@rledoux99 You're so right. They know how much they've touched people's lives and that their fans are the ones who supported them and got them to where they are today. I've never seen Billy Joel live but I've seen Elton twice and he is by far one of the best concerts you will ever see. If you are a fan and haven't seen him, I highly recommend getting tickets to one of his shows near you! He plays for 3 hours straight and has a lot of energy. His band is fantastic too and so are the lights!!!!

They are both incredible musicians. Each has what the other lacks. Billy has a really good voice and a strong classical piano background, his playing is much more harmonic. Elton has a sweeter sounding voice and his playing can get almost pop-ish, but it comes across in a more lyrical sense, and where there is a little less harmonic depth, there is a bit more cool stuff going on. To be honest, each is good, but they might just sound better together.

Actually, when they both perform on stage their pianos are inoperable, playing "air piano" and there is a man by the name of Steve Fiskerbibel, behind the curtain, on the same stage, doing all of the actual piano work for both of them .. Steve is the far better performer and entertainer!

@accuristau I have to disagree 100%. I would say Elton is the better entertainer and Billy Joel the far better pianist. Look at some of Billy Joel's earliest concerts/songs. New York State of Mind, Scenes from an Italian Restaurant, The Stranger and Rootbeer Rag should be enough to convince you. Although Elton's rendition of Pinball Wizard is pretty impressive.
