Alphie the Chimp (1997-2002)

Hello, I spent many an afternoon playing with alphie also. He was completely lovable ! So has been nice to stumble across your video and see his funny face again. The chimps we took there also died from snakebites - Sonny and baby Buddy. We were very sad to hear this news. But took comfort from knowing they all spent their final years with many friends happy and loved. Warm regards

@cassandracarney - Oh so nice to hear from someone who got to experience that magical little boy. I think about him so often -- meeting him and the others in the group really changed my life. I miss him so. You're right -- the only comfort is knowing they were surrounded by people and other chimps who loved them. And they died of natural causes rather than poachers. You used to be able to go -- I went in 1999. But there are some places here in the states where you can volunteer. Just google "chimpanzee sanctuaries united states"...and keep me posted! :)

What a nice but sad video. Its so horrible the way these beatuiful animals are treated. Its so sad to hard his story and that he was so young, it just made me cry. people should seriously do more to stop this from happening. it maddens me so much

thanks for your comment. i know -- it's very hard to watch all the horrible stuff that's done to these amazing souls. but places like Chimfunshi really help to turn it all around...amazing people.
