You choose to be oppressed. Because god says so. Not because you want it, right, but because you want to be loved by allah, who only gives you love, if you obey him, right?
That is not an unconditional love, it's a authoritarian father, who doesn't like people, who don't obey him.
I cannot blame women, who don't like to be oppressed. If you want to be oppressed and patronized, so do, but don't try to impose that to your children or your colleagues. But exactly that does islam. Without choice.

It's often the case that the so called free women of the west are the most oppressed. Just look at how the media and Hollywood portray women. Muslim women are the blessed and the so called free women are the oppressed by society and the men, just look at the rape statistics in the west compared to the Muslim world.
There are no rape statistics in the muslim world, at least i haven't seen one of them. Guess why. There are only rape statistics of muslim immigrants, which are extremely high compared to the resident population, but that is partly influenced by the class effect. But in any way, women don't choose to not have the ability to wear, what they want, they don't choose to be seen as possession of the man, and they don't choose to be only birth machines, like islam wants them to be.
