  • Personally I prefer the Latin and the Chant Mass, but this is beautiful. :)

  • O Lord; another Haugen/Haas arrangement... There isn't a problem with singing prayers; as it is a common pratice wit hthe orthodox. But if there is not reverence behind it (i.e bowing during the consecration and elevation of the Holy Gifts) then validity CAN and WILL be caled into question.

  • @StaryKapec3

It's not even Novus Ordo Missae. As i know in Roman Rite it's prohibited to instrumental accompanied to words of priest during prefacy, conssecracy and canon of mass.

  • @StaryKapec3 You can not like it but this is an approved form of the Mass. You don't have to be rude however.

  • This is sad, this is so sad...What has Mass come to??

  • God please bring us back to times before Vaticanum II, sothat things like this shame wouldn't be allowed... :(

  • sacrilegious

  • At any time it is an honor to hear John Thomas Lane sing as well as an honor to know his brilliance and kindness.

  • this is a children;s mass i recognize it from the responses of

  • where is the bowing of the Priest's head during the concercration, whre is the raising of the host and chalice after the concercration.

i ask myself was this a valid mass

please stick to the liturgical books and to approved singing. God bless

  • This is disgusting..

  • this is beautiful- but cant they calm the baby down

  • @traditioninaction Why would you say that? This is not the only place that celebrates Mass this way.

  • @tazdev87301 "This is not the only place that celebrates Mass this way. ".

I know some things that are being done by many people but they still don't count as good.

  • This sounds more like ballet recital music...

  • This is awful, BRING BACK THE LATIN. looks like a protestant mass. :(

  • There is actually sheet music to this. It is the from the "Mass of Remembrance" by Marty Hauge.

  • The Eucharistic Prayer is a roman catholic eucharitic prayer for masses of reconciliation (please, see pg. 1128 of the Sacramentary). Father John inserts some answers in the midts of this prayer to create a kind of Interaction between people of God and priest.

  • at first, i thought this was a theatrical presentation. only did i realize later that it was a mass. the eucharistic is not one of the four. i suspect this was the eucharistic prayer for children's mass. the preface did not follow the Preface for the Holy Eucharist I.

  • Besides the fact there is not supposed to music during the consecration, I don't recognize the Eucharistic Prayer at all.

  • This stands for three Latin words, Societas Sanctissimi Sacramenti, which in English translates to Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament.

The other two people are deacons. Thanks for commenting. If you didn't rate the video, please do so.

    God Bless

  • God bless! Now I have rated

  • I think is beautiful and the Father John sings very well. What does 'SSS' stand for..Salesian? Are the other two people deacons? Why are they dressed only in alb and stol and not in dalmatics?

  • They do appear to be deacons, their stole is worn across the chest. A dalmatic is not a required vestment, and I'm guessing that the parish just doesn't have one for him.

  • Yes I just did not see any stole on the person to the right.

  • Blessed are we at St Charles. We are lifted up each Sunday (or Saturday Vigil) by this manifestation of the Holy Spirit at work in our lives...Thanks be to God.

  • this is very good! how can i have a copy of the musical score of this?

  • From GIA - It is the from the "Mass of Remembrance" by Marty Haugen
