond behind the knee) but the Tali Malu is there to hold the Malu up , almost like the saucer with a tea cup . Each pattern has a different meaning .

  • You have an Amazing voice :-)

  • @kiwidiva I blame the mosquito that landed on your forehead.

  • @kiwidiva Is it possible for an outsider (Haole) to get a pe'a? I've lived in Hawaii years ago and have always respected the Polynesian cutlure.

  • ua malo toa,ua malo le tau,ua e malo i le au,o le faailoga o le u'u mau o lau aganuu ma la ta gagana i so'o se tafa o le lalolagi, the sign of your identity and specific heritage where you are,,E motu le ula,e pala le asoa ae o le malu ma le tatau e alu ma le tagata i le tuugamau, the benefitable of modern generation from traditional heritage as a part of the Faasamoa,

  • yall sound hellah good!!i wish yall kan kome and sing wen i get inkd up...lol!!but 4rios yall sound good!!who sing dat song?

  • originally, it's sung by maroon 5 - some white boys from england.

  • maroon 5 are actually american!

  • lol... so they are! i really thought they were POMS! they are good... for YANKS! i thought maybe i got them confused with ben fold's five but they're yanks too! oops - first rule of journalism... CHECK YOUR FACTS!

  • hey wat r ur names u look loke my aunty flo

  • oh, yr aunty flo must be BEAUTIFUL! we are the mosese sisters.

  • you know, it doesn't matter how much samoan you got in you, or whether you just have a little speech in the lingo, You got the malu all for the right reasons..

I dont get why your hated on,, but I hope for those who got a malu, i hope it was not just for the fashion..

so you be proud of your malu !!

  • dang dats hott...love da malu's...and da voice...jus killahs...wer abouts u from?...dang...

  • we live all over the world now - nz, australia and hawaii but originally we're from south auckland HARD! in samoa, our family is from apia (tufuiopa) and afega.

  • Love it!!! Malo!!!

  • Love this video. You all is straight crazy. lol Makes me more proud of being a Samoan. To get a traditional tat and sing your ass off at the same time is truly soldier. Take care girls!!

  • Is there a particular/traditional-ish age to get a tatau? Thx :)

I don't want to sound stupid or anything, but I'm curious about it, so that's why I asked... :)

  • from what i've been told, back in the days, girls got it in their teens - usually the taupou who was supposed to be a virgin. i know i was way too old to get mine and i have 3 kids already but i want the tradition to continue so i did it anyway! i did this FOR my kids.

  • oh. thank you so much ^___^

  • hey girl

nice vocals...mean tatt is ur sister ama holding the camera? omg i played rugby with her over here in oz! hope all is well!

    malo le onosa'i. tc

    one love xO

  • yep, that's her! check out my vid of her getting hers done.

  • HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO DO YOUR'S?

  • 4 hours

  • for both or just one leg? cuz one of my aunties took 9 hours for both legs.. and my other aunty took 4 and a half hours for one leg each cuz she got hers done over two separate days.

  • for both. my sis took 4.5 and the other 5 (for both). mine was the fastest coz i got the shortest legs-lol!

  • Way to go toughing it out AND making sweet music at the same time. I'm getting a tattoo soon and now I feel like a poseur with a mechanical needle! Nice.

  • being a student of the world, and a respect-or of different cultures, i wanted to get traditional tattoos from the places i visit. but i heard it was disrespectful to get those if you're not part of that culture, i would like love to get a traditional tat, but i wouldnt want to disrespect an entire culture. is this true?

  • there are haters out there - people hated on me for getting it but i didn't let that stop me.

i don't think it's what you do but HOW you do it. if you do it in the right way - learn what you're getting, what it means and show the proper respect then it's ok.

  • just out of curiousity, why would people hate on you for getting your malu seeing as that you're samoan? beautiful voice, by the way!! and congrats on finishing your malu too!

  • omg! people were full of hate! coz i'm only part-samoan, coz i don't speak samoan fluently, coz i don't live in samoa, coz they're religious and believe that the body is the temple of god and getting tattoos is wrong - all for their own stupid reasons or judgemental attitudes. like i said, i didn't let it stop me. it's a personal decision and for me, it was a spiritual one. now i feel connected to my great and great great grandmothers who also wore the malu. i carry the tradition on for my kids.

  • if my sisters were singing while i was getting that done i'd wanna punch them in the face...lol...

    ur brave !

    i wanna get mine soon

and pretty sure if i was singing while getting it done the guys would tell me to shut up...lol

  • Good Job. My sister just had her malu done this year. I plan on making the commitment to have my pe'a done in about 2 yrs from now. My wife thinks its a bad idea since I have a health condition that may cost me my life if I do get it done...but I'll leave that in God's hands. Again Great Job.

  • good luck when you get your pe'a! it takes a lot of courage and commitment to endure the process. i hope that it goes well for you.

  • "malo lava le onosa'i". No offence, but I actually laughed when I saw your clip (not in disrespect) but because most people would be singing a different tune if they were getting that done!!! "nice work"
