just get a couple of plinkster mags and put a block between each of them and tape them together and bam you have 30 rounds all you have to do is drop the mag and shove the next one in if you want a 10 22 just save the extra $100 and get a 10 22 because if you fuck that up youve done spent half of that anyway and even if you dont fuck it up it aint gonna last verry long
Or you could just buy the 25 round magazine that goes to the 702 Tactical. I am almost 100% confident that the mag receiver is the same as the plinkster.
$25 at Bass Pro or $20 + shipping on the worldwideinterweb.
@PackinAL Yes, you could do that; however, at the time I did this project, nobody was selling those. Another thing to consider is that a 702 Tactical mag will probably look very unsightly hanging from a regular 702 plinkster.
@gouruguay you can find it at most parts stores in the auto body section with the bondo. you can get woven, mat or loose. I used the woven type with "Permatex PermaPoxy™ 30-Minute High-Strength General-Purpose Epoxy" also purchased at advanvce, on a custom grill on my car, it came out great and is very strong. whatever epoxy you use has to be thin enough to soak into the fiberglass. I would suggest you do a bit of testing on scrap materials to see how it works best for you.
@Skwisgar2322 Well it all depends too on the hardener used. If the epoxy parts are mixed correctly. Polyshield resin is great in my opinion as it uses MEK to harden and if you put a little more MEK it dries faster. mat fiberglass is better. Woven is too tight and lose is just too difficult for a small project as this one. Or you can mix the lose fiberglass in the mixed resin and lay it on with a brush.
Or you could buy the 25 round magazine from the 702 tactical. from what i can tell it is a longer stick mag like the origional one with a plastic surround.
i have a plinkster paid $107 bucks for it!!!! at wallyword. i wish they had a higher cap magazine. i personally would just buy another rifle to get a higher capacity. you did a thorough conversion and it seems like its a pain in the butt for it pay off.
@rognlie1 Well, I just did this for fun and so anybody with a little bit of patience could replicate it. So I'm afraid it is not for sale; however, it is very simple to make. You should have no problem trying it. If you have any questions I'm at your service.
@dirtysock145 Well, that is true... but that would defeat the purpose of high-capacity magazines in the first place, wouldn't it? Now on the other hand, joining two identical 10-round magazines is a good choice. However, a bigger spring needs to be obtained. Another option I thought about, is to join somehow the two smaller springs and make a longer one. There are indeed many ways to skin a cat, I just chose one
@gouruguay Well you could almost solder the two springs together but then again it could end up costing more buying several mags to join them together. It's all your preference.
@dirtysock145 Yes, that is true, its all about your preferred cost/benefit ratio. Another option I though about is to join two 10-round magazine back-to-back. Sure it would look funny but it would probably work just fine and you can insert or feed the magazine either way. As shown in the video they have a little lip at the bottom that would help in the welding. And as you said, the springs can be soldered together. I wish Mossberg or a third party manufacturer would just make the darn thing.
Do you need any kind of permits or licenses to do this modification? I wouldn't think so for a hi-cap magazine like this, but I'm not sure if you'd need a manufacturing licence or not.
@SecuR0M Well, I would think that if it is for personal use and you are in a state that allows hi-cap mags then it should not be a problem. Also, there are exceptions whether the mags are for handguns or rifles, and even caliber. So, check the restrictions of your state and municipality gun laws to be sure.
Thank you for posting this. It gives me ideas on how to do something similar. Your info should save me and others that attempt a similar modification hours of trial and error.
Very Creative and most important it works!

They sell the 25 round polymer mags now online, on a few websites. I've been waiting for this since 2010. I can't wait to order it :-D

Too hard for me to do but I liked the idea of customizing the mag.

I would suggest using some fiberglass mat in the epoxy to reinforce the junction.

@Skwisgar2322 That is an excellent idea. Where can I purchase that? Is there a specific brand? Much appreciated.

Another option is ordering the 702 Tactical magazines that are 25 rounds .No mods just add ammo and shoot!
They look goofy but they will get you an easy 25 rounds! A lot less time modifying!
I bought 2 here!
Search for 505082 @ gun source.com ,otherwise you won't find them!
Hope this helps,I've looked off and on for months for an easier option! Thank God I found one!

Why not just get another plinkster magazine and reload, or get a bigger spring and join some of them together.
