Why not? It it exactly the same as with latitude and longitude. Longitude range is 360°, while latitude range is only 180° (from -90° to + 90°) - it is enough to cover whole Earth's surface :)
@i know what you mean but with just 180 you lost the ciling of some structures like a church for example... and that suxs.. but if you are picturing a landscape.. you just 180 is required. Cheers.
@orlandothx to take panoramas on my website (pano7.com) I moved the camera around 360° and from top to bottom, the second angle was only 180°, otherwise the camera would have to be kept upside-down pointing backwards :)
@luxxart coincidence.. im starting my little enterprise..im graphic designer from chile.. but i lived 3 years on belgium and kinda liked this 360 stuff.. im just making my web and start to make my first panoramas.. thxs for the advice... and can you tell me what lens do you use? o just use a one shot lens? thxs :)
@orlandothx, for pano7.com I'm using 16-35 lens on my 5D which gives me more resolution but more work to stich images. fisheye would be easier to use. on top of that I'm shooting 3 times in each direction, for HDR, to maintain details in highlights and shadows. in total I'm taking around 85 shots. the final panorama could be much more detailed than what you can see there...
Realmente excelente. tengo una pregunta: si estoy realizando una panoramica a un escenario abierto como el interior de un estadio, con ese lente igualmente realizo una rotacion de 60 grados por foto?.. thanks for update this tutorial, my english its not god enaugh.. I have a question, if im going to take a pano from a Stadium inside or any other big place like a big coliseum, i get each photo every 60 degrees or it change?..
the 10.5mm is not a full frame lens.

@TheGuyTakingPictures yes it is :) just search for nikon 10.5 mm fisheye full frame.

@orlandothx
I meant it doesn't cover a full 35mm frame. Unless you're talking about cutting off the built in hood, thats different!

You mentioned a 10.5mm fisheye lens. What about an 8mm fisheye? Do you have to take more photos or less?

A shutter release cable would save you a couple minutes from the timer : /
brt5470 2 years ago
True.
I don't use a cable release. I just set my timer for 2 seconds. Better than 10, and just about as fast as a cable release.
