i was wondering if you can use one of these to maybe run down a sand dune and skim down it kinda like how it looks when you learn hang gliding at a begginer hill", i wouldnt be using it as a hang glider as i know thats not what this is intended for and you can probly kill your self but just wandering if i could use it like how i described or maybe run really fast and jump and get little jumps of the ground with a little bit of hang time?
This is the most awkward looking sport ever. I would be very surprised if this ever catches on. At least kite boarders and wind surfers would both have someone to laugh at. Not cool at all.
So its 2600 dollars for everything and you need at least 15 mph wind? I can buy descent used jet ski for that price Or top of the line kitesurfing package. You would have way more interest if the price was at 1600.
I sailboard, and i think this has potential. look at what having a vertical lift component does, big float on flat water. how do you get around the waterstart thing?
Still trying to crack that. Its all about coordinating the flying of the wing with the position of the board & body. I've had 3 or 4 goes so far on water and its not easy. Having said that, i'm sure its just needs a bit of practice in the right conditions.
just checked out the video on the site, seems like collecting the gear is the strenuous part, but at least u can't be catapulted. i've been reading things here and there from sailboard industry designers about some of the benefits of an angled or free flying wing. for the longest time i've assumed what most have; that the power wouldn't be adequate. seems not to be the case!
In theory yes, but the WW75 has bouyancy so it floats when you drop it, and also its a lot bigger, so you get the power you need. I would guess that it would need to be VERY windy to get going with a 5.5, more so with a 4.8.

This looks ridiculous. I would not waste a dime on this product. Even the inventors/experts seem to struggle.

can you do kite wing surfing with a smaller wing, like 4.8 or 5.5?

I have my board on an extending Kiteboard leash, so its not too far away when it all goes wrong.

Coming from a Kiteboarding background, how would you body drag back to your board if you lose it in a jump ?

You need over 15mph wind to get going. I've not cracked a waterstart yet!

how much wind do you need? I mean to water start in water over your head and get planing pretty good?

Not really - you can use a harness, and its really easy to control.
