@iwatcher69 -- "Sleep apnea" is the sleep disorder. "Apnea" itself is defined as "suspension of external breathing" (Wikipedia). I mention their defn because it further explains how gas exchange can still be occurring while external breathing is stopped -- which is why free diving can be done. They call themselves Apnea Girls *because* they hold their breath as they dive. I can't imagine doing something so risky myself -- and I'm OK with being considered a big chicken! :>)
