I agree with you about Belle getting to the know the beast but Ariel and Eric really didn't get to know each other until after she became human. The only attraction they had was their appearance and I don't believe love should be based on how you look. Ariel didn't even know the price but she gave up her family, friends, and being a mermaid to be with him, only because he had a pretty face. In the Grimms tale, the prince ended up with another pretty face.

Eric spent time around Ariel then he began to fall in love with her. And as far as Ariel giving up everything, think about wat happened b4 Ariel went to see Ursula. Her dad just destroyed wat was important to her. She was upset n she wasnt thinkin clearly. It wasnt necessarily for Eric, she was angry about wat had happened.

This is probably my favorite ending to a Disney movie! The singing, how her dream of owning a restaurant came true, everything was perfect! This movie actually made me want to go to New Orleans one day :)

@Kareby1968 You're right! Now that you mention it, they're the only Disney couple with wedding rings. All the other princesses either didn't get married by the end of the movie (Snow White, Aurora, Jasmine, Meg, Jane Belle, Rapunzel) or didn't have the exchange of wedding bands as part of their marriage ceremony (Cinderella, Ariel, Kida). It's a nice touch on the animators' parts :)

I love Naveen. Basically I love all the Princes/Heros that they give life too. So I liked Beast (did they ever reveal his real name?), Prince Eric, Aladdin, and I guess Simba counts too even in animal form. There might be some others, but whenever there's a prince that has an actual personality, I love it! Same goes for the princesses, which is why I wasn't too big of a fan of Snowhite, Cinderella, and Aurora (SB).

Lion King Still has the best ending (first). And the antagonist scenes are not superior to those of Jafar in Aladdin. It is a good movie though.... I think better than sleeping beauty and snow white... Same level as Ariel.

I finally watched the whole thing last night. People say that it had the best ending and everything was resolved, but there was one thread that remained.

At the Masquerade Ball a guy dressed as a Jester shows true affection towards Charlotte LaBouff, but she brushes him off. She wants a prince and the guy leaves depressed. Where the hell was he at the end? I expected him to show up dressed like a Prince and sweep her off her feet. He'd get the girl of his dreams and she'd get her "prince."

One problem though....Louis the Alligator was originally scripted as a reference to the legend of Robert Johnson. He was going to be human, and met Facilier at a crossroads outside of New Orleans. Sold his soul for trumpet talent...only to be turned into an alligator.

Unfortunately this backstory ended up being cut from production.

The two movies have similar endings, as you see each of the major characters seeing their dreams (Be it fame, recognition, or finding true love) come true, set to an awesome closing song ('A Star is Born' in Hercules, and the 'Down in New Orleans' reprise in this)!
