GEL thats what I use Cause the pin don't work for me I just Gel it up and brush in to a mohawk and then wrap the scarf around my head and leave the middle out. Next moring when the gel has harded I just get an afro pic and pic it out into a mohawk you can apply pin after if like

If you're not ready to cut it yet, you can do proctive stylings like braids, cornrows, or two-stranded twists. Another option is to wash your hair, then while it's wet, slick it down with Jam or gel, tie a scarf around it tightly and let it dry. It will give you a smoother ponytail and control the natural roots meeting at the permed portion.

I transitioned for 2 months as well and then i cut half of my permed hair off and the next day I cut off the rest of my perm. If you are not quite ready try some transition styles such as bantu nots, twist outs, braid outs, straw curls, braids, etc....

my sons hair was growing really slow at first too and I started it moisturizing it morning and at night before he goes to bed and twisting it up for a few days. I would either try some natural hair styles or get braids and make sure you cutting your ends cause they may be split and if so the amount that is growing at the root is breaking off at the roots at the same time so make sure you are getting your ends cut regularly

A mohawk is nice also. What I do is when I get out of the shower I moisterize and pin it back on most side and boom. There it is, a mohawk. Takes 3 minutes.
