This adapter doesn't do away with monitor speakers for those that need them, nor would you necessarily need all those other items as an alternative. But for its price it is convenient, certainly for voiceovers - and with the SM-58 it sounds fine. I wonder what difference a £**** condenser would make with this...
Sorry Dave this gadget is a gimmick, the reason we use good sound cards and audio interfaces is to deal with the need to record multiple inputs at once without any latency. In my experience USB and audio recording don't mix well, all my best audio gear is connected via Firewire. This might be a handy gadget for some spotty bored loner sitting in their bedroom recording reverb soaked karaoke versions of Britney Spears but that's about it.
I don't know if you're getting paid to do this, but you don't need all that equipment to get the same or more functions as this Shure gadget. You can get an external professional grade sound cards in the 100 to 130 euro price range. If you only need 1 or 2 inputs. Don't get me wrong it's a handy gadget at a good price point, but don't oversell it.
Surely you'd get better results though using a phantom power using and a good quality ADC, and I mean, i know its more expensive and takes up somewhat more space but i cant help but feel the quality of the mic will be limited by the adaptor
Gonna' be gettin' one of these!

This seems like a very niche product that very few of your viewers would be interested in. But let's hope some find it useful.
