So, if some representatives from one of your BIGGEST SPONSORS competition ask you to compare their product to your SPONSORS, what would you do? YOU BE THE JUDGE! LoL
My non sponsored opinion as a professional automotive technician - AirCat NitroCat hands down beats IR in benefit-cost ratio as well as POWER (just watch torque test videos, and google the 5 star reviews). I have used my NitroCat impact for 4.5 years daily (oiling every few months). For hundreds LESS! AirCat makes AMAZING Products.
I bought that IR tool. I was extremely disappointed. I had to take it back because it did not work very well at all. My hammered on craftsman gun was much stronger. I am assuming it was defective. Now I am afraid to try another IR gun.
@T6camino We're very sorry to hear that, we pride ourselves on quality, durability, and performance. We'll do whatever we can to make it right and we hope that you'll give IR another chance to show you what we're all about.
I am a heavy duty mechanic and own an ir 2135timax and have for 3 years and it removes 33 mm heavy truck wheel nuts no prob, only complaint is that the anvil is starting to crumble but that is after 3 years of hard use. I would recommend this impact to anybody, the only one that is a bit better is the snap on but it costs $150 more and its not that big of a differance
This really dosent prove anything, if the AirCat it putting them tighter then its going to be harder to break them free. Plus you also have to look at price, for the power and price the AirCat is hard to beat. Also this guy has years with the IR gun, that thing is part of his arm. Both very good guns tho.
I bought a IR 2135 impact gun. I am wondering since you have more experience with me Is it strong enough to remove the 240ft lb toyota crank pulley bolt and honda crank pulley bolts for inline 4 and v6
I noticed that Snap-On's lower line, blue-Point as well as Mac also have there own version of the twin hammer style impact guns in both 3/8" and 1/2" drive. My question is, do I.R supply their parts out or does the "Big 2" make their own parts in house (or over seas) for their guns? Thanks!
@degrande707 Ingersoll Rand produces a variety of impact guns for other brands, however many have also attempted to replicate the twin hammer mechanism used by Ingersoll Rand. You can decide for yourself whether you think they stack-up or not.
@irtoolscom Nobody has attempted to duplicate the twin impact it has been going on for years snap on and others have done it for twenty years get your facts straight!
Is the Matco MT1769A the same as the Ingersoll Rand 2135 Ti Max, it has the same identical specs? A mechanic told me the Matco is a little more powerful, but that makes no sense. Thanks
IR power tools are the best out there I used them for over 10 years and I have all the air tools from both the 1/2" to the 3/8" drive impact and the 1/4", 1/2", 3/8" air rachet and IR air chisel
I will only use IR impacts.I have a IR 2112 and IR2115TI which have been great although they are over 5 years old.Only thing I have done to them are replace the anvils at least every 2 years and I do use impact sockets on them only.
IR is more faster due to the stability and less vibration like DJ said. But sadly why best company always make the factory at china..I fell not confidence and sick when I saw the manufacturer plate end with Made in China. IR should be Made in USA.. Made in China is really annoying me. I More prefer the Made in USA, Made in Japan, Made in Germany tools because there are huge difference in terms of quality, reliability and esthetic value than the piece of junk that Made in China. China sucks...
Not that it really matters to me, this test really dosent prove anything, what if the aircat it putting the nuts tighter, then its going to take more to losen. This test needs to have both guns put them on then have both guns take each others off.
@HunterCO1 based on you're claimed "years of experience" I'm assuming you're relatively old. Have you ever thought of when you would grow up and stop acting like tough shit on the Internet? Grow up, you uneducated grease monkey!
i have a 1200k.. i can't believe any of this. This guy is sponsored by IR by the way, so this video off the bat is biased and not accurate. I love both impacts I own both impacts. 1200k is stronger and smoother. IR is lighter and faster. Anyway, its pretty easy to fake a bad tire change. Good job but you aint got me.
@HunterCO1 yeah like i actually pressed post 4 times. doesnt it ever happen to you that internet connections do weird things sometimes? Your such a vulgar piece of monkey shit. So sorry for stating my opinion on this idiotic IR sponsored rep who is obviously battering down the competition that is slowly taking them over.
@HunterCO1 shows you didnt actually spend a second reading my original post. thats the difference between me and you.. you're an ignorant IR worshipper and I'm not. You should really just shut up now you probably never even used the 1200K
@mcdeez69 What it shows is your full of shit as I am a master tech with over 20 years under my belt and every tech that has ever bought an air cat is lucky to get 1 year out of it. Last but not least I only own 1 IR air ratchet all the rest of my air tools are snap on. In fact my IR air ratchet is just a back up for my snap on.
Try and bullshit somebody else you picked the wrong guy.
@HunterCO1 honestly, from the way you replied in your previous posts with such vulgar vocabulary and the inability to remain calm, I find it hard to believe you are a master tech of 20 years. I do not often see people of your status be so unprofessional. Furthermore, I cannot give you one ounce of credibility speaking the way you do especially with the amount of experience you are ''claiming'' to have under your belt. And for the record, other than IR reps and the sort, not many ppl hate aircat
@landiv8 Just out of curiosity, what do you mean "China VS Taiwan Huge difference...?" Which do you believe is better and why? Thanks in advance for your comments.
@irtoolscom Most western good quality import tools are from taiwan. Ac delco sell cordless impact tools made in Taiwan. Although I have not used these tools the batteries are Sony (Lithium Ion). The tools are built to Snap on - IR standards and feel superb. China gives Taiwan a bad name. All your cumputers are made in Taiwan. Taiwans quality is closer to Japan than it is to China.
@landiv8 Your full of shit they are not built to snap on standards the batteries are always made out of country because of us epa laws. If you think taiwan cordless tools are as good as snap on lets meet up and put them to the test. I will put 10k up that says my snap on cordless tools will smoke any taiwan or china shit any day of the week so are you willing to back your mouth up. I am game!!
@HunterCO1 Sorry It would appear to be wrong a quick google reveals the Country of origin for the CTS561 to be China (check it out on the snap on catalogue). Research would suggest a fair few of Snap On tools are from China or Taiwan.
@HunterCO1 LOL @ internet meet ups to prove something. I know snap on makes quality stuff... Unfortunately the owners of any snap on tools always seem to be complete D bags. Especially the bags who buy the snap on jacket and wear it everywhere... most of the time thats all they bought was the jacket. Anyway. let me know how it goes when you meet up with landiv8. im really interested in the outcome.
@killswitchny yeah well he did not take me up on it imagine that. Funny how all the people who don't own snap on are dipshit techs that cant make any money so they bitch about snap on is too expensive. That is my experience from over 20 years in the business. Most of the time techs like me never bought a single t-shirt or jacket it was all given to me when I made purchases so you might want to stop making excuses and an ass of yourself.
@HunterCO1 Hunter you are incorrect - AIRCAT is made in Taiwan and Assembled in the USA....get you facts straight. Plus the AIRCAT will beat the pants off any IR in terms of torque. This speed test means nothing.
@HunterCO1 Hunter you are incorrect - AIRCAT is made in Taiwan and Assembled in the USA....get your facts straight. Plus the AIRCAT will beat the pants off any IR in terms of torque. This speed test means nothing.
@rylayton23 pull your head out of your ass already aircat is junk. Every tech who has ever bought one ends up throwing it in a dumpster with in 1 year. They don't last they are pure shit and your talking out your ass claiming they have more torque than IR. China or Taiwan same fucking difference its junk period. Not to mention WTF do you think torque does you moron it breaks shit loose and that POS aircat in this video got smoked by IR.
This gun is tits. I haven't tried the MAX yet but I have owned the 2135Ti and was very impressed with it. I wouldnt buy any other company impact gun, even if they tried to sell it for a dollar.
You should not have any issue with normal use of either product. To get optimum performance you should be using a 3/8” hose and high flow quick disconnects.
Ok... One more question. I have a gas 8 gal 11.5 cfm @ 100psi 2 stage compressor. Will this compressor be sufficiant enough to power the IR 2135Qmax? Im also interested in the HammerHead. Will my compressor get the 180ft lbs IR advertises? Doing front end work on my cars this summer and want to keep the peace with the Jones.. LOL!!
Why does IR not list the reversing torque? Reversing torque is what counts. IE... (Rusted suspension parts) When IR was contacted, the claim they dont test the reverse torque. Also thier website says you will need 24 scfm to get the full potential out of the 2135timax..
I prefer Air Cat.. The Air Cat 1000TC uses only 4cfm to acheive 1000 ft lbs in reverse. Im and average joe who doesnt want a compressor the size of a Freakin Regfidgerator to get my job done.
@MegaGarrett07 I have this gun and compressor cfm isn't going to be a concern unless you have a chinese $50 2 gallon compressor. The hose and the quick coupler are the only two concerns. I run mine with a 3/8" hose and a 3/8"NPT quick coupler. I get as much torque from this setup as I'm comfortable channeling through a 1/2" impact socket. If it had any more power, my sockets probably wouldn't last very long. If one needs more power than this gun is capable of, then they need a 3/4" impact.
@MegaGarrett07 You're right, reverse torque is what counts and the 2135TiMAX reverse torque is 780ft-lb, although as we mentioned in another post it will bust a nut loose that was torqued to 1,100 ft-lb, 100 ft-lb more than the Air Cat. As for air flow, we list both the consumption under load (24scfm) and average consumption (5scfm). We've tested the Air Cat and it uses 26scfm under load. We think the video speaks for itself, same air supply, same operator, same job – you be the judge
@irtoolscom Interesting.. I will look into the 2135 further. Sucks AirCat does not sell a rebuild kit for their guns. You have to send it to them for rebuilding. Thanks for reply...
@irtoolscom so will the aircat... it has 1200lbs nut busting torque hence the name '1200k'. It seems like you're just trying to save your website from a couple Aircat sales because you know as a fact they will happen. It's the first time IR has any real competition and this is how you will proceed with your marketing campaign. Its not politics its TOOLS. I own both, I love both. Just before people start saying im an 'aircat' rep. lol what bs.
@mcdeez69 post the air cat testing method or STFU already. snap on and I am sure IR are the same its 90 psi for 5 seconds. Now put up or shut up jackass. I have seen air cat in the the real world and it is pure shit. To even argue that it is some how comparable to IR is a complete fucking joke.
@HunterCO1 Ok I am done uselessely conversing with a delinquint on the internet. You should first prove how I am talking out of my ass. I'm interested to see what you have come up with. Anyway as I have said, I own both, I love both.
@mcdeez69 No need to I have tested them all myself at snapons trade show they have it all set up with gauges so its a fair and unbiased test. You out of your league with me. Air cat is pure shit I have seen many techs buy them only to throw them in a dumpster in one year.
@mcdeez69 been there done that little boy I do it for a living why keep talking out your ass and yet you fail to post air cats method of testing their impacts to come up with the claimed torque. so for a second time what testing method does air cat use?
@mcdeez69 The first time IR has had any real competition is snap on what crack pipe are you smoking? I have been turning wrenches for over 20 years an IR was hands down the best air tools on the planet. They are still one of the best but snap on has stepped up and gave them a run for the money. That being said if you think air cat is competition you are smoking crack. When it comes to air tools there is only two choices snapon or IR when you make a living with them that is the only choice.
@MegaGarrett07 umm dipshit IR lists reverse torque as all impact dealers do what planet are you from. Also once again you jackass I have used them air cat is shit this video even proves it same air hose same everything and IR was far superior. why keep making an ass of yourself air cat is pure china shit.
@mcdeez69 IR has plants all over the world and they build air tools right here in the USA pull your head out of your ass you just grasping for straws now. I have seen air cat first hand and its pure shit. For a wanna be weekend shade tree guy like you it will probably get you by. It dont cut it for techs its junk there advertised torque is a complete joke. My mg725 will smoke any air cat under that table and its only rated at 810 ft lbs.
@HunterCO1 on paper the snap-on is best, but in real life, this week ive remove an axle nut on bmw that was rusted, with my 2135timax i remove it before my partner with his mg725 cant, paper, machine to test and real life is very different ;)
@sampwell1819 Try again little boy I have been doing it for a living over 20 years and you are so full of shit its leaking out your ears. Now go suck robby's dick and drive a truck moron.
@HunterCO1 LOL all you saying is based on what? you think youre cool and youre the one can say true just because you cant add constructive argument and direct go to try to insult LOL. you cant increase your intelligence quotient when you post reply like a stupid 8 years old girl. i dont know you have do for your last 20 year but YOU HAVE WASTE YOUR TIME LOL, restart or go to school, or maybe buy a life... but based on your last 20 year.... i think you cant really do money LOL
Im confused, I see here all the time that this gun has 1,100 ft. lbs.. But also see it advertised as 780ft lbs everywhere I shop . Did you guys quit making the 2135timax with 1,100 ftlbs?
@quidew1 The max torque is the maximum amount of torque that the tool is able to deliver, which is 780ft-lb in reverse for the 2135TiMAX. Nut busting torque, also referred to as break-away torque, reflects the tool’s ability to remove a bolt which has been tightened down using methods other than the tool itself, Since torque capacity varies by many things, the 2135TiMAX is simply stated as being able to remove a bolt which has been tightened down to 1100 ft-lbs. Hope that answers your question
Question, I bought the 2135timax and when I hook it up to the air line there is a slight hissing sound (like an air leak) coming from within the handle and NOT the NPT fitting itself. Is this normal?
I use my 2135TiMAX constantly in a shop, a lot of techs have them and love them, but a few guys have Aircats as well. The Aircats are quieter and a little more powerful, but do you know why I love my IR? Because all the guys at my work who have Aircats have broken theirs several times each, and my IR seems invincible. Sure there's a warranty, but would you rather make a warranty claim and wait for repairs or replacement , or would you rather just have it not break in the first place?
The MG725's too big and bulky for me, weighs almost a pound more than the 2135TiMAX. I'd go with the IR gun any day. Even if it's not the same thing, I love seeing performance right on top of the real Thunder Gun, cool video.
I would choose the IR over the AirCat any day, but this video doesn't really show anything applicable to the everyday mechanic. The only impact that is better than the 2135Ti MAX is the Snap On MG725...
Look at a Matco impact wrench,is a rebranded IR.I have a MT1769A impact that is a rebranded IR.IR,when did you start making Matco's air tools?

It's the first time IR has any real competition and this is how you will proceed with your marketing campaign. Its not politics its TOOLS. I own both, I love both. Just before people start saying im an 'aircat' rep. lol what bs.
mcdeez69 8 months ago
@mcdeez69 post the air cat testing method or STFU already. snap on and I am sure IR are the same its 90 psi for 5 seconds. Now put up or shut up jackass. I have seen air cat in the the real world and it is pure shit. To even argue that it is some how comparable to IR is a complete fucking joke.
HunterCO1 8 months ago
@HunterCO1 Ok I am done uselessely conversing with a delinquint on the internet. You should first prove how I am talking out of my ass. I'm interested to see what you have come up with. Anyway as I have said, I own both, I love both.
Take care Hunter

@HunterCO1 just off a quick search: look at 8th video from top titled "aircat 1000th vs IR2135timax 1/2'' torque comparison"
mcdeez69 8 months ago
@mcdeez69 No need to I have tested them all myself at snapons trade show they have it all set up with gauges so its a fair and unbiased test. You out of your league with me. Air cat is pure shit I have seen many techs buy them only to throw them in a dumpster in one year.
HunterCO1 8 months ago
@mcdeez69 been there done that little boy I do it for a living why keep talking out your ass and yet you fail to post air cats method of testing their impacts to come up with the claimed torque. so for a second time what testing method does air cat use?
HunterCO1 8 months ago
@mcdeez69 The first time IR has had any real competition is snap on what crack pipe are you smoking? I have been turning wrenches for over 20 years an IR was hands down the best air tools on the planet. They are still one of the best but snap on has stepped up and gave them a run for the money. That being said if you think air cat is competition you are smoking crack. When it comes to air tools there is only two choices snapon or IR when you make a living with them that is the only choice.

@MegaGarrett07 Do you use a 120v air compressor?
JoeCnNd 9 months ago
@MegaGarrett07 umm dipshit IR lists reverse torque as all impact dealers do what planet are you from. Also once again you jackass I have used them air cat is shit this video even proves it same air hose same everything and IR was far superior. why keep making an ass of yourself air cat is pure china shit.
HunterCO1 8 months ago
@HunterCO1 ok you know what buddy, IR is made in China as well. Fucking look it up and shut your mouth already jesus christ.
mcdeez69 8 months ago
@mcdeez69 IR has plants all over the world and they build air tools right here in the USA pull your head out of your ass you just grasping for straws now. I have seen air cat first hand and its pure shit. For a wanna be weekend shade tree guy like you it will probably get you by. It dont cut it for techs its junk there advertised torque is a complete joke. My mg725 will smoke any air cat under that table and its only rated at 810 ft lbs.
HunterCO1 8 months ago
@HunterCO1 on paper the snap-on is best, but in real life, this week ive remove an axle nut on bmw that was rusted, with my 2135timax i remove it before my partner with his mg725 cant, paper, machine to test and real life is very different ;)

IR all the way. Theres a few other tools id rather have in IR than others out there.
People rave about snap on. But IR's air hammer/chisels are the mutts nuts! Plus snap on is quite expensive over here!
gravey07 1 year ago
Im confused, I see here all the time that this gun has 1,100 ft. lbs.. But also see it advertised as 780ft lbs everywhere I shop . Did you guys quit making the 2135timax with 1,100 ftlbs?
quidew1 1 year ago

620JK 1 year ago
@620JK No, that is not normal. Please call our tech support line at 800-866-5457 and they will help you resolve the issue.

Hardedge25 1 year ago
The MG725's too big and bulky for me, weighs almost a pound more than the 2135TiMAX. I'd go with the IR gun any day. Even if it's not the same thing, I love seeing performance right on top of the real Thunder Gun, cool video.
hammrguy 1 year ago
I would choose the IR over the AirCat any day, but this video doesn't really show anything applicable to the everyday mechanic. The only impact that is better than the 2135Ti MAX is the Snap On MG725...

Looks like a pretty clear victory to me...explains why all the NASCAR teams use Ingersoll Rand.
