daylewis may be a good actor, but he does not resemble Lincoln....It's hard to accept this fact when we are so used to Lincoln's face, and must be difficult to choose an actor with both qualities for the movie. Hope spielberg uses lots of special effects.

I'd dissagree. Of any actor I can think of, Daniel Day Lewis would be the the best fit over anyone out there. You'd probably be hard pressed to find a very tall, ultra skinny actor better than Lewis. I've never seen anyone who quite looks like Lincoln as he was a pretty Unique looking fella. :)

Cool. I am very excited about Lewis playing Lincoln. And the (American) Civil War is a fascinating subject and Lincoln a fascinating person.To have talented folks bringing this to the theater is a great thing.

I've been reading "Team of Rivals"...it is a tour de force! I encourage all interested in President Lincoln, the Civil War and the times leading up to it to get the book. While 900+ pages long, the main text is a little over 750 pages, with 150+ pages of references and index. When combined with other biographies of Lincoln, one gets the very strong impression that he was a truly great man - an inspiration for all people, for all times. I can't wait to see the film!
