According to the Qwiki site they used SSTV during Apollo 11 and then re-assembled each frame for broadcast sometime later? The landings would have taken place hours before if that were the case. Can anyone confirm that this was the case?
@davemckiernan No, the soviets and America used SSTV to send images back from their unmanned probes. All the manned moon missions used normal NTSC signals.
@davemckiernan I think they also recorded the NTSC footage frame by frame as SSTV on reel to reel tape (videotape was too expensive then), to get a higher-quality recording, but I'm not sure....

For me, MMSSTV just stopped going at 0:33. Too much background noise. But, hey, this is amateur radio here. Always gonna be some static, right?

I forgot I had MMSSTV running in the background and when I closed my browser I had the image. Love this techology.
