When I try this challenge, I usually savestate in the intro room, the platform right after the saw, after the thwomp bounce, just before the last dolphin, right before the end of the football room, after the first grinder, the halfway point, and right before Bowser's third phase. Any way to improve this?

I think it has something to do with the level with the feather. When I beat it, all the colors turned brown, and in the first level, the bullet bills turned to fish, and the plants in the pipes turned to something else that I can't remember.
