  • thieves.

  • Clapp! Clapp! c'est la Fiesta : )

  • I've read loads of comments about a lot of the songs from the 80's, and about it all being a fashion disaster, that is more true now than it ever has been.

the 80's were a powerful era of music/politics/design/technology none before or since has come close to even equaling what happened then.

  • @paradoxstate Yes! Yes! Yes! And the powers that be have spent the last two decades trying to discredit it and obliterate all legit memory of it. That period - really the late-seventies/early-eighties - was an accident; regular people were never meant to have so much fun and freedom, and end up gaining so much power (personal, monetary, cultural). The difference between the eighties and this past decade is like night and day. Sad!

  • great song but i definitely prefer the shirley ellis version

  • Great tune, great fun. A sign of the times :)

  • They could cut it really well as a live. No faking. Great unit.

  • tlaxcalavicar what would you know about relaxing or having fun i am sure the girls didnt take it a seriously as you obviously are, This was created at acertain time in the history of my great country, we all needed to have fun in some very tough times

  • We really do need more music videos that include a girl in a wetsuit.

  • So when are we all going to go outside and jump rope? I need this on my alarm clock...then I wouldn't need Starbuck's.

  • Yeah, great song, BUT...

    "The goose drank wine.... "

what's THAT all about?! what goose is allowed to consume alcoholic beverages?

  • it's from a jump rope song. That's how I remember it anyway.

    It goes:

3,6,9 the goose drank wine. the monkey chewed tobacco on the street car line, the line broke the monkey got choked and they all went to heaven in a little row boat. My mama told me if I was good she'd buy me some candy, that's what she told me.

  • This song still rocks!

  • A Miranda fan here. She is CUTE!

  • Why the hell don't they have a website or something? I used to love Jennie McKeown.

  • Now, finally, they have a website which you can visit at

    WorldWideWeb DOT thebellestars DOT com

  • or you can check out my myspace page for more info!

WorldWideWeb DOT myspace DOT com/malcmc - Jennie Bellestar is on there too!

  • Terrific stuff. I used to love those gals. Would you believe they started out as a ska/2Tone band named The Bodysnatchers. They got themselves a new singer and became The Belle Stars in 1980. Didn't have any hit Singles 'til '82.
