These results show that acamprosate might be efficacious in treating nicotine addiction in humans.
I smoked some 30 years, chewed nictione gum the last 4 years and have finally lost my urge for nicotine 4 1/2 years ago. I was taking Campral for ringing in my ear and to my surpise I didn't need nicotine anymore.

I abhor cigarettes and what they made me do. The addiction was to strong for me to stop until I took the drug Campral.
