If you had followed them recently you would see their progression. Saw them last night in Chicago and they are a loud, fast and tight blues/punk/garage band the likes I have not seen in over two decades. This video is great, but is only a glimpse into what they are doing now.
Actually, after I made that comment I listened to White Stripes 'De Stijl' and liked it a lot. Their later stuff not so much. Maybe I'm just jealous cause I consider myself original and it's not getting me much popularity.
no offense to jack white, (because i do thouroughly enjoy the white stripes) but she is a better guitar player and singer than him. not to say the other fat chick is not similar to meg
The White Stripes are a commercial pop band. I don't really see the comparison. The Pack are far more blues oriented. Not everything is trying to sound pre-packaged, radio-friendly.
@MykeeRamen you clearly haven't listened to enough of the White Stripes. Calling the White Stripes pre-packaged, and radio-friendly is like calling Hendrix someone who only cared about his voice. You just completely miss the point.
This band, however, I think is definitely belittled by White Stripes comparisons. While they play a similar vein of music, it's still different. I like it. I like the White Stripes too. Am I not allowed to like both? And think that both are keeping good music alive?
Well, that ain't gonna happen. First, you guys need a real singer because the guitarist's vibrato makes her sound like she's gargling while she's singing.
Secondly, you need a beefier bottom end (since it drops out when she plays in the guitar's upper register), so a bass player is necessity. I like the guitarist's energy, though.
Canadian White Stripes. Awesome. Can't wait to see where these ladies go!

yeah...they see two people on stage, one playing guitar and one playing drums, and they immediately think "They're imitating the White Stripes!"
Use your ears, not only your eyes, people.
To find something that sounds like this, you have to go back to Jon Spencer Blues Explosion back in the 90s.

Trying to be the female White Stripes?
