Now that's kind of an unfair examination. Four & Rosaria are simply messed up beyond belief, thanks to the Titans, and Paptimus Scirocco screws up every woman he meets.
Yes, that is entirely reprehensible and had it been some Zeon or Titan mook gassing the colony, or a Blue Cosmos soldier firing a nuke at a PLANT, or an A-LAWS "intervention", it would be unforgivable. But Reccoa didn't do it out of a crush on Scirocco, she just switched sides for him. Bask Ohm was the one responsible for that, because he knew Reccoa was still not a Titan, so he made her do it knowing that she was morally against it. Reccoa is not a role model, but Ohm is a monster.
Ok, this particular clip contains an enormous plot hole (or at least what I suspect to be a plot hole). While Char's real name is Casval Deikun, HOW IN THE WORLD DOES EMMA KNOW ABOUT THIS?
To my knowledge, the only people who ever got to know about Char's real identity were his sister Sayla/Artesia, Kycilia Zabi and Bright. To make matters worse, Char Aznable was an ACTUAL person with whom Casval traded places, so there was no reason for the majority of people to suspect he was someone else...
@arbiter7x Except why would Bright tell her something like that? Not only were they not any sort of close comrades during Emma's service under the Titans, Bright wasn't aware at the time that Char was a member of the AEUG. As such, this knowledge didn't have any particular relevance. Simply put, Bright had no reason whatsoever to reveal such information to her, especially considering that Sayla told him this confidentially.
No, this is just an epic fail on the part of the writers of the movie.
@TomPhoenixSC The whole trading places thing was only in Yoshikazu Yasuhiko's Gundam: The Origin manga. As far as Tomino's anime continuity is concerned, Char Aznable is an alias and our Char is the real Char. Having said that The Origin will be animated, so it remains to be seen whether or not the Two Chars thing will become Canon.
As for knowledge of his real name, it was more or less common knowledge after the OYW. Certainly by the time Char's Counterattack rolls around, everybody knows.
@MrLunitunz Good point about the Origin manga, I forgot about that.
As for your other point...the thing is, the reason why everybody knows in CCA is beacuse Char himself reveals this publicly on Sweetwater. Prior to that, there is no reason to believe this fact was in any way common knowledge or even familiar to people aside from those I already mentioned. Even in the original Zeta, the only thing that becomes known is that Quattro is really Char, not that Char itself is an alias as well.
@TomPhoenixSC It's possible that Bright talked, or that somone other than those three knew, Amuro probably knew though I don't think he wuld talk. Or else someone saw him without the mask and put two and two together. Plus, Char was on Axis for a while, maybe something got revealed there. I'll tell you honestly I can't think of a logical explanation, though I disagree that the writers simply fucked up, they knew what they were doing when they wrote this scene.
Well, you know that might be because this is a clip not from the original Zeta Gundam series, but from the compilation moves that were released five years ago.
Woman like a fresh sprig of spearmint. Tough, pert, and clear-headed, with a streak of gentleness that she usually keeps firmly under control.
The lawful good to Reccoa Londe's chaotic neutral. Keep your eye on Emma and Reccoa throughout the drama; Tomino plays off their contrasting characters in several ways.
Reccoa was Chaotic Neutral? That would encompass why she shacked up with Scirocco, but even so, wouldn't she have had some moral compunctions about the Titans' methods to join the AEUG in the first place?
Reccoa's defection never made much sense to me anyway.
The thing about Reccoa is that she's motivated by her responses to personalities (esp. strong men like Char and Scirocco), by emotion and intuition, not principles. The anti-Emma. But (Tomino is saying) intuition isn't a substitute for moral reasoning, so she ends up helping the Titans gas a colony. (She's disgusted, but she does it. Ep 40)
In Reccoa, Tomino gives us a character who embodies a slew of feminine stereotypes, yet interestingly, still comes off as "tough."
I see. Too bad Sayla Mass couldn't return to play a major role in Zeta, but didn't Tomino say he didn't like romance in his stories? If we want to watch the "Titanic" of Gundam Series, we could always pop in 08th MS Team, right?
So, basically, Emma acted the way she did because she believed in principles, while Reccoa acted the way she did because she liked to be around "winning men"?
Yeah. That's a blunt way to put it, but accurate. Notice that Reccoa's dying words in Ep 49 are about the way women are treated by men.
Reccoa's relationship with Kamille is always kinda prickly and unpredictable, because Kamille is kind of a nerd, not a charismatic stud like Char or Scirocco. Kamille's a "beta male" who nevertheless becomes a powerful figure because of huge talent and (gradually) his acceptance of order & discipline.
So Emma slowly accepts him; Reccoa's always hot/cold.
@Mazryonh It's quite simple really. Scirocco, being Zeta Gundam's version of Grigory Rasputin, effectively seduced Reccoa with his Newtype powers and thus she defected.
Almost every girl in this anime except emma & maybe Fa is a complete back stabbing bitch

@NemesisSP As for Reccoa being a back stabbing bitch there is no excuse, she gassed people in that one colony over a crush for Scirocco.
