I am so impressed by this and no backing track...actually i can hear the rest of the Band while you are playing that's how good your timing and phrasing is:-)
Really Good, you can play this for me any time and i won't have to play my CD...
thats what i meant a 59 vos or reissue but i think this one is a plain standard honeyburst... love that tone you get in an old house with a big room though
I just got this amp last Wednesday. It's fantastic. The loudest I ever got it was up to around 5. It shook everything in my room. Haha, I can only imagine what it felt like to play it on 12, like in your other video.
Marty - I have the same Peavey Classic 30 and a beautiful Gibson VOS '57 Goldtop. However, you get some nice sharp tones from the amp and mine sounds like a big fat box. :O(
Any suggestions? I changed the valves to Marshall higher gain ones and that helped a bit. Could it be the stock speaker?
A lot of that is in the way you play. Page actually used both pups on this tune. The neck pup turned all the way up and the bridge pup's volume up but the tone backed off a little. =)
The guitar starts soft then gets driven and your guitar did not. I would say dump the pedal, set the gain all the way up on the amp and adjust your volume on the guitar when needed.
Brilliant clean tone...I'm endorsed by Peavey and rarely ever go with anything else. I took my Classic 50/410 all over the place, dropped it, knocked it over (Never on purpose of course), and it has always cranked up and sounded amazing.
i'm thinking about getting an iced tea standard 60's neck. i looked at the 58 reissue and didn't like it anywhere near as much. great playing man. sick tone. is that a byoc tube screamer. what else do you use man. thanks for sharing.
What is the color on that les paul. Is it a honey burst? I love it. And your tone is a replica of Jimmy Page's. I am saving up for a standard right now. I have over 1600 in the bank. I should have the guitar sometime right after Halloween. But I am very worried about the sound being different from the new wieght relieved les pauls. The deal of the century is picking up a Classic 100 head. I see 'em for $250 here and there. My buddy has one and it sounds amazing. Great playing, by the way!
Great tone and great playing. I actually went out and bought a used Delta Blues as a result of watching your videos. Couldn't find a decent Classic 30 and found that the Delta Blues was pretty much the same thing but with a 15" speaker. I love it. Let's hear some more blues!!

ztbsk8er 4 years ago
Hi, Yeah its a honey burst.
Mines a 2005 standard so its got the swiss cheese style weight relieving. I have heard the new chambering actually sounds fantastic, even from people owning real bursts, however I think the fact that its chambered is a big let down because a LP should be solid body. My guitar actually has this really nice reverb like acoustic ring to it, which might be from the weight relieve holes.

These peavey classics have some good creamy tone. How much gain can this thing produce?
asianaxeman 4 years ago
I had the classic 50 head and the discontinued classic 20 1x10 combo. They can go from clean to guns n roses level of distortion. I am suprised peavey gets a bad rap. In MY personal oppinion, peaveys classic series is the closest you can get to that 60's/70's really midrangey classic rock n roll tone in a modern amp.
XCaptainJohnnyX 4 years ago
Most definitely. Peavey's Classic series are WAY underrated. I've been selling them for the last 11 years, and so I can speak to the fact that they're extremely reliable amps.
